- On May 20, 1989, a limited-entry live concert of select music from "Final Fantasy" and "Final Fantasy II" was held in the Gohanda temporary hall, in Tokyo. The concert, conducted by Katsuhisa Hittori and performed by the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, is not only unique in that it was the first official orchestral performance of the music from the "Final Fantasy" series; but also the first official live concert, with the next one after, "20020220: Music from Final Fantasy", being held 13 years later. A CD containing this music was then produced, with a limited print in 1989, and a more common reprint in 1994.

FF2のエンディング曲がこんなに素晴らしいとは。オーケストラだと最高にいいです。パンデモニウムでマサムネで強敵を一撃で粉砕したのを覚えてます。
服部克久さんのこの編曲を聞くたび、壮大な絵巻物を見ているような気持ちになります。あの偏屈な魔法使いマトーヤさえも、羊皮のなかで色あせた歴史として描かれている気がしてきます。知らないはず世界で、かつて生を受けて過ごしたかのような、不思議な懐かしさと感慨が胸の奥から一気に湧き出してきます。
なつかしきぼーびがとくれせんたあのころ…
This album still holds the best version of FF2's Main Theme.
and the best version of rebels theme.
This is one of the first and greatest arranged albums!
So many chills, just knowing this was the first time anyone heard this music come to life in such a beautiful medium.

This is one of the first FF CD I purchase, loved the arrangement also made me appreciate the 8-bit original more.
Scene V basically invented the early counter melody for Prelude, I love the version on here, I hope someone uses it in a future soundtrack. Also it has the best rendition of Chaos Shrine.

If you like that art go find some more to appreciate. The artists name is Yoshitaka Amano. I have several of his art books. All very beautiful and expressive work with a heavy influence from the art nouveau movement. Beautiful paintings.

This is so amazing! I know it is an unpopular opinion, but I love FFII. It is still one of my favorite titles in the franchise. I know there is a bunch of stuff wrong with it, but what isn't wrong is the music, and this encapsulates that beautifully. What a wonderful concert, can't believe it was 1989 when this was done.
The FF2 battle theme part sounds really cool in this. I don't remember the real theme sounding anything like this.
