I love that it doesn't specify which Lily, while implying it's both of them. Original Lily needed to be comforted by her inner child, just as she needed to remind the child she was that none of it was her fault and everything will be okay.

I am a Lillie (Lily) that was abused by my father. So I don't know if it was just the fact that it was my name or what, but it was genuinely weird but nice to hear that. I've never really felt myself parallel to a game this much, or have one speak to me so clearly. But I think I needed it. I just wish I watched this when it first came out so I could hear it sooner.

Someone mentioned that the attic secret is a flashback of the original Lily discovering her mother had hung herself in the rafters.
I'm realizing that this secret gives a new meaning to the father mentioning he is trying to remake Lily "without the trauma" in ending 10.
When he says it at first, you can assume he means the trauma of Lily's death loop, but by recreating a "perfect Lily" the father may have actually been trying to erase the death of original Lily's mother which had been the catalyst for Lily to go down a rebelious route in order to cope.
From what I remember, the flashback starts with the original Lily's mother stating "I'm leaving, and I'm taking our child with me." It makes more sense if the father killed her and staged it as a suicide.
I was looking for the attic ending after I saw this, but never found it. good land...
That true ending is perfect. As someone who grew up with an abusive parent I can tell the writer here did too and there was something very cathartic about that ending. I went into this game expecting every ending to be horrible and accepted that but when that call went through I became so worried that something horrible would happen before she was able to get her freedom. I'm so glad that it didn't.
I don't know if I can add much to this comment other than how, like, weirdly comforting it is to be called out by name? I legit started crying, AND I DON'T CRY???? Like, I came into this video series expecting a horror game with a lot of gore and dark themes, and then the true ending came around and I was sucker-punched in the gut at 2 am. Good game, good writing, good story, good message, now I need to draw fanart
If I recall correctly, the ladder in the pantry is accessed by chance. Player needs to reenter the room several times to trigger the ladder scene, which, let's just say, is probably the cause of the original Lily to leave the house

When you make it to the attic it turns into a flashback of the original lily with blonde hair walking in on a woman hung from the ceiling. I'm assuming it's the mother
there is also a secret area in the 8th rope ending behind the fan in the vents. looks like some type of ritual happened.
Forgot to mention to get to the attic you have to enter and exit the pantry several times to activate it.

The ending made me cry. This game is such a strange, sick twist of the “mad scientist loses his child and tries to manufacture a replacement” that we’ve seen in many of Matpat’s iconic plays like FNAF and Poppy Playtime. I was worried Lily wouldn’t have a happy ending or she’d try to stop OG Lily, I’m so glad she got some revenge in the end.

As someone with an abusive parent, this was terrifying and cathartic all at once. 'my daughter isn't perfect so I'll make a new one until she BEHAVES' hits a whole new meaning when your parent considers you a failure irl.

It's actually impossible to finish the game with version 2. First of all, I'm pretty sure you start with version 4 or 5. Aside from that, you need to get all 10 deaths for the true ending. If you don't, the original Lily hangs up after a bit of conversation. I'm pretty sure the Game Grumps tried this. That being the case, the earliest version you can win with is 14 or 15.

The mercury symbol is also I’m important in alchemy. The symbol in alchemy represents the mind and a state that transcends death. I think it would be more useful to look through all the symbols through an alchemy lens

There is a secret ending connected to the vent ending that apparently has connections to another game by the same creator, don't know too much about it though.
I think it's the game Faith, since the scream sounds familiar. Also they're both pixel horror games

After killing the guy at the bottom of the well and seeing the message about the ladder to the attic there’s a chance of the ladder appearing every time you enter the pantry (so you could just walk in and out until you encounter it) and on the eighth floor you can use the shears on the fan to enter the painting-room

Side note: I think they should also play Your Turn to Die! It's currently unfinished and would make for a great theory!
I find the dichotomy of a relationship between an aged original and a younger clone interesting, and honestly sounds really cool!

I can help with finding the last 3 endings I think it's 3 left can't remember
1. The bacon one is one ending
2. The attic door is unlocked by going in and out of the pantry multiple times
3. And the Ma ending is by taking 8 ropes down the well going to the vent, taking the shredder and jamming it into the fan

4. Go to the bottom of the well and go up to where papa is (again)
5. create a rope with all the bad materials you can find.

6. Get all 14 possible ropes (good and bad) and throw it all in the trashcan beside the mailbox

Yes! So glad that y’all continued the game! I saw so many people (including myself) requesting that y’all play and I’m glad that y’all decided to finish it. Thank you. And I loved the pixel intro, by the way. I was also disappointed to see that Mirror Matt didn’t put the recipe in the description. And I’m glad to have now learned not to eat cheese before eating the main meal, we would usually have a sausage and cheese plate before as an appetizer.

Spoiler time: With the very last ending of Lily meeting her original self and them hugging deeply just made me cry because it reminded me when my grandma was still alive and how much she loved me and always cared about me, sadly it's never been the same since. There is an attic secret ending and its super scary and unsettling which helps clear up the lore (connecting it to the creators other game as well as help explain the archives)

When i played through i got the attic randomly, i'm sure there are specific steps to get it, but you find out what happened to lily's mom. Also you can use the shears on the fan in the vent to get a different ending for 8 ropes. and there is a third outfit that is basically what original lily is wearing.

Ash's allergy story made me think about my own struggles with tomatoes. I was allergic to tomatoes as a young child, eating tomatoes made the skin in and around my mouth break out in hives. The thing is that you can outgrow allergies, but back in the day my mom nor me knew that. But I slowly started to introduce tomatoes to my food in my 20's and now tomato soup is one of my absolute favourite food ever!
I'm still allergic to tomato PLANTS though, I grew my own tomatoes some years ago and touching the plats made my hands all red and itchy.
So happy they're finishing this game!

😂 Now I know the expression “soup to nuts” and it’s meaning. I HAVE to start using it! Great finale and play through of Lilly’s well! This video was significantly the most fun to watch out of all the other Lilly’s Well videos (especially the goofy frog raincoat part LOL)!

The attic does have some lore when the ladder appears. Also my favorite ending involves collecting all the rope and then throwing it away in the trash can by the road. Glad to see you got to the lovely ending! I have enjoyed this game so much and I'm glad you did too!

there's not really enough content to make another video on Lily's Well, but the attic ending and the secret vent ending are both good to get just to know a bit more about the lore of the game. specifically those two endings relate to lily's mother(?). stuff like who she was and why she's no longer a part of the situation.
im really glad you guys decided to make another episode!! but i think this game deserves a little more of a look through even if you just do it on your own time- there is more in the vents (shears come in handy) and might need to spam going in and out of the pantry :)

Funny story: i also was told that i was allergic to dairy for a long time because i threw up quite a bit but one night my dad was up eating a very big cheese wheel for some reason and he asked me if i wanted some and i reminded him i had dairy but he said that i actually didn't and it was all just because i had too much Gatorade at a young age.

Maybe it was created anew for Lily v2, but because of her lack of experience, her soul wasn’t like.. i dunno made rounded by memories and stuff
Seems to imply it was artificially created using alchemy and certain plants. I think the Elric brothers would have something to say about that though.
