Does anyone else remember where they were in 1969 ...I do because I jumped out of the fire of living with my abusive ( physically. .mentally. ..narcissistic ) parents. .into the frying pan of marriage to a farmer's son and his physically. .mentally brutal mother and incestuous sister and brothers . Non of his male siblings ever married and poor " nenny " eldest of eight a slave who had never been allowed to have a friend and whose only excursion away from home was a day trip to a seaside resort which I organised , husband and I. .after marriage lived in a huge rented almost derelict cottage . Nearest neighbours 2 miles away ..no television. .no heating. .a well in the back field which pumped water to the house. ..December. ..me aged 17yr old ..8 months pregnant reading my only comfort thanks to the encyclopedia Britannica. ..my in-laws could hardly read or write . So 😨😨😨😨here I am having bolted from Hell ..University education. ..good career when I was young. ..travelled overseas. ..grown up children. .good husband. .children and grandchildren. .watching old episodes of Coronation Street because. ?. Because I can .
1969 is the year I was born and in millions, of ways I wish I could have been born many years earlier than 1969 preferably in an earlier decade than the 1960s.
It's amazing '60s episodes are on CZcams
Betty Turpin choosing which way to play as "The view's prettier". Wonderful.
Bernard Youens was such a fantastic actor with a range of facial expressions second to none.
He played Stan Ogden.
Dear Minnie such a delight…such beautiful memories
I Always absolutely ADORED her, she's so gorgeous, too much for words
I loved her too@@michellefalleur960
Classic 👍
Excellent cast then
Hilda. Oh my word!😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🥰
Stan and Hilda remind me of a british version of the honeymooners
Ken reminds me of norman bates
🤣🤣🤣
Omg Betty Turpin - a goal keeper with a handbag lolololol
Haha...classic. Great old eps right?
Ken was a real hunk back then, decent eye candy.Great episode, with everyone looking so young.Really enjoying these early episodes. Thanks for showing..
Ty so much for uploading these episodes great fan from nz here 💓
"You're sub-trinian." Queen of the Malaprop. (Subterranean)
Doris Speed messes her line up at 20:25 no retakes in them days lol
A Coss of the toin! 🤣
@@freigh99 yep lol
What an episode, classic !
Strange Hilda got smaller and Stan got bigger
I love how Annie Walker says 'by the coss of a toin' at 20:25!
Coss of a toin. 🙄
Was it still recorded live in those days?
😄
@@MarcZERO1980 yeah it was still recorded live then
She kept right on going. Very professional ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Nov 1969 was the first episode of Corrie in full color!!! Meaning next month after this episode!!!
Isn't it a crying shame that no one thought to look after all the episodes.
You'll never guess who's coming to dinner. It's Cherie Blair's dad!
13:40...kept expecting Eric Idle and John Cleese to come running out!!
Valerie was so lovely, and nowadays her 100 year old husband never mentions her.
Not surprised. He`s a twat and will never be an actor if he lives to be a thousand.
Wasn't even thought off but I like classic corrie
Annie says ‘a coss of a toin’! Wonderful bet that wasn’t in the script! Lol
Val was right, he has got 'come to bed eyes.' Very dangerous. . . . . . .
Unfortunately i haven't been able to watch in years...i think i was watching regularly from ep1 up to about 2005,it just felt like it wasn't Corrie any more ...
I love grumpy ol Albert Tatlock.
Stan playing sports LOL
Hilda was only 43😮 A proper Housewive of Cheshire 😆
Lancashire.
Has uncle Albert ever been young?
He was born in 1895 so he would be 74 years old here.
Since Corrie started in 1960 no coz he was 65 and retired the year corrie started
You're not the only one who comes from a mental totally screwed up and damaging family, i promise you, just telling you so you know you're not alone
Norman Franklin. Not sure if he became a regular-but any relation to today’s Abi Franklin? Grandfather, maybe?
Len Fairclough desperately wishing it was a swimming competition instead against the local primary school.
Starting watching this....then got a twinge....labour pains every two minutes then brown water broke...Then i gave birth to a massive big brown steaming baby..It was so thick i thought might need stitches....it failed to flush so i batteted it to bits with a old kitchen spoon....Dont worry i threw it away......Sweetcorn everywhere....And the stench....My Mrs was gagging....oh well the champing n afyer shocks have eased up now...Walked around n can sit now....Underkeks like starting grid of brands hatch....Skidders.....Any comments or concerns please????
You never see the children at Val and Kens. Breakfast, dinner, playing or bedtime, I know the old saying, seen and not heard, but the twins are not heard at all.
10 /10
At 13:25 the woman kicking that ball was really pretty she had blonde hair.
Nobby best 😂😂
Does Ken EVER go to work?
Emily Bishop? Sporting Photographer?
I was 7 months old when this episode aired
The first without any scratchy voices
Ken was actually quite a looker ... 👀 ... in the 60s and 70s ....🤪
I think he fancied himself as some sort of street Hugh Hefner.
More energy for other things eh?😉
Where was Jack?
7:59 He's 20 years old? He looks closer to 40.
It was the hairstyles. Added years!😆
Great
That girl ( I don’t know her name) looks like Sophie Webster
Think you mean Audrey. Yes, I think she looks like Sophie too.
How many maisonettes were there in the block? One not let since it was built, then there were Effie’s, Ena’s and the Barlows.
16:29 Uncle Albert looking gangtsa.
I was just going to post that. Uncle Albert layin' down some rap at halftime.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why does Ina wear that horrid net on her head forever??!
I'm here for an ogle at Audrey !
