The amount of catharsis I feel seeing Superman finally be recognized as a great character after years of people saying he's boring is undescribable

Best superhero, not because he is the most powerful, but rather despite being so powerful he doesn't stop being a real hero. The best person isn't human and he inspires us to be better versions of ourselves.
But despite not being biologically human, he’s 100% human. How he acts, how he feels, how he interacts with people is all extremely human, which makes him incredible.
He's the best superhero not because he's the strongest or because he can shoot lasers out of his eyes. It's because no matter what, you can always depend on him to make the right call. And you can always trust him like that not because he's superman, but because he's Clark Kent, country boy with a heart of gold. His greatest strength, the one he is truly respected for, is his humanity.

I remember watching Nostalgia Critic's review of Wonder Woman, and he really liked it simply for the fact that she just wanted to help people because it's the right thing to do.
There's no traumatic backstory, there's no quest for vengeance, she just wants to help.
Hopefully (no pun intended), the new Superman movie keeps this up. Clark Kent, beyond his Kryptonian might, is nothing more but a farmboy raised right. He'd still help people even if he wasn't Superman.

Gotta love how an alternate scenario concept got exploited to the point where it just became the norm and people ended up getting sick of it getting forced down their throats, until it all wrapped around, going back to how it originally was.
Life is a pendulum
Funny how things work
Entertainment is just a constant back and forth of people wanting of one thing, people eventually getting tired of that one thing, then people gravitating towards that thing's opposite until they get tired of that and go back to wanting the original thing again.
The Cycle Of Man.
Being aware of it is how you transcend it though.
@Sieur-Chevaliere_Arkan how did you know ?
That's the beauty of Superman. He's not the government. He's not the police. He's not a ruler, a tyrant, a king or a despot. He to remain a humble guy from Rural America. For all of his alien heritage, all of his immense power, the core of who he is. . . is the lovingly-raised son of the Kents. He's Clark. Superman is the persona, Clark is the man behind it. Clark is the driving force, not the power.
He represents hope and some faith in the notion of justice. He's represented in each of us when we choose to do good despite it all. Every little thing you do to help someone else, when you hold yourself to honesty, integrity, and principles, you embody Superman. He's humanity at our best, and never does he forget his humble farmboy roots. He's an honest and earnest person. He's old-school values.
Even if he has the power to end a lot of our issues he realizes and lets us know that he can't be there always solving everything, that the change is within us. We need to be better, not be babysit by an all powerful being, because he believes humanity has the potential to be better by their own.
Superman is pure distilled inspiration and faith in the best traits of humanity. It's a beacon and a symbol.
Through that lens, Clark is one of the best representation of faith as a concept. Not just faith in our lord and the figure we might look up to, but also faith in the people around us. Faith in humanity. Faith that we can be the best person that is within ourselves.
Superman dares us to be someone that can inspire others for the better.
That's why it pisses me off when Wonder Woman calls him Kal-El in the films, it's so cringe

I remember thinking that Superman was lame when I was a kid because there was no reason a guy this powerful wouldn't take over the world. The fact that “Superman” is a “breath of fresh air” says more about our society than anything.
Superman was always a reflection of our society. Superman was created in a pretty dark time in the world, but because of his strong moral values and heroism, he was wildly popular and cemented himself as a global icon.

The fact that superman is being celebrated as a genuinely good character who does right things simply because it's the right thing to do is absolutely heartwarming.
Superman was always a symbol of hope. Our own pessimism twisted him into these hopeless scenarios that only further cemented that ire.
He is the hero we do not deserve. It’s nice to see people recognize Superman for being who he is at heart.
Funny thing is how badly out of character they make Clark or his friends to create these "evil Superman AUs", not counting the literal opposite ver. from The Crime Syndicate.
Injustice (comics) has Bruce be an ass & downright turn on Clark when Clark came to him for emotional support. Diana got turned into a warmonger who drove Clark down the path of a tyrant for no reason. One of the worst cases was Barry though. He was turned into a coward who blindly looked to Superman, cause he was incapable of thinking for himself.
@@electricfeverx976"but bro it's just an alternate universe"- average marvel/dc fan
Yeah, I feel the Kingdom Come version more appropriate. Rather than being dictator, Superman would rather retire as superhero, or become a hermit
Tbh i feel this meme i have discussion about that and when comes to Heroes its often "But that is so boring!" Yeah, doing something for others can be boring but you give people a future.. its like planting a tree or _burn down_ a tree.
Planting a tree and let him growth can be boring and you need years until the tree is big enough to give a shadow where you can rest in a hot summer day etc, but you let something back even when you are already dead.
Burn down? You have some "fun" for maybe 1-2 hours but thats it
Thats the reason why i enjoy playing good in RPGs etc.. you give people are future and not just ash and blood just for a little bit of "fun"
Its literally Hedonism VS Responsibility
It’s not even hedonism. Undertale is a good example of how evil itself is boring. You get nothing out of destruction. There’s a momentary high, but eventually you have to dedicate yourself to the tedious task of hunting down every last thing to destroy it, because now you’re in too deep and can’t do anything else. Meanwhile if you actually helped people, you were in for a much better time
Being good, nice, and kind is considered boring, and then they complain that the world has gone to shit.
Skip the villain arc.
@@jocosesonataNo i don't think i will.
and to the above. i believe what you are referencing is the Ancient Greeks' "The greatest societies, are those founded by men who plant trees, the shade of which they know they will never lie in"

Sorry, I may have wrote my wording to be a bit misleading to my intent. It was more of a dig against those who consider such positive things as "boring", the same people who would later on complain how everything sucks without ever doing anything or giving a little effort to make things even a tiny bit better.
As to the "skip the villain arc" I actually agree and disagree with it myself. There are moments, like the recent hopemaxxing, where I wish to do good and be good just cause it's a good thing to do. But then I get reminded of humanity's atrocities (both old and new) and I'm right back to doubling down on the villain arc.
It's an odd cycle. Finding the greatness in humanity while also being misanthropic.
That tiktok of a guy dressed like Superman just interacting with loads of people who are all just excited to meet Superman is exactly what I want right now

This meme is a friendly reminder that anyone with a glimpse of hope can inspire others with passion and love. It's simple yet perfect
I will always love Superman for representing the often ignored truth that the world is home to good people who will stay good despite their ability to bad.

I like the fact that superman is truly by every definition of the word, a "super man", he is above a human in all aspects , not only it terms of strength but also in his character. While we cant strive for his strength we can certainly do so for his character.
This is why I've never liked those people who laser focus on Superman's powers and use him like a measuring stick in online debates. The point of Superman isn't that he's powerful, it's that he shows us who we could be if we really tried. He tries to fight for what's right no matter what and changes the world through his kindness rather than his immense power.
Superman isn't interesting because of his powers, he's interesting because of who he is.

All Star Superman probably shows the best of what kind of person Clark Kent is, even on his final year to live he still goes out of his way to help those in need.
Probably one of my favorite scenes in comic book history is when he goes to confront Shazam, Shazam wrecked an entire police station in rage to get the man who killed his best friend, superman meets up with Shazam later to ask him why he did what he did. Shazam ends up revealing who he really is, a child, and immediately Superman goes from being upset at Shazam to asking Billy Batson "Who did this to you" confronting Solomon despite his own weakness to magic

One of my favorite Superman moments is from the animated series where he discovered a man on death row was innocent and the real killer tried to assassinate Clark Kent. Superman was prepared to reveal his identity to save the man on death row.
That episode was actually loosely based on his first case. In the comic, he barges into the governor’s house at 11:50 PM with the real killer in his arms and forced him to confess because an innocent woman was about to get the chair in a few minutes.
The JLA series in the 2000s had the right idea; they made a point of showing Superman being hyperaware of how easily he could destroy everything and how he purposefully pulls his punches.
ik know it seems corny but i think both spiderman and superman embody the indominable human spirit. Superman CAN do bad stuff, but he always chooses not to, representing inturnal struggle. When you read spiderman comics, its hard to beleive how much it seems like the world is against him, but
he always gets up, representing exturnal struggle. js

People say characters who are unambiguously and unapologetically pure good are boring and cliche, yet I hardly see them nowadays. That's why I absolutely love characters like Superman.
I think invincible is a unique take on it, like the character not the show. He is pretty much regular person has super-powers.
He is the most human, wanting to do good and great things, while loosing his cool in moments, and regret and doubt overwhelming and influencing his judgement.
Mark is the Superman of a modern suburbia
Clark is the Invincible from the rural farm heading into the big city.
Honestly it’s nice to see some happiness, memes can be very nihilistic at times so seeing this makes me just a bit happier
I think people are tired about all this Nihilistic, "Everything is shit! Nothing is worth living anymore!" and focus on everything that is bad. People want to have hope again, thats also the reason why "Sams Speech" at the End of Lotr The two Towers are one of my favorit scene.
The superman as a character literally came full circle from "Wow he's so good and strong" to "That's unrealistic, anyone would be an asshole in his shoes" to "Wow he's so good and strong" again
I'm a pretty cynical guy myself, so seeing the want of genuine positivity in media lately is pretty uplifting.
There are so many people that are now realizing how important of a symbol the original Superman was, and another example is how much value people are giving to the Smiling Friends show, an optimistic and uplifting adult comedy which you also don't get to see a lot off
all these superman edits actually had an impact on me, I've been smiling way more now, I make sure to greet everyone kindly whether I know them or not, my mom has been suffering from mental problems for a quite while and I've been spending more time and always making sure she has a smile on her face, whenever I listen to Starman now I feel cheery inside, and it all happened because superman reminded me that the power of hope is a force which triumphs over all evil.
Superman is a great character, surprised it took so long for people to realize it.
This is definitely the next "I have no enemies"

One of my favorite qoute about Superman was said by Batman:
"It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then... he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him."
I was wondering when you’d cover this, finally bruh
Especially in this day and age where we're so disillusioned and aware of all the problems of the world and it's easy to give up hope, we especially need Superman and people like him to remind us that we can and should fight for a better future. That's always been his core appeal at the end of the day beyond his powers or costume.
Those who are the happiest are those who do the most for others
and that my friends is what makes Superman Great.
People don't want to believe that people can be good for Goodness Sake. Because they're hiding something is more of a popular belief than to admit that we can bring about good in ourselves because of one persons Selfless Actions.
the general exhaustion towards anti heroes and dark depictions of the superman archetype has driving people back to the original intent of superheroes like superman, not the desire for immense power but for power to be in the hands of the good. Eventually people will get board of that too again but for now im happy to be on this side of the ever flipping coin.
Somwbody else here said "Life is a pendulum"
people get bored of one end and go to the other.
typical, and the way humanity has always been in truth.
I said being aware of the cycle of man is how you transcend it.
unrelated but is spawn an anti-hero?
yes
@@Integritys_Sum we are inside a global armonic wave
It's easy to hate on Superman until you're exposed to the true evils of the world, and realize that we all need more of what Superman represents
It's been a long time since we saw such a positive trend and we are all here for it
Man, if I was a wizard superhero, I'd throw fun magic shows and instantly cure disease and addiction. All the while healing the earth, maybe I'll build a cool plant bridge to Mars or something.
I’m giving my schools graduation speech this year and it’s heavily influenced by the hope i felt when reading Superman comics as a kid, this meme has peaked beyond just silly little edits
My senior yearbook quote was a Superman quote
“Dreams save us. Dreams lift us up and transform us into something better. And on my soul, I swear that until my dream of a world where dignity, honor and justice are the reality we all share, I'll never stop fighting.” From “What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and The American Way?”
@@ChrisSuperDude truly a banger quote
Superman finally is being recognized as Superman again and I couldn't be happier. Let's hope that James Gunn continues this.
Sometimes, people forget that it's not wrong to create characters that are meant to inspire us to be better. That message has almost been lost in the age of writers and fandoms being increasingly obsessed with focusing on flawed/grey characters who you can't look up to.
People act like superman is boring because they see someone as doing the right thing as boring. Superman is a hero that anyone would be happy to have as a force for good.
I've always had a soft spot for Superman because he's a genuinely good guy. He's a symbol of hope and inspires all of us to do better every day.
You need the heart of Clark Kent to be Superman 🗣‼
Amazing meme. I'm so glad it got popular. Honestly gives me the vibes of the "No enemies" meme. Thanks for covering this one, definetely one of my personal favorite memes.
Wonder Woman: “I am a warrior princess”
Green Lantern: “I am a intergalactic police officer”
Batman: “I am vengeance, I am the night”
Superman: “I am a friend”
Kids: "Superman is cool because he's strong."
Teens: "Superman is boring because there's no way someone that powerful can be that nice."
Adults: "Superman is cool because he's a good person."
It's funny since that was his original trait that later got changed to be more "realistic". I am happy that people remembered the super part of superman.
Glad that more people are realizing that positivity is amazing
Finally, Some good Wholesome Memes
He's my favorite superhero since I was a kid. Man this makes me happy.
The entire point of Superman is to be a genuine good person in a world where being good is seen as old-fashioned.
And his movie adaptations and the stigma of people against him, proves why we need a character like this.
Because through Darkness and Corruption, he is, alone, The Starman in The Sky.
Honestly superman vs the elite shows this off perfectly
I think I speak for a lot of us when I say we've had our fill of evil/morally gray Superman (Snyderverse, Injustice, etc) and evil Superman clones (Bright burn, Homelander, Omni Man, etc.).
World's full of too much pessimisim, we need the classic, benevolent Superman back.
What's up with the internet lately? It feels like everything has become genuinely more positive, and all the shitstorm, whilst not gone, seems much calmer than it was a couple of years ago.
That's a beam of hope, I have this hypothesis that we would be back to the golden era of the internet when things were just genuinely good and cool. It will come to a full circle.
My favorite is the one of him handing someone a bottle of jack Daniel's and saying "it's going to be fine" with the biggest smile on his face 😂
I was having a bad day today but as soon as I saw the Superman memes about doing the right thing no matter what. I ended up getting more motivation then those “stay in the grind” or gym videos ever gave me
Be the kindness that you want to see in the world.
I want this meme format to be used with other wholesome, kind, and caring superheroes. Like Spiderman or the Flash.
It would be useful to remind people that batman isn't just a brooding edgelord
That’s exactly why he’s my favorite superhero he has absolutely no reason to do this but he chooses to help people and make them feel safe and warranted his genuine smile and heartwarming character is so fun to read
I love this trend. From " Can goku beat superman tho? " To Goku going around saving the fictional verse and Superman advertising hopemaxxing.
Its like after their latest dearh battle fight both decide to be more of a help to people.
I can’t wait for the new Superman movie and I hope it does his character justice as an overall good person
Thanks for including my video 1:42😭🙏🙏
