Tom, I know it's been a year but this video is really helpful in using the right bracket. My closer did not come with two brackets. Do you remember the brand of the closer you used?
Great job, where did you get your bracket from I need on just like it, the one that came with closer is too large for the small area that I have to mount it.
It came with two brackets so you can choose and how you were going to hook it to the frame but the way we set it up we use the one in the video good luck and thanks for watching
Hey good video despite this being 2 years already! Just a question to anyone who may help, how do you prevent the door from “bouncing”? Example is at 4:55
Now what we've got to do is we've got to kind of extend it forward but we've got to put the front attachment on with the little pin that goes through it and that gravity holds it down, alright so now what we've got to do is we've got to pull that plunger out a little ways about an inch or two forward and then get our mark on the actual door where we are going to put our screw and that's where we are going to drill and put the screw but we have to extend it, we are going to pull it out there and then we are going to mark it, hold it, make sure it's centered (because you don't want it hitting the top of the door frame) and then get your mark on there and then make sure that you got it right where you want it and then we are going to let it slide out and then we are going to drill the hole and then we are going to screw it on there, all right so now once we've got that hooked down there I got to pull it forward so that HE can get the screw in the hole and then screw it on there so there's tension on it because we've pulled it about an inch forward so you can feel it it's nice and tight and then we can adjust it, we're going to show you how to do that later, all right so we've got the plunger or the closer on the top of the door on the door frame it's all set in both sides but as you can see it's closing very slow so what we've got to do is we've got to change the pressure or the torque on this and the way you do it is you stick your little screw driver in there and you're going to see there's a little thing at the front there you can use a phillips head or a flat head and you are going to turn it counter clockwise to increase the pull to make the door shut a little bit stronger or a little bit faster. Okay before you put your pins in you got to make sure that you've got your stopper on the right way, ours was backwards so we had to put some wrench on this, pull out the rod from the pneumatic cartridge and stretch it, pull that thing off, flip it around and then we had to put it back in and drop the pin back in so that we would have it in the right position so that we could have the door stopper hold the door open and I'm going to show you that in a second, so now that we got it on there you push it out, you push that up against the cylinder and that's what holds the door open when you want to keep the door open and so don't forget that, we've also got to put a couple of screws in the side of our attachment to the rod that comes out of the pneumatic pump so we had to go ahead and screw a couple holes in there and then we had to put the screws in on the top and on the bottom so that we would have a nice sturdy attachment to that pneumatic pump that pulls the door closed, we changed the tension by turning this screw inside of here clockwise or counter clockwise, counter clockwise to make it stronger, clockwise to make it loose, this here is what holds that door open so if I open it like this and I want to keep it open like that we take this and pull it here and then that holds the door open.
I have a question. I had a security screen door put in but the issue is the door loves to swing out when it’s windy. Can you use something like this to catch the door? Right now if it swings open, it can hit the windows on the sides.
Yes this stops the door from slamming and from opening really hard it’s a good way to protect the door it also put a chain on it but I think this works better
I’ve been trying to put one of these on my shed doors for the last two years trying every angle possible. But the doors are just like that, there is no true door jam. I’ve never seen that bracket before in my life and that’s exactly what I need and where did you get it? 😂
Pulled piston out 1" or so - for the pencil mark - installation of bracket on door. Why? Could you elaborate on why you needed to pull the piston out an inch or so?

There’s a little connector that’s on the shaft and if it’s forward and lock the door open so you may have to push the door a little bit to loosen it and then pull it back down the shaft. Good luck thanks for watching.

I got it at Home Depot believe it or not and I think this all came with the door

How do you determine what size pneumatic you need?
Most screen doors are standard unless you have like an extra large one but I think they’re pretty much the same and you can buy them at Home Depot

There’s a little connector that’s on the shaft and if it’s forward and lock the door open so you may have to push the door a little bit to loosen it and then pull it back down the shaft. Good luck thanks for watching.
