Diphone is CV, Triphone is VCV. For some reason Teto’s CV voicebank is listed as ( V-CV ) as to indicate a “CV” voicebank with standalone “V” samples too, even though almost all CV voicebanks just include them by default.
You maybe have heard that one of the benefits of VOCALOID3 when it came out was that VOCALOIDs made for the new engine could use triphones, whereas previous engines could not. That’s because the system of synthesis VOCALOID1 & 2 used was most similar to UTAU’s CVVC method ( though, it’s really closer to DeepVocal’s CVVX ), which along with CV, is a form of diphonic synthesis. So basically, VOCALOIDs made for VOCALOID3 and over were generally much better quality, because they could use a synthesis method akin to UTAU’s VCV ( though technically triphones can exist in other configurations such as CCV, VVC, or VCC ). If you’re ever wondering if a voicebank of diphonic or triphonic, think about how many phonemes are in a single note; if it’s mostly only one or two phonemes per note ( like in CV or CVVC ), it’s diphonic, if it mostly uses three sounds per note ( like VCV ), it’s triphonic.

@@TRVLEXU in a nutshell, diphone consists of one or two sounds ( ka or ak) while triphones has three (a ka, -ka and vowels transitions eg. a i). Teto's V-CV voicebank is actually CV, but with additional vowels for smooth vowel transitions, so it's less choppy (but still choppy) while her VCV is just a regular triphone VB. Vocaloid 3 becomes better in quality and has smoother transitions because of the usage of triphones in their voicebanks. Unlike Vocaloid 2, the voicebanks uses CVVC-like (although the writer said it's more similar to voicebanks in DeepVocal, which uses CVVX) method and has no vowel transitions, therefore it sounds choppy.
