*I upgraded from the 8 inch to the **Newest.Technology** 10 inch. I really didn't expect it to make that much difference but it has. It is also much faster and responsive. Great Purchase.*

I like the Plus for the form factor, processor, RAM and battery life. I will be getting the 32 GB version. I am glad Amazon is offering additional options.

Might pick this or the HD 10 whenever Prime day is this year. I remember it being in the summer usually,must be postponed this year for obvious reasons lol

The HD 10 does actually have a slightly better processor as well. I have the HD 10 and love it. I'll get the 8 plus...but I'll wait for an Amazon promotion.
The reason why speakers are on top so your body won’t covered the sound. For me, I like to hold it resting on top of my body while laying down. When I do this I always make sure the speakers are pointing up.
The speaker are placed down so that the sound can bounce off a table, your hands, or even your chest and feel louder.
It has been like this for ages.
For us Europeans, are we able to order books on it from the American Amazon store or are we limited to books from our local online Amazon store?

I just ordered mine for $154.99 64gb version with no ads. I also ordered a case for it. I ordered the fire hd plus version.
I have the 6th gen amazon tablet and omg this is my dream the battery of my 6th gen is kinda bad ngl for 2020 but it still works and i used it dor 4-5 years and. It charges slow but i cant wait to upgrade

I just ordered the HD8 Plus without ads on sale at Amazon for $99.99 (down from $125.00).

@@HaiderAli-tw9js It works fine, but overall I would say no, it is not worth buying. The Fire tablet is not a full Android tablet. Amazon does not allow you to use the Google Play store to download apps. You can only download apps from the Amazon App store, and their selection is infinitely smaller than Google Play. I ended up ordering a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8 plus a couple months later. It was a little more expensive, but I like it much better than the Fire Tablet as it is a full Android Tablet. But if the Amazon App store gives you the apps you want or need then this tablet could be fine for you.

I would have ordered the 10 except that the security is a bit dated, has not been updated since 2018. Maybe not a concern? But I am not interested in learning a hard lesson. I just ordered the HD 8 PLUS.

Cons about this tablet the most is Amazon app store a lot the app is out of date. I had to use Google play after side loading it to get up to date apps.

Yes to both. There’s the overdrive app through the app store. Or if you get the google play store, you can use the Libby app to access library books. You can also upload PDFs

This tab it will work. You would want a OTG c cable 3.0 or 3.1; use any usb = faster transfer then the 2.0
Otg cable- Plug in the c to the tab, and then plug in any usb using the cable.
Or the OTG C flash drive will work as well. 2in1- Usb c or use the Usb on computer.
Best buy sells the OTG flash drive 128gb sandisk type c and it's a good deal. Any of the 2 will work just fine.

I do a lot of reading do my tablet is always in portrait position and never in landscape. Will the tablet fit and work in the docking station in portrait mode? If not, then the docking station does me no good.

Yeah but the price tag small as Rhode Island.
As small as the device is you will probably appreciate the larger bezels, especially if you are using it to read Kindle books. I had the new Paperwhite with the thin and flat bezels and I was constantly sliding my finger onto the display and flipping pages. I got rid of that Paperwhite and went with a standard Kindle reader.

I just noticed ...you kids don't read do you ? lol not one reference to Audible books ... why is that? We don't read! U don't use the word "reading" , but we have watts , gigs of RAM, Play store, apps, software, 2 cameras, 12 hours battery, faster this and that ...processor ... Is this the TABLET for going to Mars maybe.Are you going to learn anything from this gizmo or are these things just for very forgettable entertainment. Just asking. Sometimes I think people don't realize just what a deep set of stuff they are getting in a product like this , for maybe under 100 bucks. It's important to remember the amazing age we are in.

No one who buys Android products would ever buy a Fire tablet that is locked to Amazon's proprietary s***
It's not hard locked to Amazon. It literally takes 5-10 minutes to load Google. Then you have the best of both worlds!
Old folks probably. They don't need anything special. My dad used to use a Fire HD 8 and was cool with it up until I got him a Galaxy Tab A a few weeks ago.
MrBo Jangles Another thing which makes the Fire tablets a great tablet over traditional Android tablets is that Amazon updates its tablets for far longer than ANY other Android OEM on the market. I have a HD 8 2016. It received a software update a few weeks ago... I add the play store to all my fire tablets and I'm also a prime member.....so as you said, best of both worlds. I'd buy it even if I weren't a prime member, because the play store is very easy to add.
I got mine in pre-order and I like it can take up to 1TB SD CARD
