FIBA killed the hype with the bad refereeing. Also, sad the Greek coach didn't know how to use Giannis and just put him under the basket or set him up for corner three situations. Wasted potential there.
Basket in NBA is different than in Europe. In Europe/FIBA you can stay on the paint without ball eternally. So every team tried to have at least one player there to counteract Giannis. But I agree with comment of coach and referees...
Totally agree! Sad that Greece sent an average coach without even euroleague experience, opportunity wasted. If you want a medal, you gotta send a champion coach who has the mentality to handle things in tough situations.

Kobe Fanforever coaches can very much affect play just look at Lamarcus Aldridge and the spurs at first pop wanted to run the same sets he did wit Timmy that he did wit him it affected Aldridge’s game because he turned into sum he was not that’s why he had big break out when pop let him get back to his game
@Kobe Fanforever A great coach is also a psychologist, knows how to calm the team and how to inspire them, it's not only a mere technical instruction. It is not an accident that specific coaches have a great record in leading teams to victory in the last seconds when stress hits red. Also, Giannis, did not perform bad, the whole team did. The whole team material was very good, they just seemed so much uninspired and stressed.
Why we accuse this coach? It's not only about Giannis, it's also about other players that couldn't deliver and he kept insisting on them without trying a proper rotation, he didn't even take time outs at the right time.
So sad that Kobe is gone😥

Giannis weakness is no offensive three second violation. Every play i see him is when he attack the rim. That's his advantage. But when in FIBA, that's his weakness.

No respect for World Cup referees...4 and 5 players were literally beating Yannis in every game and the referees were doing zero. And in the critical game when it was clear we had the potential to gain those 12 points they just stopped our dynamic by kicking ;Yannis out of the game or by not giving fouls. They showed no respect for Yannis and the value he carries as a personality and as an athlete.

You use Giannis for your marketing, as he was the best and most popular player of the tournament..But you showed no respect neither to him or his team. We got eliminated beacuse of our bad loss against Brazil. we could have done better in free throws and field goals for sure..But FIBA refs did their best to destroy our fight to be at quarterfinals..Lithuania and Greece are two of the biggest basketball schools on earth with huge love for the sport . You re killing it. Enjoy the rest of the world cup basketball fans. Hope Serbia nails it.

After your answear you send me , the coaching staff is good, you're right but also recognizes until proven otherwise the coach does not score! so even though they are not the best in the league, they are still better than the other teams in front of them and they have no lived experience that team so it deserves respect. The thing is - it isnt so many referee mistakes. Euroleague is much more physicall and less "hand checking" - thing considered fouls in nba ain't here half of the time.

Giannis is one of my favorite Ayers and he's probably the most dynamic overall player in the NBA but damn man he travels alot and they never call him for that.
