Time for something different, so here’s a lil’ snare shoot out of all of the Tama Snare drums that I own.

The high tuning sound is absolutely tasty !
low tune sounds pure power
crazy how well it sits in the mix at it's size. People are way too concerned about the myth that bigger snare = bigger tone
I have the 14x5.5 version with 10 Lugs a side. It’s one of my favourite snares! Glad this version sounds just as good

I'm always stuck between the high and mid tuning. Feel like that is the magic spot. Too high and it doesn't have enough body. Too low and it doesn't have the crack.
Use a different head to get body, evans dotted would work good on this one.
