    Ben idk why you don’t get 100k views . You saved me tons in mechanic shops. Some shops didn’t even want to work on my vehicle and here I am riding this 160k miles ford till the wheels fall off .

    Great Videos! I just rebuilt my 14 focus transmission by using your videos. I didn't use any special tools. I already have torx bits and the clutch actuator tools. It drives great! I was having issues with stick clutch fork B but it's driving smooth now. I wouldn't have been able to do it without you. The only thing that I can suggest to others is to price out some of tge sensor's on the transmission. They could be damaged during removal or installation so you might save some money by removing them before removal and installing them after installation. I'm not a mechanic. The only snags I had were ball joint removal, driver side axle removal and i broke Input Shaft Speed Sensor 2. I also removed the intake manifold for easier access to the flywheel bolts. It's also a good thing that I did because it's a Direct Injection engine and the intake valves were caked with carbon so I went ahead and cleaned them while I had everything apart. Thanks for the great videos Ben.

    Got 215k on the original clutches in mine, thinking of doing the replacement myself soon, thank you for being such a wealth of knowledge on these problem boxes, seeing it done the way you have before gives me confidence to take it on in my driveway.

    Ben, i really appreciate all the knowledge you share with everyone about these transmissions and focus. Im currently getting parts together for my 2012. Thanks to you i was able to find a 2014 focus TCM K05 out the junkyard to replace the K00 in my 2012. Saved me TONS of money! Thank you so much!
    I do have a question though.... When trying to source a dual clutch kit with forks ive noticed Luk has 2 different part numbers. My question is, which part number do you suggest for replacement?
    Again, thanks for all your videos and i have gladly subbed to your channel.

    Big Ben good stuff, were are planning on doing the same job, but what's your take on putting a hole in the transmission housing, plug it. So you can have access to blow it out once while to help mitigate the dust.

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  Před 4 měsíci

      Hi, I've never done that, but it seems like a good idea. Except for, the dust needs somewhere to go. It'll make a big cloud inside there and won't come out of that little hole

    • @francoisoosthuizen6663
      @francoisoosthuizen6663 Před 4 měsíci

      What about washing it out with brake clean through that hole?

    • @vidaiautomation
      @vidaiautomation Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@francoisoosthuizen6663I've done it. I drilled 3 holes. 2 just above each actuator and 1 at the bottom next to the block for drainage. The brake clean works but the problem is that when it's sprayed into an area where there is no air it creates a ton of moisture which creates rust on the forks and the clutch pack. I found this out after removing the trans after. But honestly.... Blowing out the dust doesn't do anything because the fork roller bearings are probably already clogged and once that happens you're screwed. The trans needs to come out.

      @@vidaiautomation Thanks for the info. Won't be doing that then.

      I drilled a hole next to clutch actuator A, actuator B and the bottom of the bell housing. It worked for about 3 months. I did the cleaning again and it worked fine but I went ahead and ordered everything to rebuild it. It drive but I went ahead and rebuilt it by using Ben's video this weekend. I'm thinking about blowing it out every few oil changes. I tapped out the holes and cut some bolts short enough to not interfere with the innards. I used copper washers so moisture won't get in the housing. I was blowing out a lot of dust and when I opened the transmission it wasn't quite as dusty as some of the videos I've watched. My 14 Focus has 255k miles on it. Let's see how much more life I can squeeze out of it.

    Great video. Is this the most common problem with this transmission? I have only heard they're bad, but this repair doesn't look to be substantial labor wise.

    • @BigBensCarsAndCycles
      @BigBensCarsAndCycles  Před 4 měsíci

      Yeah the clutch or apply components are the most common failure. Or if you have the original tcm that fails. But the updated design Ford oem tcm doesn't fail

    I'm getting a po7A4 code. My reverse isn't working and only few forward gears but now it's only looking first gear. Last week I could go top speed and now only a few forward gears up to 20 mph.
    Ford is telling me clutch and forks ?
    Should I try to replace actuators? I switch the bottom and top with no change in performance. They do spin smoothly.
