    I can’t thank you enough for this! This is exactly what I needed to hear. I cried while watching because I have been feeling like a crazy person and had completely catastrophized my situation. Now I see light at the end of the tunnel. You are doing some amazing work here, and I am so grateful.

    Excellent podcast. Daniel is amazing and thank you Drew. The two topics tie together with anxiousness 1000%! I’ve learned a ton from Daniel’s stuff (such as that concept) and it’s helped my overall anxiety and continuing to get better daily. Thanks for this!!

    I been dealing with alot of anxiety over the fear of getting crazy over the last 5 months (OCD type possibly)...lately i started getting hypnagogic dreams as im drifting into sleep and that creeps me out ALOT (which is the state he mention in the video btw) ..to be completely honest i don't even know if that is something i dealt with b4 and only got to notice now, and my anxious brain is creating a monster out of it but this feels like the worst time to notice the hypnagogic state lol ...as im drifting into sleep i notice my brain starts thinking and imagining extremely random things. Like absolutely random weird scenarios that makes no sense and dialogs that make no sense (although to me they are very "thinking like" and don't feel very vivid and realistic like other people mention having but still weird)...so when i notice this i usually wake up with a shot of adrenaline almost straight into a panic attack with my senses extremely heightened and thinking "yep im going crazy..thats confirmation"

    Well, damn! This mf'er indeed! Lightbulb! All the things. I'm not sure laughing throughout was your intention, but my cheeks hurt from smiling and laughing at myself for my lightbulb not going off sooner. EPIC knowledge. Thank you both! I am seriously cracking up over how I let this clear and simple concept just slip right over my head. Life is a wild ride.
    I found out about your podcast from seeing an interview you did on Angie Peacock's channel. Cheers to you being so damn straight up! Grateful for the work you do!

      Oh man, the number of anxious people (me included) that look back and have to laugh. HOW THE HELL DID I MISS THAT? Or, "HOW DID I LET THAT RUN AWAY WITH ME LIKE IT DID!". I get this comment, really. And the laughing is kind of expected in this context. I'm glad you found this one helpful. :-)

      In any situation where there is an injury, illness, or medical condition present that would have to be taken into account of course. In this case, we could not say that being tired the next day is nothing to worry about. Not everything is a floating and accepting problem. Sometimes other interventions have to be considered and coordinated with medical care providers and other support providers. We would not tell you to accept not sleeping if that had real medical consequences in the morning. This is where your doctor(s) and qualified in-person help MUST take precedence over two guys talking into microphones on the Internet. Good job bringing this up! Advocating for yourself and your own experience helps people like me understand the wide variety of issues the audience might be facing and your comment will likely be helpful to someone reading this down the road.

    How about having anxiety symptoms like heart aching and sweating the more the night goes by and it is 3am/4am and no sleep so far. You did not touch on the anxiety part … how can you overcome sleep anxiety physical symptoms that give you 0 sleep nights

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I might argue that we did touch on the anxiety part. Physiological responses to anxiety and fear are to be expected. They do not chance the equation. They are already factored in. You are anxious at night, which is scary and highly disruptive to sleep of course. Then the second part is being anxious about not sleeping. So fear, then fear about fear, then fear about how the fear means you're not sleeping.

      radooche, do you experience depression too and ruminate on things? I know I do and insomnia makes things worse but the depression and unhappiness came first and then the insomnia followed

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  Před 3 měsíci

      I am VERY sorry to hear that you're going through that kind of experience. It can be really important to note the difference between "I haven not slept in 5 days" and "I'm afraid I won't sleep". This is quite subtle, but it really matters and sometimes its quite difficult to be that nuanced in a one-to-many forum like a CZcams video or podcast. Insomnia and fear of not sleeping are certainly related, but they are not exactly the same things. I appreciate you sharing your experience here and I do hope that improves for you.
