That second turn he missed had absolutely no signs! There should be better signaling for the turns. It literally made the difference of coming 1st (possibly) or 3rd.

26:30 You think it should end here, but let's have some fun with steps further down the mountain.
27:12 That jump hurt. Slipped off the pedal? / 27:24 Nice short cut.
30:19 There's that blue shirt again. Is he tired? No. He disappeared again.

Maybe, they could make direction flags bigger than a postcard... 🤔

The Mountain Of Hell is one of my favorite event of the season. Physical, YES...I agree^^ but a lot of fun between each racer. Landscapes are also crazy and I can't wait to return here this summer ;)
I've always wondered about taking the wrong route/turn, many of the videos I watch I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often.
If I was in a race I'd have to follow a group of riders..

Superbe descente! Un départ rapide mais prudent, tu évites le gros crash du début, une course intelligente quand le mec revient sur toi tu prends sa roue avant de mettre une mine, une maîtrise exceptionnelle du vélo et je me demande comment tu fais pour t'orienter à cette vitesse!

Vous faites combien de descentes de repérage sur une course comme ça ? Et il reste un peloton derrière ou tout le monde fini par être très espacé au final ? J'imagine pas les passages en forêt avec 20 personnes qui se tirent la bourre !

That was unbelievable. I know we are looking through a camera lens, but how in the hell do you know where the trail is at those speeds? Obviously, you can't go that fast without really knowing the track. You would think the trail would be marked better than it is. The video prior to this was in dry conditions with the sun setting with dust and light angle the trail disappeared in the forest area. All I can say is wow, the rider was really good, thanks for sharing, this is good stuff!

Kilian may have some of the best legs in the game. Guy pedals like an absolute madman.
the sportsmanship between these guys is something other sportsmen should start introducing in their respective sports. Even at the end when Kilian went the wrong way, he kept going, kept pushing and he congratulated the others at the finish line. Absolutely great ! AND...you guys are all nut-cases :-) visibility at the top of those gorgeous mountains was ZERO and you just went down at full speed nonetheless ! CRAAAAAAAZY

Really really great video! The damn signs for the right path are often very bad to see! They have to arrange bigger signs! The biker have enough to do to drive! That's my opinion.
They are riding with 40-50 km/h and they expect riders to read signs with font 11 or smaller?
