      Not that surprisingly really since I believe the brain is wired for more ability to stand pain (and stamina) at a higher age, while 20'ties are better for sprinting and recovery.
      It was also evidenced in 2011 when Craig Alexander, at age 38, beat the Course WR and ofc won the Ironman in Hawaii in 8:03, despite it having been HEAVILY contested for 30+ years by all sorts of 20-yr olds. It's been beaten since, but it took till 2017 till that happened.

      Even so, I don't think that will happen. Kipchoge tried for 2 hours in perfect weather and perfect circumstances, but he just wasn't strong enough. Right now, we don't have another athlete capable of breaking 2:03, so no one can really push Kipchoge. Maybe if more superstars competed in Berlin, or if Kipchoge ran London instead of Berlin, then a sub two might have happened. Kipchoge was like 6 minutes ahead of his closest competitor in Berlin. Yeah, and this marathon WR is only positive split because he aimed for sub-2 and missed (and was still good enough to smash his own WR anyway).

    Can anyone explain-why Mo Farah is "afraid" to compete against Bekele? Would it be a half marathon or a full distance, just when Bekele announces himself, Mo is out. He just tells about some "problems" as an excuse. Mo was my inspiration to start running 10years ago. But this is strange and it's not the first time.

    Plus the funny thing is these women are still no where near better then Paula Radcliffe Paula run 2:15:25 with shit shoes before the new shoes if she had these bouncy shoes she would have run 2:12:30 to 2:11 💯 makes a big difference on speed and energy return sore muscle she would have maintained a faster pace with out breathing down so much tired legs and she had shit old shoes kipchoge a beast 🐐crazy time also it said he’s 39km or it was he’s 37 was 2:37km for 1 of his km towards the end of the marathon which is 13:05 5k pace

    London is an odd course if no One is pushing the pace (like Kipchoge) the time will not be that fast
    In Oregon Tola looked great so just by that I sould say he is one of the favourites and especially Geremew and Legese never had any oerformance near their PB, tho I’d say Geremew will get second
    And the kenyan Amos Kipruto looked very fit at the Tokyo Marathon tho that is almost a year ago and the course ain’t as good
    My heart sat Kenenisa should win 🇪🇹🇪🇹
    I belive the podium will be two ethiopians and one kenyan

    • @benjaminlonyaman1233
      @benjaminlonyaman1233 Před rokem +1

      Tola is good but doesn't have kicks like Geremew so he has to burn his opponents early enough the way he did in Oregon, Geremew needs to be near Tola if he wants to win he kick well.
