CZcams has everything. I searched this information just as a lark --- I do need to install one, but I didn't think there would be one. By George, I think I've got it now, at least it looks easy-peasy. But with do-it-yourself projects, there's always a snag somewhere. Dudes, great video. Glad you kept the catch mistake, because we were sure to do it ourselves. Saved us. Thanks! Just one thing....um, I think you have the door installed backwards. Isn't the screen and spline supposed to be on the inside?
I ever thought of it that way most of the screen doors that I do have the spleen facing out but I could be wrong anyway anyway thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching

Random question would i be able to put the button inside of the house and have the push handle outside? Just reverse the order of the handles? Do you think it would make a difference in how it works?
I guess you could do that, but then you can’t lock it from the inside
No you can’t do that because the latch handle has to be on the inside to catch the latch plate.
I installed this exact handle and I have no idea what I did wrong. The push button sticks unless I untighten both screws.
Maybe some silicone spray would help or your spring is a little defective good luck thanks for watching
You can trim down the push button rod to adjust. Worked for me!
Take the handle off a widen the hole. It sounds like the spring is catching on something on the inside.

Why did you do a video as you were figuring it out?
That’s how I do every single project because the experts show you in the perfect conditions how to do it I’m showing you how to do it in real life. I just make videos of me fixing stuff around my house for the first time I got a couple I tear apart my dryer and washing machine and I never did it before.
@@TomLeeman, It's cool to see your thought and discovery process. I think I get it now. I went through it with my screen door even following the instructions. I got to the end and my latch doesn't catch, because the door frame where the door fits in is the correct size, but the inner door frame where the latch attaches is too big. In the instructions it must've been assumed the inner and outer door frames were flush with each other, not the case with a home built screened in porch.
How about wearing a shirt?
