It was such a great book adaptation! I think the book goes beyond this point and the movie to me felt like "Part 1" but it was such a great stand alone if that makes sense! I remember him going to the prison to talk to his brother for instance.

I’m so glad you reacted to this movie, I feel like it got overlooked during the actors strike and it feels like not enough people are talking about it. I saw it in the theater last year when it came out and i loved it so much, I immediately bought both books and read them back to back. Such a great story in book and movie form!

I think this movie is especially easier to overlook bc it didn't get distributed outside of the US. At least I don't think so bc I didn't see any screening in my country and I had to use a sketchy streaming website to watch it since I don't have a VPN :/ Since the book it's based on is dated from over ten years ago, maybe the excitement around its movie adaptation was lesser compared to shows/movies like Heartstopper and RWRB too... Idk 😔
