  • Hello friends, this is a simple mnemonic to remember while you drive in india, to stay safe .
    A- Assess and Anticipate
    B- Be-P and bhp i.e Be Patient and know your cars brake horsepower
    C - Confident and Considerate
    D- Defensive, Distanced and Decisive
    Do leave a comment and let me know what you think is the most difficult among these . I've mentioned what I feel is the most difficult according to me in this episode . See you all in the next video . Goodbye friends !!

    The best video I ve come across regarding safe driving. Now it's clear to me as to why the UK driving std is so high. We simply have no idea how to behave on road here in India. Here driving is all about get set n go. Thanks for this video.

      Hi sir , I loved driving in the UK . Also I was fortunate that I had an excellent driving school instructor who taught me right from the basics . I thoroughly enjoyed all the driving classes that i took . Yes we are years or probably centuries behind the English when it comes to driving etiquette on the road . Its not that nobody there makes any mistakes , there are people who do drive rash there as well , but overall the number of such drivers is significantly lesser there .

      Driving rules in India are similar and as stringent as in the UK or any part of the world.
      It's a shame they aren't followed.
      If you read the Motor Vehicles Act and a book provided by the RTO, you will come to the conclusion that if we start implementing these rules 98 of 100 drivers are going to fail.

      @@ikshitness You're absolutely correct . We do have the Motor Vehicles Act and a full set of rules . But not even once did my driving school instructor mention it to me . And like you said, not many even know that it exists. There's a channel called Cyberabad Traffic Police. Though it is mainly in Telugu, they keep regularly quoting the Motor Vehicles Act in their awareness videos .

    What an amazing video. Today, for the first time, I drove my Seltos like crazy on Hyderabad Yadadri highway. I touched 130 - 140 few times as I was in a hurry. I reached my destination but I regretted my driving after reaching it. Of all the days why did I watch this video only today when I drove poorly. This God sent video is a wake up call for me to be careful here onwards. Anything could have gone wrong and only I would have been responsible for the consequences.

    The thing I like about your approach to safe driving is that you find mistakes in situations that didn't go wrong, but could have gone wrong. And you went into concepts like reespecting other road users, considering extended possibilities, etc.
    A different combo of environmental situation might've meant we could've ended far worse.

      Yes i agree with you that we are not at all considerate to fellow road users . I just made a video about being patient and considerate, and remembered that someone had mentioned a comment about our country not being ' considerate ' in one of the comments, and started searching all the comments and found you . Pls do watch it when you get some time .

    This should be part of the road safety all across India. Specially in Hyderabad and cities where rash driving is at pinnacle. And also this should be made available to driving instructors.

    Gem for video, thank you so much for making this. I do follow everything that you mention, I believe the road is a shared resource and everyone has equal rights on it. just because I have a bigger car or a faster car doesn't mean I can bully anyone. I also give lot of respect to the truck drivers and bus drivers who put their life on line to earn some living.

      This is wonderful to read . Thank you for sharing your thoughts . Yes I agree with you , that people generally think ' I have a bigger / faster car , so I need to be given more space ' I generally let those driving faster to go past me , but the bigger cars need to be considerate to the smaller cars and bikes , because the road is for everyone , not just for them . A little bit of patience , to stay safe as they drive , and within no time they can overtake the other vehicles and go especially on the highways. It will just take a few seconds of waiting thats all . Patience needs to be practised , may not happen overnight , takes time to inculcate , but is do-able .

    Sir you are an absolute gem! I believe if we just have patience, most of the work would be done.
    I just started driving 6 years back and I have realised that unnecessary over speeding (@120-130 kmph) and rash manoeuvres can only save 5-10mins in a 2 hour trip, so why put yourself, your relatives and others at risk.
    If even 50% in India start driving like you, there would be a huge decline in the number of accidents and road rage issues.

    • @drivesafedearindia
      @drivesafedearindia  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you so much for your valuable appreciation and encouragement sir . Yes even if it's only very few who watch these videos change AND their driving style and become safer, and if there's even a small reduction in the number of accidents on the road, then the purpose of this channel is served . Thank you again .

    Most of the accidents happen in India due to human error. This video is an eye opener by collating most of the common scenarios one can come across while driving. Key to safe driving like you mentioned is PATIENCE and keeping safe distance from the car ahead of you whether you are driving in city or on the highway.

    • @drivesafedearindia
      @drivesafedearindia  Před 2 lety +1

      Agreed , patience is the most difficult but it will come to you . Practice practice and practice !!!! Like you said , cannot overemphasize the importance of keeping a safe distance irrespective of which road you're driving on .

I have improved a lot over the years , but still sometimes I end up being impatient especially on the highways . Need to work on that . Thanks for your comment .
