You make it look easy guys! Turned out great.
Good stuff, convince that man to do his driveway as well that was cracked all over
Great job! Great video! ❤❤❤
you can use bricks for slab on grade as a substitue for chairs, just break the cement bricks to size needed to chair the rebar.
Fabulous job with a great look at the skill and detail 🎉
Thank you very much!
Hey David. Love your videos. Always learn a new trick or two. I use the rebar truck to split the quick Crete bags. I was burned and raised in Orange and many of your locations are very familiar. Thanks again. Tom from Utopia, Texas.
Nice work brother.👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Nice job
No job is too small to post on this channel. We appreciate them all.
Would you rather do a concrete job that has 5 days worth of work, or 5 smaller jobs that takes a day each?
Probably 5 smaller jobs more videos for everyone 😁
Very Nice !
They definitely need a shed - they have everything including the kitchen sink back there.
hey Timmy, I just want to tell you I love your work! I could permanently watch videos made by you and TY every week as opposed to your dads' videos, the ones you siblings make are Fa nominal and very engaging! maybe you and TY should start your own channel this coming year called Odell Complete Concrete(next generation)! by the way Iam eternally extremely sorry about my comment about jimmy when you made your last video, those were very ugly assumptions on my part, that are not in any way an accurate reflection of the kind of person Iam or want to be! hope you forgive me because I respect the hell out of people like you and TY!
Jim great job on the video you almost make it to easy to do the work. Question how long would a Garage slab 8” 34’X 42’ with footing on a slight slop. Where are you located?
You should always have a stone base.
Is there a general contractor who goes back and takes out the forms and cleans up the grass edge or do you do that later?
Thanks for explaining the rebar, by the way; I had been wondering that.
Concrete was a little too wet coming out wouldn’t you say? Pretty sure that’s what was causing the lines when bull floating.
Nope. The water will evaporate
@@RHEC1776it’s still super wet ,wouldn’t try In freezing state, I’ve done concrete for 13 years and that’s the wettest ever seen!
So question why isn't there any gravel. Aren't you supposed to put concrete on top of gravel for it to be a stable home Foundation?___?
It's just a pad for a shed, no weight, so need for gravel. Even the rebar was overkill, mesh would have been fine.
Great job team 👏💕👍 Surprised you used a pump on this lil job and on a cool day. Maybe you've got good rates on a quick jobs like this. 🤔
Yeah my pumper family works at the concrete plant and gives us good deals
Bloody freaking legend bro👏 full sending never lifting 😏 🤙 mobbin deep 🙌 have a good weekend bro ty for the video n preach when boots hit the ground the book goes out the window book just guidelines real world is way different than book for majority of situations
Bingo

How much to pour a 40x60 6" slab. Both materials and paying a company
Great
Decent pour. More attention on keeping concrete of the walls.
A pour that small l like to use a mixer!!!!
Greetings from Southern California
The Masonry Company
Is your name Tim or Tyler?
Tim my brothers name is Tyler and mixing by hand would have costed just as much if not more becuae of labor and how much concrete was needed
@@OdellCompleteConcrete alright Tim
I do mix 2 yards with a mixer which only cost me $300
A helper and myself can have it mix in 1.5 hour
A pump and short load fee will set me back $1100.00
I don't charge much out here in The Inland Empire
My name is Felix, owner of The Masonry Company
@@OdellCompleteConcrete will like to help you guys out one day on any small jobs
i’m looking to have a similar project done- what would you say is a good cost estimate for something like this? i’m also in socal
Just curious, how do you decide between using hand tools to cut joints in the concrete when wet instead of saw cutting joints much later?
It’s simple you wanna get paid that day and never have to come back or come back another day to saw cut and then get paid ? Pretty sure most concrete guys would rather tool in the joints so they don’t have to come back
Few different reasons to hand took the joints. You wanna get paid and onto the next job, customer wants a border, it’s just a broom finish or temperature/weather. The longer you wait the higher the risk of a crack forming before your expansion joint is in place. Also, some stamping patterns just look better if you saw cut
@@Treehandleryeah your wrong. Concrete steps up faster on hot weather right? So when it’s hot out the concrete can be set up enough to do the saw cuts in 4 hours. But I’f it’s cold out that time can be like severa days. That’s how he chooses what to do and it was all on Google
Not bad, not bad
You should go back to some previous projects and show us what they look like now, fully furnished, landscaped, structures built, etc. (the stuff the owner did after your concrete work). enjoy your videos, thx
Thas a nice touch
dobies suck cause the rebar will trip you up when pouring, also it was a pain to dig down to get the height correct. because like you said the factory chairs arent practical for residential use. 3.5" slab is plenty for cars, 2.5 to 3 for a simple lawnmower shed. Thanks for Carrying on the odell trade. I was hoping to see though details about cleanliness, bond and finishing details against the house.
Why not bring the concrete all the way to the corner of the house?
Can we have more David please?
I wish
How much concrete did you use, what kind of aggregate (radius) and how much the client payed for this job?
3 yds.
2500.
3/8" rock
3000 psi
@@OdellCompleteConcrete
3 yds is 2,3 cubic meter
2500 is ?
3/8” is 0,5-10mm
3000 psi is around 20 mpa
I’m sorry, I misspoke. How much is this quantity and type of concrete to buy from the plant?
Thanks, great videos.
ps Do you have a video where you work on doing a whole street, like a small ally from concrete, maybe a slope. Cheers.
Question: why rent a pump, looked like the truck could have made it into the back yard
Yeh and snap the 💩 out of the existing slab. 😂😂 you know how much that Crete truck weighs
No truck wouldn’t have made it plus the driveway was a shared driveway between neighbors and didn’t want to block the neighbors.
Привет ! Ровняют и ровняют бетон , , да , хорошо выглядит . 8:39 зачем он опять полез гладить , бетон же и так ровный ..?
Why use rebar when you can just add fiber mesh to the mix?
Good point
How would you tie it in to the existing slab without rebar?
@@user-vb3ly7ib4r Good point
Time for you all to start doing jobs up north, bay area;)
I concur, big money
@@OdellCompleteConcrete let us know when you will be doing work up this way (San Francisco South bay area).
How much is a job like this cost?
2200
There are also low profile “dobies” available……but you already knew that, …..or didn’t you??
2" but it's still to high
@@OdellCompleteConcrete NO, you just hammer them down with your hammer into sub base soil or gravel to lower dobies. But, you already knew that, didn’t you??
@efrentroncoso6471 you sound like an A$$hole, but you knew that, or didn't you? 😂
Why a pumper?
Makes the job smoother
First I think
What I don't understand is the owner of this house made a short concrete pad when he could have made it the length of that little garage makes no sense??
I talked to him about that but didn’t want it for some reason
❤❤❤👌👌👌👍👍👍💪💪💪💯💯💯⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can't believe you don't use rebar chairs wtf??!@??!!
That's a joke for 4" concrete
You can call out those know-it-alls all day, they (think they) are always right anyway... It's almost always someone who hasn't been on an actual jobsite in the real world, or someone who has been doing the same thing for 2 to 20 years and think their way is the only correct way of doing said thing.
Should have covered the wall with plastic before pouring 😢
Yeah would have been a good idea but we did clean it afterwards
You know Santa?
This guy actually plays as Santa at the mall
Where is david?
AZ
Where the old man?
Instead of hiring a finisher thats what!??( $350 to $400 dollars )
Why not finish it yourself???🤦♂️
I was out running bids this day
The finish was absolutely disgraceful that’s why you brushed it….otherwise why would you broom a shed pad?
It’s not just a shed pad we are also using this as a walkway and with walkways you need to broom the surface so no one slips and falls. Concrete gets very slippery when it’s not broomed.
@@OdellCompleteConcrete title of video easy small concrete extension shed SLAB pour, the finish was terrible concrete far to wet 1 pass on the knee boards would have been fine instead of keep messing with it, and yes I’m a concrete guy before you ask 35 years in the game
