Climate button does not work while in Carplay. There are no a/c fan speed buttons, so the only way to adjust fan speed is to push ‘climate’ and use the screen controls- a major pet peeve. There is an off button that works in CarPlay. Would love an update/download to fix this.
Received this week and installed last night. Took 2.5 hrs. Hardest part was removing vent-the clips that secure it are at the corners- best way to remove was to only use the trim tool on top and bottom. I used it in the side and it wrinkled the dash foamy material. The second hardest part was routing GVIF wires. I got good cuts so wear gloves if your hand will fit. The wires like to go right instead of down-Would use a hooked wire(like a bent hanger) to guide it down while feeding it.
Besides the climate button, this is a great mod and the instructions were spot on. Thank you!

The climate buttons will work while showing the carplay screen. However, in order to go to the climate control screen to change the fan speed, you will need to go back to the factory toyota screen, then you can go to the climate control screen. Since the climate control buttons all work independently without a CAN signal out, it would be impossible to add a feature where the screen switches over to the climate control screen when the climate control button is pressed. Glad you’re enjoying the product!

Once the module is installed and you are inside CarPlay, what happens when you click the climate button on the head unit? Will the OEM climate screen appear?
Do the rest of the factory buttons of the head unit keep their OEM functions while you are in CarPlay?

Mine didn’t. Climate button doesn’t work.

Same here. Installed today and climate button does not work when on CarPlay. You need to press home first, then climate. A fix would be great. Other than this I am a happy camper.

@@davidsalazarc completely agree! It’s slightly annoying but tolerable.

Sorry for the confusion, you will need to go back to the native Toyota screen to see the climate control screen functions
