- In this game of Civ 6, we’ll be playing Babylon in our latest Civilization VI A to Z challenge. The mission? To play a game with Babylon where we embrace the chaos that is a totally random Tech and Civic tree.
We’re playing today a mod that swaps and randomises all eurekas and inspirations in Civ 6, as well as a mod that updates Babylon to also benefit from free civics as well as techs. What results from this is a game of utter chaos and glory like nothing you’ve seen before.
Welcome to Ursa Ryan’s Civ 6 A to Z challenge, where we take on EVERY civilization in Civ 6 in alphabetical order! My channel supporters have been hard at work creating a fun set of maps, games and challenges for me to play, so buckle up and welcome to the ride!
All maps, mods and tech support on getting these games to work are available on my discord, so swing by! If you want to help plan this series, consider becoming a channel supporter using the links below.

Scythia is such a bad neighbor, Babylon's first thought upon meeting her is "We need to get as far from this planet as physically possible."
I love that at one point, your civ had no idea what Wheels were... but could build Modern Armor.
Who said they didn't know what tracks were?
Maybe they had floating devices. 🤔
spider mechs!
@@ExplosiveFloofBall tracks have many, many wheels within them. Tracks are just covered wheels.
@@salty_tech that's honestly a fair point
"Oh, mighty Hammurabi! Our scientists have understood the secrets of advanced AI!"
"Advanced? We don't even know what this AI thing is!"
"Exactly, my lord!"
Babylon is said to be the cradle of civilisation. Well, in this playthrough, it's the cradle of chaos
i am just imagining a bunch of cavemen with ropes pulling an Abrams tank around in 500bc and crushing their enemies. Fun game idea. Kudos to the patreon crew for the fun idea.
This game would be even more cursed with the tech and civic tree shuffle game mode. But love this idea for Babylon anyway!
I've always thought Babylon is even more broken with shuffle mode because the AI already struggles with it but you can ignore the weird pathing as Babylon anyway.
@@joelpierce1453 Very true, makes it slightly easier for the AI this way, would be fun to see a full shuffle game with Babylon though
The mod he used to shuffle the tech & civic boosts also allows you to shuffle techs and civics across *all eras* if you're interested :^)
Dear Ursa Ryan, watch out for Wonders! They might lead you to a Cultural Victory!
Wonder's Tourism is 2, and an additional 1 for each era. Since Ursa Ryan already unlocked a Future Era tech, an Ancient Wonder like the Oracle is already 10 Tourism, 9 for Classical Wonders like Colosseum, or even 8 Tourism from the amazing University of Sankore.
Tourism from Wonders increment with *your* era, not the global era (great people) or the age era (dedication).
Accidentally getting Culture and religious victories since the start of my CIV VI playthroughs.
You missed a glorious option early holding on to that city near Scythia. If you had simply let it revolt, and brought in a builder, you could have repeatedly pillaged improvements near it, getting you the gold to then buy districts. And the huge number of tech you have would have increased the amount of pillage.
The bit about the city state requests had be in stitches. Fantastic game!
Thanks Widget = )
Girl: Why don't he get my sign?
Her sign: "Mining - Eureka boost by: Building an Uranium Mine"
Having crowned their first monarch in 1800BC, the Babylonians rise up and abolish their royal family just forty years later.
it is fucking hilarious, cannot wait for another episode.
Cheers = )
What kind of sickos do you have thinking up these challenges? 🤪
Some crazed, insane people if you ask me
Ryan I am going to behave myself and not attack
24:41 Ar-ar-arroooooooooooooooooooooooooejfheuhaofhe!
I tried so hard the game literally egged me on
Classical Era Modern Armors, are the best Modern Armors.
Also, beware the pitfall of the unexpected Culture Victory. It sneaks up on a person without warning at times.
I have an insane amount of culture victories compared to sciences ones entirely due to me building every single wonder when I get to the late game because I get bored.
7:34 "How can I put a mine down if I don't know what a mine is?"
Since you can get boosts for having things that you don't know how to make yourself by conquring cities that contain the relevant improvements/buildings/districts, it's possible to boost mining by having a uranium mine. Although I wouldn't wait around for the AI to discover and improve uranium for such an early tech, so fair enough electing to hard research that, but it is technically boostable.
These shenanigans are amazing. MORE!
there are:
normal games
silly games
meme games
THIS!
Yes to all
Your standard "Turn 57 Communism" game. These mods are bananas
So much fun, would recommend
This is just pure chaos. I love it
Cheers = )
Smart Materials on turn 9 😂😂
totally fair
27:04 it means when a British person have a good look at something
Ryan you quite bent now. Love the new mod. Rock on
That wasn't a tech tree that was tech scrambled eggs.
Best civ gamer on CZcams
Cheers XD
Babylon, unlocking a government: "What if....MORE government?"
LETS GOOO BABYLON BEST CIV
As soon as he unlocked AT crews I immediately thought to build or buy just one and win the day.
well, petra is basically an adjecency stick to rush througth the eurekas, to be fair you prob be done with the game in the next episode. still this is pretty funny to watch.
Note that actual boost is 2 trebuchets not 2 bombards
Its baffling how they still haven't fixed that. Same for the two "improve a resource" bonuses.
a natural wonder off the bat to the north. ain't that a hell of a thing.
For such a chaos game the start was weirdly insane
Civ4Life rushed planes with Hamurabi with eurekas… it’s hilarious!
#98 - Later than usual to the University of Sankore due to having to blow up balloons.
Ryan do you know the meme where there is a guy in a tank? And says: im in a tank and you Not thats you in the game
I would definitely like to see a civ 6 Babylon gameplay on a Mediterranean map cause u have zero to no production there if at all
For a second I thought you would get the pasture pantheon … is it 7 or so around your capital ? Hopefully extra people points gives you lots of scientists
Yeah that would have been good as well - I avoided it due to the yield penalty this mod gets
Perfectly balanced game 🤣
As all things should be
randomize the wonder bonuses/effects too
We may have gone too far in a few places...
11:37 I wonder what was that reference for??👶🐣
I actually have no idea! Do tell, I'll have a look
@@UrsaRyan You were saying something about a baby coming.
Does the mod change the eurekas for the AI too, or just for the Babylon player?
For everyone I believe
On a good day, I B-line Seasteds
I like building seasteads before mines XD
You built solar panels before you finished the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus
It clearly needed sustainable power. Whatever it was
@@UrsaRyan right, right. How else are you going to light the fires around the entrance?
Wouldn't the Barbs also enter later era units once you research the advance techs?
Yep! It's horrid
how does this version of Babylon stack up on the tierlist?
Very, very high!
@@UrsaRyan that's excactly how i watch your vidoes xD. But for real love your content love what you are doing. Sending positive algorithm your way
Daily comment.
For the algo
It's not 2 bombards, it's 2 trebuchets. the text is wrong.
Yep, just like I mentioned = ) Poland's text is also wrong, as are a few other things with line infantry
"Videos will always earn you enough cash for your living despite their views, if you make enough of them"
-Ursa Ryan-
I never mind doing the thing I love to be fair
haven't watched but I don't understand how this is a part 1 if you have modern armor in the classical era
💡
Sigh.. how about watching it maybe then?!
@@Beach_Boomer i have ya dummy
@@talosisoursavior3061 Jolly good then! ✌
commenting before watching always strikes me as a hilariously high stakes affair. I need to try it sometime. "ah man I loved the bit where Ryan won £1,000,000 randomly"
A bear proves that communism actually works.
Day 39 of commenting to beat the algorithm
i love your contents, sorry but to me this is painful to watch, maybe some tips?
1, you can sacrifire a turn and grow much faster by working on that banana tile. and your capital will have 2 production instead of 1
2, when you see a barb, you immediately move your units to find them, not continuing explore.
3, dont ever attack a barb when you cant kill it. let them attack you, not attack then so them can pillage and heal.
4, buy at least 1 scout, i know you not scout thing but every good player do that, information is alway good
5, you can use some pin, plan some stuffs.
6, buy trader when you can, you even put a trade card in but not have a trader ??
these are just basic, hopefully you can be better and get more views.
