    Hayley Williams is a quintessential performer that is a pillar of her generation. A spokeswoman of an audience to be reckoned with. Her fervent love of music radiates into everyone around her. Albeit Paramore fan or bystander, Hayley Williams and company have blessed us with a journey many hope for but few can truly experience.

    I don't have this kind of devotion nor do I understand it. If a woman ever had a chance to take the man, it's not the other woman, but the man. People should make these sorts of songs towards men who can get swayed by new attention. We don't own our partners, they owe respect and loyalty, and that means not falling prey to temporary women.

    • @idc9053
      @idc9053 Před rokem +10

      It's not her song, tho. She just pays tribute to country star Lynn, who has recently passed away...

      This song is clearly misogynistic but hey, it was released in 1966. And internalized misogyny was a very common problem back then (it's still common during these current days, just not as intense as the past century) because most women back then were taught that “being jealous of other women and fighting against them are the right things to do”. And having “illicit thoughts” doesn't make a song bad, so Hayley is just appreciating good music (paying tribute to Lynn, like the person above said) and embracing the history as a feminist because she once had internalized misogyny as well and already grew out of it (see: Misery Business). Embracing the past/the wrong doesn't mean you're advocating it. It's more of a self-reflect thing to do.

    • @SLYKM
      @SLYKM Před rokem +1

      @@trong-nhannguyen4879 yea, I get that. I suppose I found the lyrics of the song very distracting. I didn't know the origin of the song beforehand, I was mostly commenting on the words, not making judgements on Hayley herself. So that's helpful.

    I read somewhere that Hayley doesn’t play guitar in public because of sexism. Maybe she isn’t as worried about that as she was.

    • @laramorrison5973
      @laramorrison5973 Před rokem +11

      she isn't confident on the guitar and people used to make fun of her so she stopped and then an article came out recently saying women can't play guitar so she decided to spite them

    • @its4it
      @its4it Před rokem +2

      @@laramorrison5973 Well good on her then. I also like it when she plays keyboards, as she occasionally does when performing with Paramore.
