The best part was Ingebrigtsen letting everyone destroy themselves. At top of hill on lap 3 there was a good gap. He caught those 3 on downhill and then just ran a couple feet in front of them for a few seconds almost like saying I'm still here, then he tucked in again. Guy races so smart. If he runs world xc championships again he'll have to be ready for insane pace up front.

Historically, I agree with you. But... 1- I'm not saying that Ingebrigtsen will break the world record in the next Olympics. I'm suggesting he will break the record before the next Olympics or at the next Olympics. 2- Ingebrigtsen is able to hold a fast pace and he also has one of the most leathal finishing kicks. For this reason, 1500m racers can no longer race slowly hoping to kick for a late victory, and 1500m runners have been increasing the pace for the duration of the 1500m in important races. A good example is the last 1500m Olympic race. In the right race, I could see Ingebrigtsen breaking the the 1500m world record without the need of a pacer.

I can't believe that among Jakob's accolades, you listed his 1500 Diamond League title and his Euro 1500/5000 double, but *not* his Olympic 1500 title. Wut

@@SauceKingg Oh. Why shocked though? I think he probably just likes it. There was a lot of hype they were trying to build around crippa and I think he just likes to remind everyone how dominant he is in racing. It’s amazing to watch that last push up the hill and in the interview after he said he realized they were struggling so he made his move on the hill.

I don't like his final straight celebrations. They don't look like spontaneous joy, they look like egoism and bad sportsmanship.
