    I'm an electrician. That advice to get an electrician to hook up the electricity is very, very good advice.

    Another great video! I like electric vs propane. I have a problem with my 633t intex pump that NO one can help me with. AIR IN THE LINE! No water leaks, I caulked the intake valve, raised the pump, changed the original filter. Each time it’s on, I let air out of the filter dome until the air is out and the water gushes out. Then a large surge of water comes out of the jet into the tank. Intex was no help all! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I live in Corpus Christi Texas. Where are you located? HELP

    Did you just cut the threads off the swimline adapter and trim off the clamp on the type B?

    Where do you buy the water pump? What type is it? I heard you say Intex 1000.

    How long does the water stay hot? Does the insulation make a difference? I want to know if I’ll have to heat it up every day, or if a fully insulated stock tank (top, bottom, and sides) will maintain the temperature. I have an 8’ stock tank, so I don’t want to heat it 40 degrees every time.

    First off, your videos are fantastic and wildly helpful. I was curious about the flannel fabric and the rug padding, does the padding get wet and funky? And did you use regular fabric or some type of waterproof fabric?

    • @StockTankPool
      @StockTankPool  Před 2 lety +1

      Well, thanks! I just used regular flannel fabric and we removed it when the season was over. It definitely got rained on but it was fine in the end. We just had to let it dry out when we wanted to store it. Our original plan was to install clasps on the fabric so we could remove it easily (kind of like a jacket for the stock tank.) It's definitely better if it can be removed more easily that way you could take it off in bad weather. Or come up with a totally different insulating plan! haha

    Once the heater is hooked up and water is to temp. How long does it run to keep the water to temp? Can you keep the water 70-80 and turn it up for and hr or so to bring it up to 100-104

    Any info on operational costs? I’ve read up on wood, propane, and electric. Our space is too small to use wood as safe as we’d like, and the propane heaters seem to burn through tanks a little quick. I’ve read some complaints about high electric bills with the electric heat but I’m curious how it’s been for you?

    • @StockTankPool
      @StockTankPool  Před 2 lety

      We need to do a video about this! In our video about our propane setup we talk more in depth about the use of propane and some of the cons of propane. We always like to say that stock tank hot tubs are more something you use every now and then, but not necessarily a great full-time hot tub. Unless you insulate really well, you will be putting a lot of energy into trying to keep it warm constantly, no matter what source of energy you use. Definitely more to research here!

    could you use hoses instead of PVC for a little more flexibility?
    Also, it looks like you have the heat pump outside of the main drain/outlet.... but shouldn't it be attached on the other side before the inlet? That way water can go through the filter first and it won't put leaves and debris into contact with the heating coil and other internal components?
    (I looked at the visuals on the product page - i am assuming you just followed the install directions, which is usually a safe bet)

    • @StockTankPool
      @StockTankPool  Před 3 lety

      You are definitely welcome to install however you'd like, I just followed the instructions of the heater. And I used hoses on my other heater installation (instead of PVC) so I bet that would work just fine on this one too! Definitely worth a shot.

      @@StockTankPool thank you for letting me know. The video (which I LOVE) makes it look like the PVC is hooked to something on your house. I am trying to figure out where the pvc is attached to. I looked on your website (the whole reason i was brave enough to get a stock tank) and I know I can pay to download instructions but I want to make sure they are the instructions I need before I buy it. I've lived in Joshua tree for three years and I work on my home as a single middle aged woman, I just want to make sure before I spend money (I get the bait and switch a lot our here on these kinds of things out here.) Thank you for offering any clarity you can on the pvc attachment and the downloadable hot tub directions on the web site.

    The reviews I've read on this heater are underwhelming to downright dangerous. What would the "type" of heater be called so I can research it myself? I'm having trouble figuring out what my search phrases should be to find the appropriate heaters.

    4 hours to heat up a small tank is a long time. It would be faster if you use a portable propane heater, mine is a 10L heater and heats the tank in less than 2 hours
