Just got an email indicating my order has been shipped. You make the installation process look very easy and doable for the nonprofessionals. But I’ll be watching this video few more times to make sure my installation goes smoothly.
Make sure to note that we have updated the harness and there is no longer the white connector to the top screen. Instead, you will only connect the blue GVIF cables to the top screen. @@BeatSonicUSust finished installing the unit in my wife’s 2017 RX 450h. I spent about 90 minutes, which includes watching the video 2-3 times, to successfully install the unit. It was actually not that hard, mostly because the wiring diagram that came with the unit was spot on and Eric’s instructional videos aren’t missing any steps. From disassembling the dash to setting up the wireless connection, it was very easy to follow the directions and most of all, the thing looks factory! 감사합니다

Are panel removal tools included with purchase?
Also can the equipment be installed “behind “ the radio unit like in the video for the non-wireless box?
Hi KJ, panel removal tools are not included with the purchase. You may purchase the panel removal tools from a local harbor freight store for a few dollars. The equipment can fit behind the radio but I don’t recommend fitting them behind the radio as it risks damaging the interface boxes.

Thank you! Never tried removed that plastic trim above the glove box. I would try using a panel removal tool and pry it out
Hey, I had a quick question about this type of install. Is there something you have to do every time you get in the car in order to enable the CarPlay/Android Auto interface? It seems like you just have to hold the Map or Menu button every time you start it up? Other than that, does the car just automatically stay on the Aux input all the time without you needing to mess with it every time? Does it work as expected when phone calls come through?
Correct, just need to long press the map/home button. It will be in aux if you last used it in aux. phone will connect automatically via wireless

Long press menu only. The voice button on the steering wheel is locked to the Lexus voice system. Unfortunately we are not offering any specials at the moment

Have you done upgrade on any 2007-2010 lexus rx 350 ? Is it possible add 360 degree camera on the this period vehicles due to no blind spot system? thanks
We haven’t unfortunately. We currently don’t have a solution for 07-10 RX models
When you install this system can still also use the original Lexus system? For instance if you lose or forget to bring your phone.
Yes you keep all the original lexus functions

LC500 should already have carplay. If not contact your local dealer and they may install with a firmware update
Is it possible to install this on RX450h 2017 Korean edition? Korean RX models have split screen on by default and is impossible to turn it off. So the carplay module would need to only show on the left 2/3 screen or need to override the split screen setting by flashing the firmware..

Are you able to connect to a standalone device to add Netflix app or CZcams app?
We haven’t tested it but it may work
How does this work with both reverse camera and the 360 Birds Eye view camera? Do they both continue to work, and do they both work as quickly as they do with the factory setup?
Does the touchscreen functionality work in CarPlay? ie can I type in an address on maps, does it support multitouch to zoom in maps?
Also, why is the resolution limited to 480p for CarPlay?
Another question, ive seen on other aftermarket solutions for other cars that doing stuff like adjusting the ac temperature will momentarily turn off CarPlay, does that happen with this one?
The reverse camera and 360 camera, parking sensors and camera triggers will also function normally even when you are in carplay/AA mode. Just like factory Lexus. And yes, all the camera and triggers function as quick as they do factory set up. Since we re use the factory screen, the screen won’t be converted to touchscreen. You will instead use the mouse controller to navigate through the Carplay functions. Yes you can type in an address on maps. Since the mouse controller uses a cursor, there are no multitouch to zoom but you can use the zoom buttons on the map control buttons on the screen.
Factory screen is 1280x480 ratio and screen. We matched Carplay to show a native carplay resolution. Android Auto offers 1280x720, which is the closest to 1280x480
That was our old version. We used to have that function but removed it due to requests to have that function removed. In addition, the RX has a temperature indicator and climate control buttons in your center console that you can use which shows what mode you are on. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Will HUD display navigation if I will use google maps on car play?
HUD works with factory nav only unfortunately

Absolutely, the backup camera will show the backup camera and sensors if you have them. Front sensors will also show as well

On android auto, using Google maps, can you have the satellite view instead of the default drawing view?
Yes you change this in your Google Maps setting through your phone.
HI Eric, I had someone install the unit. MY problem is that when a call comes in the music stops while ringing, when I answer my phone i cannot hear the caller and the music resumes. The caller can heat me, but I cannot hear the caller? I have done tried resetting the unit and watching utube videos, but still does not work, Have you heard of this before?

Hi, quick question, in Lexus RX450h 2016 when I start to drive slowly 360 camera switches on automatically, will it do the same when in Apple Car play mode? And will it go back to Apple Car play when I increase the speed automatically? Same question for reversing? Many thanks, Leo
Yes the 360 cam and backup cam functions will remain the same even when in carplay mode. So the 360 cam will interrupt when slowing down and go back to carplay screen when speeding up. In addition, backup cam will show when you put the car into reverse gear
