Hatsune Miku was the first one that made me obsessed with Vocaloids, but I didn't know that I had listened to some Vocaloid before until years later, when I realized that Phantom Sage's "MIKO", which I heard in NCS way before I knew Miku, was actually sung by a Vocaloid named AVANNA....
(also another song by Phantom Sage's "Crystal Clouds", also released in NCS, is also sung by that same Vocaloid)
@@danieljoybaguio7975
Miku was the first I knew about, but she honestly almost _completely_ turned me off to Vocaloid entirely with how high-pitched she normally is. My assumption was that they'd all be like that.
It was Gumi (16-Bit Wars) and Luka (I forget the name of the song, but she's accused of being a witch by a jealous nun and is being burned at the stake) who REALLY got me into it. Len, too. I've just always preferred deeper voices; higher pitches hurt my ears.
There’s also another dark song that Hatsune Miku made and that’s Okasaan
Btw hito mania isn't a vocaloid song teto is a utau
@@FluffyBirdYT what's the difference?
The Vocaloid song everyone heard... The one that's actually the definition of "heard a vocaloid song but doesn't know Vocaloid"...
NYAN CAT
YES.
Its mainly utau bc people who know nyan cat has most likely heard momone momo's cover of "nyanyanyanyanya" before the original

its so interesting how so many popular songs that people dont know are vocaloid are made by kikuo, who is notorious for making very upbeat songs with fucked up lyrics
That's just Japanese songs in general

just to let you know Loituma didn't actually make Ievan Polkka, their version just popularised it. it was already a preexisting Finnish song with lyrics written by Eino Kettunen way back in 1928. ZUN didn't make teto territory, oxi wrote the parody lyrics for that song and the instrumental was taken from the silver forest circle's track ⑨destiny ~zutto cirno no turn~ which was a sequel of sorts to their track kero⑨destiny which was based on ZUN's track Native Faith. drop pop candy was also made by giga with him doing tuning and music and reol writing the lyrics. also the momo momone cover of nyanyanyanyanyanyanya! was made by momomomoP

Don't forget that the song "hide and seek" the one that does like "ding dong I know you can hear me..." a lot of fnaf fans know from that one animated video of nightmare balloon boy but the version used is actually the english cover of the original vocaloid korean song sung by SeeU!

Heres some you might not know:
Police no.13 (composer: MASA WORKS DESIGN)
Uguisu baita (composer: MASA WORKS DESIGN)

I thought it was Luka...
Yeah i never knew that was Gumi either! And i listen to Love Taste almost everyday
I wish you included more of these "vocaloid in places where you wouldn't expect" type of songs/facts. Either way, good video.
One of the least talked about yet coolest cases of this (at least to me) is Future's opening track on his newest album using Miku. It's legit the first thing you hear: a distorted version of some 2008 vocaloid trance song "Data 2.0".
i rly want to do a video on that but idk if i'd be able to find enough examples😓
I do think a lot of Vocaloid song in Rhythm games. You may check out Cytus and Deemo.
Teto territory is more “I’ve never heard a Touhou song”. Still baffles me how many people think it’s original.

Nowadays vocaloid has become an umbrella term for vocal synths (teto will always be a vocaloid in our hearts)

I have been a Vocaloid fan for like 12 years.....I had no idea there was a Miku song in the Sims! Good for her!
The most known of these songs outside of vocaloid and "weeb" cultrure are probably Nyanyanyanyanya and Ievan polkka. One because Nyan Cat, the other because it's a cover of a traditional Finnish song that was first recorded in 1937 and later popularized by Loituma in late 90s before then getting popularized further due to the Miku cover
great video! i wanted to add two songs that i think are very popular and a lot of people doesn't know they're vocaloid songs
- Pokkan Color by Kikuo (popular fandom trend in tiktok, every fandom has at least one edit with this song, skip to 00:46 to listen the popular part)
- My R by KurageP (REALLY popular animatic / animation meme / gacha meme trend, although the animatics tend to be with a cover made by Rachie)
I was looking for a comment about My R! Ty

-One of the endings for Watamote is a song produced by Utsu-P sung my miku(This Song is Shit, im not insulting, thats just the name of the so h)
-Miku’s cover of levan polka appears in a Bad Bunny song (Bellacoso)
-(edit) Just found out theres a song that was in ClassicaLoid (which, despite the name of the anime, has nothing to do with vocaloids) that involves the piaproloids (Koinu no Carnival)
never expected to see bad bunny and miku in the same sentence nevertheless a collab 😭😭😭
kz of Livetune produced and wrote both openings (irony & Reunion) for Oreimo, and the original Oreimo illustrator, Kanzaki Hiro is also a VOCALOID producer under the name Hanasoumen-P. Hiro also did the design & illustrations for the VOCALOIDs Kobayashi Matcha & Masaoka Azuki.
The original version of the first ending, "Imouto Please!" was a contest submission that originally used Miku for vocals too.

Additional information on Kasane/ Teto Territory:
No, ZUN didn't make this exactly, but ZUN made Native Faith (Suwako Moriya's theme from Touhou 10: Mountain of Faith) and Tomboyish Girl In Love/Beloved Tomboyish Girl (Cirno's theme from Touhou 6: Embodiment of Scarlet Devil) which are the original tracks that Kero 9 Destiny by Silver Forest is a cover of.
Someone else then made a Teto cover of Kero 9 Destiny on Nico Nico, the site where both songs came from, and called the cover Teto Territory/Kasane Territory.
TL;DR: Original songs: Native Faith and Beloved Tomboyish Girl by ZUN (creator of Touhou)

@@EraserDino Reuploading entire songs without permission is different to using clips. A lit of Japanse producers are ok with clips unless it's old song they want to forget.
Claims can be done and they still get money. It's why things like covers and vsqs are ok. People used to reupload the entire song, not a cover to add subs to it. That was not ok and so many producers spokeout about it.
It's why you see things like "no uploading to other platforms" in the description.

I don’t use social media much (I only really have CZcams), so it’s really nice seeing that vocaloid songs are popular on other platforms
goodbye to a world is also a vocaloid song which everyone tends to forget..
What vocaloid does it use haha (banger Omg)
@@-Slowburne- Avanna. She's an English vocaloid.
Ahhhh okkk
Shout out to Insanity and Aisenma if anyone remembers those too . My introductions to Vocaloid before I knew what a Vocaloid was (although their peak popularity was probably before Vocaloid really exploded 😅)
Vocacircus really is a great producer
WAIT HOW DID I NOT KNOW DEFOKO WAS IN MY TIME???
But this is so true I'll ask someone if they listen to Vocaloid and they say "I've never heard it" like
Ievan polka? Nyan cat? SIU? The intense voice/disapearance of Hatsune Miku?
I don’t understand why nobody know that bad girl online is vocaliod song 😢
I love Oktavia so so much but well, most people think her cover is the original :')
Same with Rats Died
I love my time but I never realized the voice was a vocal synth i just thought it was a really distorted voice aaaa i love it, also I never realized the vocal synth in love taste (idk why now hearing it it seems obvious)
also oliver being used to voice a character is cool asf jbhioewfnuidf
8:14 WHAT. NO WAY.??? HATSUNE MIKU IN THE SIMS 4 REAL?????
I swear I've heard happy halloween before without knowing it was a vocaloid song, I don't know where tho
* *probably animation memes!*
*animation meme memories intensifies*
I didn't expect to see Miyashita Yuu here but it was a pleasant surprise :)
Goodbye, Dance of Corpse, and all the variety is singers made me so happy
Vocaboomer level: brain cells most activated by Melt, Two-faced Lovers, and PoPiPo
Like everything else not from wowaka or ryo (also magnet and matryoshka) I only knew of from vtuber covers lmao 😭
Hm... Idk. Besides the songs that appeared in other media, I feel like all of the examples listed here are only known by the fandom. I've been in it for 11 years and even I didn't know some of these.
Thanks for showing me the original songs for clips I’ve heard in passing.
i’m sobbing why is hachi the kick back guy
LMAO I'M SOBBING AS WELL
LMFAO
I knew him from My Hero Academia💀he did the second opening theme, Peace Sign (one of the best ones)
Are we happy sobbing or sad sobbing?😅
@@reciterbunni4052 sobbing out of shock
I love the notes on the top left corner!
The English covers of Miss Wanna Die and Hide And Seek are insanely popular tiktok audios that are originally Vocaloid songs and I'm flabbergasted that they weren't on this list
well yeah
plenty of these songs are mostly used in Animation Memes like Copycat
but the others where used for meme like Ashite, the Nyan Cat song etc
but yet people they havent heard any vocaloid songs
hence they mostly discover a non vocaloid related topic sontaining some vocaloid song over the actual video of a vocaloid song
which is pretty common
Like myself I used to think the Nyan Cat song is just an original meme song but I didnt realize its actually from a vocaloid song (UTAU to be more specific)
so glad to see lost ones weeping here ,,
The way i started singing at the top of my lungs once kikuo songs came on
Ive always loved vocaloid my time (bo en) but never did i think it was a vocaloid song💀
You know you're insane when you know ALL of these songs (i'm insane)
I also heard Amygdala’s Rag Doll and Rin-Chan Now before I knew about vocaloid
All of these songs are considered my childhood songs. I remember listening to these songs during middle school.
Its so sad that many people know too many vocaloid songs but they dont know its vocaloid
I SEE YOU EVERWHERE
The editing of this video is peak early 2010s Vocaloid CZcams. Love it
the fact i didn't know what exactly vocaloid was till i was like idk, 15 years old? but i did know them, i heard ppl call them 'vocaloids', it's been so long ago, but i think i remember i just got sick of hearing the same thing so i searched up who tf miku was and that's when i finally found out what vocaloids are...
Another one that prob would've been good to add is "Sad Machine" by now technically a Vocaloid themselves Porter Robinson, which uses Avanna.
9:18 i wasn't expecting to hear my favorite artist omg thank you
SeeU's Hide and Seek is religion honestly
Kasane Territory isn’t by ZUN. It’s a parody cover by oxi, of the song ケロ⑨destiny by Silver Forest, featuring the melody of Beloved Tomboyish Girl by ZUN. (let me know if I missed crediting any components since touhou music is pretty transformative by nature)
Technically it's a cover of "⑨destiny ~ ずっとチルノのターン", which is a retort song by Cirno in response to ケロ⑨destiny. That's why it has Cirno's theme mixed in.
i be singing copycat like its my anthem ,, echo and again inculded. I swear im fine guys
What about Universe Cat Drowning by Kikuo (not sung by a Vocaloid)?? It became a popular, widespread Gacha Life meme known as the Endless Meme, which features characters dying in various ways, during the summer of 2023! And what about Goodbye Sengen by Chinozo ft. Vflower, which is currently the most viewed official Vocaloid song upload of all time due to a certain social media app? AND what about Love Ward by OSTER Project ft. Hatsune Miku, which was featured in Just Dance 2018??? And Kamippoina and KING and Rabbit Hole and Anonymous M????
Thanks for crediting the producers that made the song, I find it super cool ^^
WAITWAITWAIT
So you're telling me ZUN remixed hus own song using Teto? Ain't to way that's not ZUN style at all 😭
Kasane Territory is a teto remix of It's Always Cirno's Turn, an answer song of Kerokero Territory (based on Native Faith) (Cirno's Turn adds in Beloved Tomboyish Girl at some parts) (basically KT is a remix of a remix of a zun song)
@@oh-seecreations6308 it's always cirno's turn and kero 9 destiny is by a circle (group of people that make stuff, in touhou community, they commonly do remixes of zun's touhou songs and add vocals, turn it into electro music, make it sound like a completely different song) named silver forest
SO WHO ADDED TETO IM CONFUSED NOW
@@ReiisinInaba some guy probably
Really hope all of you guys know pjsk x touhou collab is coming
Ngl for most of the songs in the video I have either never heard of or only heard after I got interested in vocaloid, only about five of them got to reach mainstream media
love how there's so many kikuo songs on this list
I have heard a lot before, honestly. Additionally, "Everyone has heard a vocaloid song before, or is hearing one right now" is an intergalactic law, and saying "i've never heard a vocaloid song" is violation of said intergalactic law
I literally love OMORI music and also the game and seeing my time there lit up my heart
2:50 i haven't seen anyone else mention this, but this was originally a piece called "petite chien" by chopin. yes, chopin that old composer guy. people need to be more familiar with classical music :')
also, i don't know if the one featured in guardian's of the galaxy was petite chien, or miku's cover of it, so i'll keep open to that.
feel like sad machine or goodbye to a world by porter would be some other great examples for a video like this
