One of my favorite modern BMWs. I would die for to drive this beast trough half of Europe.
I’d say its worth it. No gimmicks at all. The upgrades are all things that will translate into better performance on the track. No fake vents or fake aero. All real upgrades including extra cooling which i don’t think this video mentions.
Starting from F generation M cars cooling is not an issue even on racetrack lap after lap.
But speaking other mods def total rip off this CS package is.

I drove one of these, the M340i and a new M5 all in the same day for BMW's M Town event and while I think the M3 is a fantastic car, it feels too stiff and high strung to be a comfortable daily for traffic and highway commuting (which is 99% of my driving)
The M5 was EXCEPTIONAL for this but the M340i struck a perfect blend of feeling lighter and more nimble than the M5 but not as firm/uncomfortable as the M3.
In an F90 M5 you are the king of the road and all other cars look like toy cars to me. :D
the M340i is a nice car but nothing in compared to this if you look for sporty driving. Most M-drivers dont care too much about comfort and I certainly dont. I haven't yet driven this but really hope I can someday. Already the F80 CS was a great car.
That's too bad to hear. For M2 and M5 CS, the ride is actually better than the Comp models. They brought back some the old BMW suspension magic in ride-handling balance.
@@The_Stanman Absolutely. I didn't get to drive it but I rode in a new M5 comp at the same event and it was awesome. It honestly felt like a slightly bigger version of the M340i in terms of comfort and ride quality... just way faster HAHA
The car you should have tried was the M550 less brutal, almost as powerful less stiff
I drove them all day in and day out all BMW models, each created for a different result
Exactly a PURE RWD feels different and manual drive ( in e90) sounded differently as well. There is a distinct difference and worth the CS

Wundert mich das ihr die P Zero normalerweise nicht besonders mögt. Also ich hatte vor Jahren (ich glaube 2014 bis 2017) mehrere verschiedene Mini Cooper S von Autovermietungen mit Pirelli P Zero Bereifung und der Grip war enorm! Die Autos "klebten auf der Straße wie Kaugummi an der Schuhsohle". Aber gut, vielleicht Verhalten sich die Reifen bei anderen Autos anders. Nebenbei: Tolles Video, wie immer, schön erklärt alles, angenehme Stimme👍 top, weiter so

dang that M3 CS is fast! btw Max there will be a M4 CS coming in 2024 with the same 543 horsepower and 479 pound feet of torque as the M4 CSL and not only that a M2 CS will be coming in 2025 with a whopping 518 horsepower and the M2 might be getting a horse power increase from 453 horsepower to 474 horsepower in 2024 which is a 21 horsepower increase and the 2024 BMW M3 CS in the UNITED STATES costs $119,695 dollars compared to the BMW M4 CSL price of $140,895 which is $21,200 price increase over the M3 CS
The f80 cs had a crazy price jump also but they’ve come down now not much more than f80 comp so bargain deal to me

The Nissan GTR was ahead of its time. These are basically GTRs. I remember reviewers were saying it was too easy to go fast. That’s basically every current performance car lol

is the performance worth $30-40k more over a M3 Comp? No. But it does have a lot of little stuff that adds up.. so much carbon fiber including hood; full leather, etc. is it a case of diminishing returns? Sure. Still cool though and I’m very happy with the car.

You can get 95% of all the upgrades on this car with m performance parts for a regular m3 for much less money in total
All these manufacturers and their crazy expensive ceramic brakes are outshined by even a basic AP, or Alcon kit. Ditch the factory ceramics or go for the steel brakes and then upgrade to a real system from. AP or Alcon. The Brembo GTR kit is damn good to.

The CS like buying all the M performance parts for your 320d. Not worth the money.
Not even close. Extra cooling and weight savings/bespoke suspension from the factory are things that actually translate on track
If the difference is even close to the F80 Comp vs F80 CS, it's easily worth it. If you want a drivers car. This is maybe the best sedan sportscar there is around, probably better than the M5 CS.

Those M3 CS really start to become way to expensive foe what you get. At that price tag, there are a lot sport car alternatives.
The GT and LMP versions have yellow headlights. I agree it’s expensive but its the best (mechanically) M3 ever made and has the performance to back it up.

The thing is, in the Netherlands at least this car competes with a Taycan Cross Tursimo Turbo S. Maybe not with zero kilometers but almost new Porsche. Compare the running cost of these two… and the depreciation. BMW has 44k in BPM tax and the Taycan zero. So depreciation for BMW is at least 44k.

Pricewise BMW at this pricepoint competes with brands that are perceived premium, so yeah the Taycan turbo s is genuine competitor

looking at the depreciation of the F80 seems that it is higher for the CS compared to the competition 6 speed manual. Maybe in the long term it will hold value

No I own a F80 M3CS 2018. It was 160k new and now I was quoted 49k ex VAT from the dealer. 87k kilometers on the clock.
I think only M2 CS from F generation are holding value. M3/M4 CS seem to not hold the value so well. I have no data to support this tho.

Why a modest power increase? It Doesn’t make sense to me . Tuners are adding more to The G80 via Ecu remap or piggy back & oh those awful black plastic air intakes.. I really do not see any value in this car.
Bmw always understates their cars. The M3 CS has over 600hp.
