- That's right, in this video I show you how to turn a piece of rain gutter from a house in to a custom, stylish side skirt for under $68 total. I used PVC (plastic) gutter and included plastic aero bits from Amazon.

Good go see other people going this route. When we did ours it got a lot of backlash, but then the video has remained our top video every year for a month 😂
People love saving money! Appreciate the comment!
I like expensive and nice shit, but I absolutely love clever and creative ways to achieve a desired result on a budget. Anyone that has hate for this is just mad because they spent all summer delivering pizzas so they can save up for a rocket bunny kit that turned out to be a fake.
Well that's given me flashbacks. :D
Back when I had my Lexus IS200 (A "Sport", with factory fitted "Aero", and "Navigator" packs no less ! 😎 🤣) I wanted a cheap sacrificial splitter for the front bumper, but I couldn't find any sheets of thick black PVC for an acceptable price, so I bought a length of black 6" waste pipe. I split it, put it on a sheet of OSB and pointed a torpedo heater at it for 20 minutes to soften it right up. I then just unrolled it and let it cool. The beauty of using a tube was that I didn't need to split it in a straight line. I cut a large curve in it that almost went all the way round at the middle, so when unrolled it turned into a large flat arc (sort of banana shaped).
Because the front bumper on that had a raised section in the middle I then put the sheet of PVC back on the OSB board with another piece of wood of the right width and height to create this bit, and torpedo heatered it again until it sagged to the right shape.
Once shaped I screwed it to the underside of the bumper, trimmed it to follow 1.5" out from it's lower edge, and sanded it smooth. To finish it I just wrapped the top (and around the outer edge) with some glossy black car body wrap film I had stuffed on a shelf. It looked quite presentable, and fulfilled its purpose perfectly well (Which was to nudge high curbs when using "Nose in" on road parking before the paint on my bumper could).
Landscape edging works as a great lower valance. Leaf guards grills and vents but never used gutters. Sweet!
Did this 12 years ago to my rusted integra da9 rocker panels. I used rivets and it Looked good.
I’m mean obviously it looks good compared to what you were looking at before 😂 doesn’t take much
For a diy it looks great. You've definitely given me some new ideas for myself. Thanks for sharing.
Looks better than the kiddy pool “wide body kits” I see everywhere.
Before i see the video...the answer is yes
NGL, it turned out pretty nice!
I want to see someone transplant an entire roof and interior from a 2006 GMC suburbon onto one of these with the tv and every thing lol this looks really good by the way. Great job. When I had my bmw e46, I made a huge front lip on my 330i from a similiar plastic from the garden section lol. That was 15 years ago lol this makes me so happy. best video ever.
Excellent result bro, I would probably ditch the aero canards at the front wheels, but this kinda stuff is right up my alley!
Not my thing but damn that’s creative and it looks good.. 👍🏾
Wow Brutal 🔥🔥💪🏻💪🏻
Actually looks damn good. Youve got the stance looking perfect.
Never would've thought of this. Bruh, Job We'll Done🫡
Very nice.... dare to be differently is always the way to go❤❤ appreciate the vid
I did this back in the '80's on my Opel Manta. People though I bought a high dollar skirt kit for it. Paid less than $10.00.
Had a mate years ago who used the road markers on the side of the road. To make his on a early 70s corona.
just found your channel actually laughed at first "This should be a good one lol" but dam it turned out great got to give you some mad props keep up the good work.
Appreciate it!
10/10 for look... quality ofcuz it gonna pleading under the sun
Hopefully you make sure you tell people not to stop on the skits to get in the truck those will snap easily. But damn that looks Soo good. Man. Not a bad bet, might have to try this on my gmt800 Escalade
Saved a bunch of money and it looks good too
Looks good. Definitely following the build!
Thanks for the support!
Looks amazing dude ! I’ve been thinking about how I was gonna do my ( ford streetka ) here in the Uk as I couldn’t find a kit so this route has definite potential I shall definitely be pursuing it …thanks for the inspiration 👍
Reinforce it with a fiberglass to make it more stiffer
Use the gutter for a mold and make them out of fiberglass ❤
@TroyCooperVegas that's what my sister-in-law said to me last night.
Looks sick dude!
Did this on a bunch of Datsun 510s back in the 80s.
Unique! Looks good.
Appreciate it!
Use Rivet nuts as well as nuts and bolts when ever fastening something to your vehicle, lest you give yourself a flat tire.
And that's top of mind
Neat. You have quite an imagination my man. Looks great
Thanks! Although I will admit I saw someone else do it before me
Great Idea
Really good job on such a very small amount of money. This has inspired me to create similar for my Vauxhall Frontera in the UK.
Thanks so much! Glad to provide some inspiration! Cheers
Nice Work!!!! Never thought of that!!!! Brilliant!!!!
Thanks!
Rust joint the chat
Florida babyyyy. But yes, a corrosion coating would help in northern climates.
Liking that!
That was 🔥
Good Idea ❤
Actually pretty cool
I have rust at the bottom of my door on the body side can I use the same idea the shape has a slight angle
Possibly! Mess around with the location of each skirt and you might be able to hide some of it. Make sure you have enough metal to hold the skirts on
**LOOKS GOOD, JUST NEEDED PAINT IT BETTER JOB**
What the hell Great thinking outside the box!
I always like to figure stuff out Great job!
Appreciate it! Although i cant take credit for the idea.. there have been a few before me here on YT
Oh wow that look really nice 👍
💯 % costume
Appreciate it! And saved a few bucks too 😉
Brilliant
Broo... Fantaskit... 👍👍👍👍🥰
Thanks!
🆒😎👍!
Haha I did this on my Honda Odyssey 5 years ago, awesome
Heck yeah! Appreciate it!
Astucieux 👏👏
It may be a stupid idea but I was thinking using spray foam to fill in the void behind to stiffen it up and would be light weight as well. 🤷🏻♂️
Dope!
Lol my kind of shenanigans 😅
I have a question regarding the front part, is it possible if you can drop it only one inch, without having to mess with the coil overs and springs just leaving it on a stocked shock??
I don't really see a way to drop the front at all without replacing the springs. The Belltech kit comes with a lot of shims that allow you to choose your drop up front, max of 3". You may be able to buy just the front end parts directly from them.
😮 what a horrible mistake those screws will soon create rust
Horrrrrrrrrrible!
@@BarelyBuiltRight hahahahahaha 😂
If u apply silicone/caulking to screws then put them in they won't
@@uttasyda9746 would this technically work on metal
@@illuminati_Bal has for me in the past
🔥 🔥🔥
Hey, why not? Now when it rains, the tires will stay dry, really inovative, economical and safer.
cool
Very Good!... #110 {5-10-2024} Aa
where will the downspouts go ?
Snorkel?
How did it hold up?
Tvirtinimo būdas tai ką aš žiniau..jei jau juokaujat tai gal iš medienos sleksčius pasidarykite 😂😂😂 humoristas
Fill with spray foam I have
How're there so many views but not many subs y'all are wild

Tums might help you

Dos acelerones y sale volando los plásticos esos 😂😂 espero equivocarme 😂
I want to know where at what point wheel-well-flares went from being called what they are to being called a wide body kit. The entire body IS actually wide in a "Wide-Body-Kit", NOT JUST wheel-well-flares......?
It happened in Tajikistan in February of 2004
yo saw you turning by the mattress store
Howdy neighbor! 😅
Looks great , until someone step on it.
Yes these ones aren't meant to be stepped on, but could possibly be made to support weight with a little more engineering. With my truck being lowered they are pretty easy to step over.
Got to keep those kind of passengers out.
Exactly what I thought
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣
I do roofing and sheet metal work for a living.
These gutters become brittle and crack and fall apart after a couple of years.
Good luck with that!!!😂😂😂
Very true. But my theory is I can replace these 3 or 4x by the time I pay "full price" for custom skirts
lol
You coulda just used snipps.
Brb gonna remake the vid
imagine put step on in when get on vehicle and get embarresed in front on people...i dont respond bobs
What in tf were you trying to say ?
Imagine trying to read this comment
you might be mentally challenged
Why ????????
I had to do it as part of a mission trip
What is the purpose? Looks like crap, absolutely no protection from anything; other than a small stone. If you are looking for rocker protection, get some rocker sliders made of heavy steel. But your vehicle, if you want it to look like plastic, you did a good job.
Exactly, I wanted it to look like plastic 😅 who wants rock sliders on a street truck? That would look like crap
Useless crap, does nothing for me 😂
Nor does your comment do anything for me, but thanks for the interaction!
Absolutely useless crap. One drive down a trail it will be smashed to pieces. Waste of money.
Wait...what about my 2wd lowered truck said "trails" to you? 😅
Did you put any fall on it?
Only winter
@@BarelyBuiltRight is that your wet season? Need some gutter guard too or they’ll fill up with leaves.
WHY do I hear the music of DELIVERENCE.....WTF ?
You talking about those bangers from Unlike Plutos copyright free library? 😎
