  • My ideal Adventure bike platform and what it should and should not be, keep in mind that this build is still in progress. It simply checks all the correct boxes in what i want out of a medium Adventure motorcycle...

    Awesome, I'll try it.
I've noticed that the engine are laying down. I haven't noticed till now.
That very unique, only saw it on husaberg of the past.
    Good job. Thanks a lot

@FranksWay in my thinking on this project, can I strip down all that plastic?
This is road bikes plastic that will brake down easily....
And what about the weight 🤔?
My rote of thinking, that It will be easier to go the grave yard of motorcycle, and saerch the triple clamp that will fit, same in the back.

The bikes are buolt solid, that is why i buy a used bike cheap and do my conversion, for the bike i add crashbars to protect the plastics.Yes you can buy a NC stem from a scrapyard and pre build a suspension of your choice and just slide it in.

I am biased but I think you are spot on. The 17" front is the biggest issue with the NC Off-road. I have ridden my NC700 with all kinds of adventure bikes off-road, DR650s, BMWF800s, KLR, Africa twins, etc. When it gets rough I have to go slower and be more careful about picking my line but I haven't ran into a place where they could go that I couldn't and at times the NC is better. Muddy hills is a great example. With the instant off-idle torque on the NC, I have been able to easily climb where other bikes needed more RPM to get the torque and therefore spin their way up the hill where I just motored on up with no drama. DR650 riders say my NC feels about the same weight even though it is heavier. Others have been amazed at the off idle torque. I call my NC my little mule because she doesn't seem to care how much weight I pack. She actually seems better with a bit of luggage weight on the rear. Lightens up the front.
On the half a Fit engine. That came about because of a joke one of the lead engineers made based on the fact that they did go to the Fit engine designers to learn about making a fuel efficient engine and continued to use them as consultants on the design so yes it has some similar characteristics as the Fit engine but is no way near being half a Fit engine. I bought mine the first summer available in the U.S. and read everything I could find on it at the time.

Thank you very much for your comment, i am busy changing the rear wheel currently...and i cant wait to take it out to the mud holes...the NC will be a great bike for a light adventure bike, and certainly is more capable than meets the eye...you certainly understand your bikes 👌👌

Interesting comments. KTM 1090 & 1190 & 1290 all came with a 21 inch front wheel option however.
