    The point about the adjustability of the seat pad and the bars, is not that they are meant to be adjusted again and again but so that the bike can fit a wider range of potential buyers. Its a good idea.

    I disagree, I think particularly the handlebar adjustment is a great idea , anyone who buys the bike have the ability to make max comfort, also when it's sold on someone may wish to alter the riding position, without further costs.

      Matt, I have owned many baggers, and often would prefer the bars an inch or so closer for my max touring comfort and to achieve this by changing the bars is a major expense , you have the cost of new bars , new cables and the not inexpensive labour, so if possible I would like this adjustment feature on all bikes

    • @tccoup355
      @tccoup355 Před 7 lety

      I am 5'6 and would definitely leave the seat pad on and move the bars closer. I had a Suzuki Savage 650 back in 95. I rode it for a couple of years and put a lot of miles on it. That's the extent of my experience also I am 51 yrs old now. I have decided to get a Harley and would get the sportster 1200t except that some call it a girls bike. I like the street bob but want the duel disk brakes. I am a bit nervous about just how much power these have and the weight. I would want a shield and bags, that's one of the reasons I was thinking of the 1200t.

    • @kevinpatterson6055
      @kevinpatterson6055 Před 7 lety +1

      Being 5'8", I was thinking about a 1200T ass well. I went in and stood up the Low Rider, and it's so well balanced. I don't think you feel the weight as much as when you look at the numbers.

      Joe Sandborn get the streetglide my friend. You have a ton of experience. They have crash bars on there in case you have an incident. GAP is great but more importantly get motorcycle insurance with a low deductible if you're worried about covering damage. GAP only covers you in a total loss like if it's stolen or totaled in a crash.

    Will this be a perfect bike for a beginner? I looked at some sportsers but this one caught my eye more than anything

    • @J4RK1LL
      @J4RK1LL Před 5 lety

      McKenzie Fisher damn 2 years ago lol anyways well hope it’s not to late but hell I bought it 2 years Ago fresh out of MSSF I’ve never road a motorcycle ever! When I did the motorcycle safety school before I did the 3 day training test thingy I did a private lesson 1 or 2 hr I forget on a Small Suzuki 250! I asked him to teach me everything that’s gunna be in the basic riders course! It was well worth the private lesson! Then when I went back to do the MSSF basic riders course I choose the Harley 500cc bike for the 3 days! And yes it was very heavy I dropped the bike once on the 2nd day! But didn’t get point taken off or get in trouble! After that I bought this low rider vivid black! This was my first bike my friends and everyone told me to get a used bike first so if I drop it, it won’t be so bad! But I didn’t do it cause if I got a used bike then I will have no or very little bit of money when I want to get the bike of my dreams! So I ignor them and got the low rider brand new on July 2017 for 13k put down 8k and now I owe the rest which is not bad at all! Now as having this bike for the first bike I say go for it! I did it just know one thing this bike is heavy and very powerful! I fell once on it doing a circle ⭕️ on my drive way I was stupid to think I can do a tight circle went around once and twice but third time I fell and my leg was trapped under the bike! Thank god my brother was there to left the bike! Anyways I did scratch the derby plate which I replace for like 60bucks for a Scull one! All fix but I found out the clutch bent so I had to replace that for 90 buck and did it my self! It was just the clutch bar! Then I stop riding until I got an engine guard! After that I was very careful and didn’t do something I know I can’t do! All is good with the bike I haven’t dropped it since 2 years ago and had it looked at and had the first 1000 mile service! I love the bike I have about 2000 miles on it! And it’s soooo beautiful and strong! You can easily hit 60-70 with no problems as long as you have the wind shield 80-90 feels scary! But it’s so strong every time I make a turn in a 55zone and speed up I find my self at 50 miles at 3rd gear at 3500rpm to 4000 I would have to quickly shift gears!

    • @J4RK1LL
      @J4RK1LL Před 5 lety

    7:44 one of the main reasons I'm looking at the dyna line is I'm not that tall. I have a Vstar 1100 custom and the forward controls are too far for me. My feet have to be pressed against the pegs instead of resting on them. I find it really uncomfortable and I've been looking and there's no easy option to moving them back.

      SteezBurgerz it's a great bike. I have the 2014 FXDL, and I'm 6'2" with a 33 inseam. It has forwards mounted on it from previous owner. I removed the pad too, but it's VERY comfy. The adjustable riser may move on you though, tighten that up firmly so it doesn't move on you. The 103 scoots great.
      Cons: the exhaust is weak. Sewing machine sound. The headlight is SHIT. Tape a flashlight to the forks, it'll light up better lol. And get a fuel tuner, I chose the FP3. It got rid of the decel popping and smoothed out the throttle so it's not so snatchy.

    Hi Matt love the video's! The adjustable stuff is for when a rider sells his bike on ! he was six foot but the new guy is only five foot six! hence the adjustments in the seat, bars and possible windshield would help! Just a thought! Keep making the video's, I think we need to own at least three Harley's to enjoy all aspects of the different riding style's! My Rocker c I ride around the beautiful island of Cyprus, and on my wish list, a Harley Davidson Breakout, the new Harley street rod, a Heritage Softail, Road King with the new Miwakee 8 motor, or Fat boy, or even a Softail Slim is on my list, once you get it in your blood there is no going back!

    I test rode this bike a few months ago (2016 model). I'm 5'9" and without the back pillow I felt this bike had the best ergonomics of all the dynas because of the position of the foot pegs, are the ergonomics in the lowrider s the same as this? The low rider s is the bike I'm considering the most along with the fat bob. Now You mentioned the fat bob that I also test rode that day and it was the bike that I fell in love with but the feet forward position is a no go for me, I was told it is really expensive to relocate the foot pegs on the fat bob, looking forward for a fat bob video!

      @BFD15i Před 7 lety +1

      I did the same thing. I could not get my hands on a demo LRS, so I rode the LowRider. Bascially, yes: The ergonomics are pretty much the same. The handlebar on the LRS puts you in a bit more agressive / dynamic position (which I like). And the seat on the standard LowRider is way better than the one on the LRS. If you like the ergonomics of the standard model, you will be good with the S model, too.

    Hi Mat, hello from Western Australia. Absolutely love your videos and watch them every day and night. I bought a 2012 Dyna Super Glide in immaculate condition and my spouse wants a Harley now. She is 5’7” and weigh 65kg. She wants a Dyna too but I’m telling her it’s heavy to manoeuvre at slow speeds and around our house in readiness for a ride. Do you think a Sportster would be a better choice? I’m recommending the Street Rod due to ABS, great suspension and handling. She wants that air cooled Harley sound but I said she wouldn’t be too disappointed with the Rod. What do you think?

All my height is in the torso, so these adjustable features would probably really help me to fit the bike to my body. Really liked your review.

    Love the silver & black low rider not likening the bars on it though but the money you save from getting the low rider over the low rider S you can get some after market parts. Oh ya great review to very informative. 👍

    I have an anniversary edition FXDL with harley forward controls.Vance and Hines long shot exhaust. I have a full size harley quick disconnect windshield. It blocks all the wind. I love its power. it runs about 200 at full operating temp when hot. Is that temp about normal???

    Hi, im thinking about buying this bike as my first Harley, when I first went to the dealership I asked for an Iron 883 but they told me that I would get bored of it in one year so thats why I decided to take this one as my first HD. what do you think about it? do you think its too much power for me to get used to? I've tested other bikes like vstrom 650, bmw f700 but man I love Harleys. Please answer. great videos btw

    Hi Matt, first of all Congratulations for all of your reviews!! I´m just trying to make my research about what motorcycle I will buy, I´m between this Low Rider or a Street Bob, I´m 5´9, my first option was the Street Bob but now I See this Low Rider and has some many extra things like the double seat, the double break disc, that the Street Bob doesn´t have but It looks a bit old school like easy rider time, but there´s not much difference in price between this and the Street Bob, I like mini ape handlebars and the look of the Street Bob, and being clear I´m against to keep buying and buying stuff for the motorcycle, and for sure I will have to do it for the Street Bob, so what do you recommend me to buy between each other? One hand the Low Rider has almost what I need talking about the parts, but the Street Bob, man love that agressive looking and the mini apes... I´ve never ridden any of both. You are the expert, do you mind give me your recommendation? Greetings from Mexico City.

    I've got a set of Willie G highway pegs and mounting hardware for older Dyna's with mid mount controls for sale. They really don't work well on the newer Dyna Low Rider's since they moved the mid mount controls 2" forward...message me for details...

    Matt. I enjoy our views, however, you are talking with your blinkers on when you criticise 'adjustability'. I have a 2013 Triumph Trophy (tourer) similar to the BMW Sports-tourer - it has an electronic adjustable screen on the fairing. Adjustability is on the fly by pushing a button on the handle bars. There is a real advantage here, on those beautiful warm days you lower the screen all the way down giving you a sportier riding feel when attacking the mountain roads and more wind, then on the wet days you raise the screen all the way up and you are protected from the weather and those cold days. Then there's all the adjustability in between for different conditions. Don't criticise BMW when you are ignorant on the functionality of having an adjustable wind screen.

    Hey Matt! Once again great video. U make some great uploads man & I appreciate all the effort u put into these. Question: I'm one of those Sportster guys. Im 5' 11" in my 20's. I got my Sporty to learn on, but I love touring & after a couple years have definitely outgrown it. I know the touring models are the way to go U can't argue with the Street Glide but I'm head over heals in love with the Road King!! So my question is: Is the wind you catch on a non-fairing tourer really that taxing?? At what point will I be wishing I had a fairing?? (ps. I hate windshields, I don't have any grandkids! )

    Hay! The FXR is that 1986 bike right? I've heard Waldo's FXR. Waldo is another dude on youtube. I've heard his on the Shade Tree Sergen's channal. Dude that thing was totally a man's bike. Well maybe Waldo put some other pipes on it or something. But if he didn't dude you don't get more manlie man's bike than that. I mean Josh who's the shade tree sergen said that it shook his house. He actually rode it once. It sounded totally cool.
