Raccoons raining down, literally!

- I try to film larger numbers of raccoons in the woods right before dark. There are lots of moms and babies all around. Even Cutie Monster is in the group. All of a sudden, a huge branch with raccoons on it comes crashing down from high up. All the raccoons get scared, and I'm nervous that someone has died from the fall. I slowly approached the area in question to see a momma raccoon checking on her baby. She's very rattled and possibly broke her tail. I assume she and her babies survived the fall. Her adrenaline is high, and from far away, she runs at me, sending me running full speed down a wooded hill. I'm quickly learning that the dynamics on my patio doesn't translate over to the woods.

Whew, luckily there were no injuries from that branch falling, that we know of! Cutie as always is a sweetheart -- and so many Raccoons and babies there today!

Raccoons are like cats as far as bone structure. I saw Clyde fall from 10 feet out of a tree and he walked off like nothing happened.
I'm guessing this was from 20-30 feet high.
@OONSDAY falling from a tree is better than getting hit by a car. My baby coon that was hit by a car lived 2 days. My son would have been better off leaving it for another car to hit him and put out of his misery. I talked to a local vet and it's illegal for them to work on wildlife and the conservation vets put almost all injured wildlife down. So sad to see them hurt and suffering! He has a burial next to my other loved animals.

It may be other animals knocking over the water bowls cause they’re drinking too.
U may need a couple of buckets. Glad they’re coming out.
You may still need the back pack cause these babies are coming in more and more. Cutie has such a beautiful coat.
I do the backpack 1-2 times a day and a smaller bag full 1-2 times a day.

Cutie Monster seems to have you pegged as the source of raccoon goodness, I hope the kits pick up on that. You'll have to get a bigger backpack!

I didn’t think I could enjoy the Oons any more than I did when you shot the videos in your yard. Seeing them in their natural habitat is absolutely the best!! I realize this way is harder for you. I admire your dedication to these wonderful creatures. I appreciate you taking us along on your journey. Could you maybe bring a few apples for the deer? Is there a way your viewers can contribute to help you continue to buy dog food peanuts and cookies. With help maybe you could add a little more protein for the new moms. Another lover of raccoons gives them chicken hot dogs.
I'm unlikely to take apples for the deer. There's such an abundance of plants for them this time of year. Maybe in the winter? I got really beautiful footage in the woods yesterday while another park goer sat in the woods and watched me in amazement. I had to go explain the situation. I'm worried my secret place won't stay secret.
There are those bowl for dogs that are wider at the bottom than the top. They might be better for staying up. Or maybe a wide and low dish bowl would work?
