DVSA reversing exercise Class 1 HGV. video gives several views, outside, N/S mirror, O/S mirror, How the trailer moves and Topping in the box. Hope it helps
The reversing exercise. I teach this as a procedure full right-hand lock, see a mark on the trailer, then full left-hand lock unit trailer and truck are in line, then push rear wheels to middle line, then apply a little left-hand lock watching the trailer curve into the garage. Have a look at the other video on our website. Never give up
My instructor told me one full right turn then hold until you see the marker on trailer then two full left turns. The problem was I could see the B cone but not the garage cone in my offside mirror which I wanted to use as a guide. My instructor told me I should of bent the trailer a little to the left by applying a small amount of steering to the right. Aren't you suppose to be able to see the garage cone in your offside mirror if you can see the B cone?
Thank you for your comment. But you don't say why you think you wasted both time or money. On your category C+E tests you completed the reversing exercise to the standard required by the DVSA standards. May I wish you good luck in the future to obtain your class 1 licence.
Thanks for this comment, the hole idea of the video was to help the trainee understand the views from different angles. To help them see the way the trailer moves in the mirrors. The reason for no sound explaining things is so the trainee doesn't get confused with instructions given by their own HGV provider. Once again thank you for your comment which has been taken on-board.
Well done! First video on youtube that i have ever seen which is without a single thumb down .
