I've written to you before phil, and you've graciously answered...to me the greatest pleasure of wood turning....apart from wood turning, is the joy on people's faces when I give them a bowl...each one is unique..

Oh my! Phil you are so critical of your work! That’s probably why you’re such an incredible woodturner. Great work. Love the plate. Love the shape.

Well Phil, for all you put yourself down at times, you truly are an artist with such an innate understanding of wood. The platter turned out beautifully and I hope your reticence doesn’t put you off doing a coloured and textured piece in the future. Since stumbling across your channel fairly recently I have become addicted to watching. I must admit I do chuckle, but not because I think you are doing anything wrong (I’m no woodturner), but simply your wonderfully droll sense of humour helps lift my spirits and take my mind off the mindless hatred of the war here in Europe. You are giving me a sense of balance I need right now. You are a good man.🪵🎨👨🏻‍🎨🤩

It will help to muster enough courage to turn it. I surely hope my first platter turns out as beautiful as yours, but there is a fat chance it will. ❤ the look of that bowl. I've never touched pepperwood before, but it sure looks nice finished up. When I saw how soft it was, I was worried it wood never smooth out, or maybe it would just fall apart into dust. I think I'm a little bit too heavy handed, I just know that I would never have gotten it to look that good myself. You've got that soft touch, good job.
