Love the 3rd generation chargers! My favorite is the 73se! Sweet car! Can’t wait to see it on the road!

This gives me flashbacks. I had the exact same car (1971 Charger SE) in 1981. I bought it as my first car at 18. Had the 383 with an Edelbrock Torker on it which I'm sure the previous owner installed, 4 speed manual trans with a Hurst pistol grip shifter, even the color was identical. Looking in the engine bay brought me right back to my wrenching days on this beast. Had some awesome times in that car! Thanks for the memories!!

Had a 71 Superbee with 3 in the floor and 383 magnum engine with the air grabber on the hood and light covers. My dad who bought it new in 71 gave it to me in 1982. I loved the car but ended up selling it for $500 while I was overseas in the Navy. Biggest mistake I ever made with a vehicle and I certainly regret it.

Watching in 2024; where might a young aspiring car hand acquire one of these beauties as a project build because I want one in the '71-'73 year gap and can still be built into the car.

Definitely like the '68-'70 best, but the '71 and '72 are the best looking Chargers after 1970.
Was that Holley carb original to the 383?

Yes, according to the current owner.

......and all N code 383's in 1971 underwent a compression drop, and were down rated to 300 hp.

What's with the need to diss others? I'd love to restore an old AE86 Corolla, just like I'd love to restore an old Charger.

13.40's is extremely strong for a stock 383.
