Thirty years ago, aliens arrive on Earth. Not to conquer or give aid, but to find refuge from their dying planet. Separated from humans in a South African area called District 9, the aliens are managed by Multi-National United, which is unconcerned with the aliens' welfare but will do anything to master their advanced technology. This was such a great movie, it had so many aspects that reflected on our historical to current conditions in human treatment, using "aliens" as a prop for how certain nations/ demographics are towards fellow humans. Europeans and Indigenous Americans and Mexicans, Europeans and African nations, Europeans and Australia's indigenous, Europeans and Canada's indigenous, Europeans and New Zealand's indigenous, etc. This movie does not need a sequeal, the point is made. Those who start to show empathy and are treated like thr downtrodden, is only when people become aware of the horrors of their mistreatment.

great film. main character went from totally insufferable to beloved and redeemed. its a shame we never got a follow up film

We need a sequel its long over due
It’s definitely one of those movies that could have a sequel to. A time jump forward kind of thing and we see the aliens migrating into foreign countries etc. as a take on todays current political climate
Absolutely not. Current Hollywood would ruin it. Less is more.
Wikus was so abnocius in the beginning, in my opinion he got whtpat he deserved, but he reddemed himself towards the end, such an awesome character.
