Tech Tip: Cleaning Green Corrosion off Electrical Connectors

  • Are you having random electrical issues on your Plymouth Barracuda, Valiant or Dodge Dart? chances are your 50+ year old electrical connections have corroded and no longer make proper contact. Here's a tech tip on how to clean those green, corroded terminals, and how disassemble the relays and easily clean them, too.

    Roger: As I viewed this I had a deja vu sensation - then it came to me. You're the Bob Ross of Early A Bodies! You take something that appears to have no future & joyfully turn it into (in this case) a happy little terminal - while at the same time making it look simple and easy!

    I usually put these in my media blaster and they come out like new

      I agree. If you had one that did walnut shells or other softer media, that would work great. This is just an alternative, plus you can remove the terminals from their connectors and soak them in Brasso, clean them up and reassemble the connector.

      @@RogersABodyGarage I have a mini blaster cabinet you can run aluminum oxide that they use for 100 grit sandpaper you can get at harbor freight or use baking soda I don't like using chemicals cuz they can get under the wire coating and cause black wire disease and eat up the wire
