I tried the phonak slim this morning and what was more important for me rather than the basic aesthetics, which to be honest is slightly mute, pardon the pun, due to the fact that they are mostly hidden behind the ear. For me and my ears the Phonak slim provided a much better fit than that of the regular design. That for me is the number one factor for a wearable. I think the ergonomics and the fit for me is what matters most as being a user you will not be looking at them, you will be wearing them. However having said that your reviews are superb. You give such good detailed information and provide answers to questions I didn't know I should ask. Hearing aids and selecting one appears to be a minefield and you provide a safe passage through it so big thank you me. Your online help is greatly appreciated.

_THANK YOU_ for this video. I just got a set of L-Rs and was considering exchanging them for the Slims. Now I know that the Slims are simply more conspicuous due to their added length, and they only really look slimmer because of that added length.

Great look at a new product Dr. Cliff. If you had ever seen me you'd know why I am not going to weigh in on the fashion aspect of these hearing aids. I don't care what my hearing aids look like, I just want to hear better and currently I'm using Phonak Lumity 90s to accomplish it. Thanks.
Learning a lot. Who knew so much to consider with these hearing aids. I had a boss that always said the batteries were the most expensive part, but seems like they are all chargeable now.
Thanks for the video. I have both the standard Lumnity 90 and the Slim 90. My measurements of the two hearing aids give a thickness difference of over 2mm. This for me makes the world of difference as the size of the Lumnity causes a scuffing sound in my left ear whenever I talk or chew. Even a quick head movement results in the scuffing sound which is extremely irritating. If I pull the top of my ear lobe out the scuffing disappears. No problem with the right side as my right ear has slightly more space between head and ear lobe. Being narrower the slim is not only more comfortable, but as you noted the it makes things easier for people like me who wear glasses. Also no scuffing whatsoever.
As someone new to hearing aids in my 30s i've really appreciated your vids, i've gone with the phonak 90 r which i pick up tomorrow and can't wait. I didn't realise hearing should be easy, i shouldnt have to concentrate to hear, and that was the biggest relief i had when testing them. Just the weight off my shoulders not having to strain to hear or make sure i can see the person to hear. thank you for what you do.

Although i like the look of the new slims, i think the dealbreaker is the lack of a telecoil. i like the idea of a hearing device that extends rather than being perched on top of my ear. Another issue for me is the limited color choices. To me, fashion implies color choices. Why are the fun color choices limited to children? I would love a deep purple or shiny red or other signature color. It might affect the adoption rate of younger users. I do like my Phonak Lumitys and all the wonderful features they have but I feel that manufacturers could step a little further outside the box when it comes to fashion design.
Just ordered my L90 this week. Will take 3 weeks to get them. From the VA. Watched a lot of your videos since then, I hope fitting goes as detailed as yours 😁
I hope you like them as much as I do. I'm still in the trial period with mine (since January) from the VA. At my audiologist's suggestion I am going to try a pair of the new Starkey Genesis ITE rechargeable devices to try and get some additional relief from wind noise, which the Lumity devices do not do well at. I have the same problem with the tube not being flush against my head feels like it's too short but I do like the slim hearing aids on the right better
The issue I have with all over the ear aids are wearing reading and or sunglasses and the amount of PAIN I get when attempting to wear a hat.
Signia Dtyletto definitely looks better. Two toned, more color options. For the life of me I just can't figure out why the HA manufacturers don't offer more color options that appeal to the younger crowd for adults. If they want better adoption amongst younger users, make them look fun - that ought to be easy compared to improving the actual HA.
Side question - the Phonak HA option chart used in the video shows the Audeo Paradise available as a 312 option. I thought it only came in R (which is what I have)?
What would you recommend as far as ear dome/mold for low frequency hearing loss.
I'm half way through my trial with Lumity 90R and loving them. But, I'm considering switching to the Slims for comfort when wearing glasses part-time. However, my audiologist talked with her rep and was told that the duration of charge is a little less in the Slims, saying the charge should "last at least 16 hrs." My 90Rs still have 40+% charge left after 15-16 hrs. of wearing time. So the Slims might be a problem for me that way?
I am more interested in FIT & FUNCTION. I want to hear bottom line I only pick a color because I have to. It is always gray like me . Thanks
The Slims look cool! You mentioned no CROS capability. Can they be set-up for AMPCROS ? (I have assymetrical hearing loss) Or would not recommend them for this, since AMPCROS might cause loss of many of the Premium tools you are paying premium for?

I prefer the Phonak but the looks of a HA is not overly a concern. Also I previously had Signia in the UK and the service was really poor, not the provider actually the manufacturer.

Yes, the Stiletto are more stylish due to the two tone/chrome central longitudinal strip (howzat fer overachiever ratings). However, I don't wear rings, and I wear a rather plain, if classical-looking, Galaxy watch, black with rotating bevel. I don't wear flashy glasses, either, because I don't think they should be more obvious than my nose (which is rather substantial) or a herpetic lesion should I happen to be sporting one on my upper lip. I can see someone wanting to look their very best, but the chrome strip would be about 26th on my list of druthers and wanna-haves. (BTW, I thought I heard you say 'stiletto', but it appears I may have misheard. Hence, my interest in these kinds of reviews. 🙂)
DR Cliff, I tried the Stelletto when my aids went back for warranty check up and found they were better than my brand. I could hear people having a conversation 3 tables down in the restaurant. I am not into all the technology I just want to hear. What are your thoughts on purchasing them for someone like myself that has low to medium hearing loss? I loved the way they fit and felt behind my ears and fit with my glasses.
I'm a believer in doing whatever you have to do to hear your BEST. If that means that you need better hearing aids, I say go for it!
Doctor Cliff, can hearing aids remove/reduce the brain fog(tiredness) from my mind? (This is a question coming from someone with slight hearing loss and mild T. My H disturbs me the most, I don't mind the t even though it is annoying. Pity FX-322 failed)

Are these waterproof or water resistant? I accidentally went into the shower with them on, then jumped back out. Still, I'm a little concerned.

Phonic slim are much better looking imo. In fact I just bought a pair and they look more like a high tech telephone accessory which really works for me. 😊
Of course. It'll take them another three or four years to release a Cros version, and even then, they won't update the app so it works with them.

Not particular about looks. Functionally and better hearing most important. Bose quality speakers is what I want. Yep glasses are an issue. Of course cost is always an issue.
I don't have interest in this product, but I'm all for consumer choice. To that end, I would love a larger version Audeo - I was surprised how small they are compared to my previous Naida pair. I'll take the larger size for larger capacity battery.
The stylettos aren't that bad looking I mean that 2 tone gold colour woof that's pretty sexy as they say phonak can probably take a lesson from them for their next slims down the road I mean if we are talking phonak though I like the sandalwood colour cause you know it's the most interesting colour the rest kinda feel same and if I'm being honest a tad bland

so yeah, new hearing aids... cool. But i guess still no phonak app support for cros devices. How many months passed? A lot.. i bet they will not solve this for the current cros hearing aids, and only make new ones supported in the future.
You missed my post a few weeks ago. The MyPhonak app is now compatible with CROS.

I have to disagree with Dr. Cliff - I prefer the Stylettos. Can I say why? Not at all!! I think there's a "style cycle" to a product that's been around for a long time and when we consumers are introduced to new versions of existing products, hopefully they have functional improvements but they also usually have a new design. Simply speaking of shape and general look, things that were once curvy and slim, the next time, they'll be boxy and larger. And it just changes from one to the other and back again over time. Think about the designs and shapes of cars, household appliances, and cell phones over their existences (to name a few). I guess my brain is in the boxy and larger mode, whether that's currently "in" or not.
I said I liked the Styletto better too.

Phonak Slim is more attractive as it's less noticeable. The best it could be is invisible; the more noticeable the least attractive in my opinion. So a very plain flesh color that you couldn't see at all would be best! The black and grey are very noticeable on you.

Dr Cliff another hearing aid that looks nothing like a mainstream earbud. Kids wont wear them due to stigma, they wont make any difference. Wait another decade for hearing aid companies to actually be interested in what customers want. Guessing you need to touch the aid to reset bluetooth, Phonak's major design floor that they dont want to fix.
