- Jumboo Savari Elephant Lakshmi refuses to leave Mysore Palace, Jumboo Savari elephants stayed during Dasara festival for over a month in the Mysore Palace, with the conclusion of 10 days long Dasara festival it was time for the Dasara Jumbos Savari elephants to return to their respective forest camps , which is their permanent residence. It was 10th October, 2019 the day the Jumboo Savari elephants have to leave Mysore Palace, they are transported in lorries to their respective forest camps in different parts of Karnataka. The experienced Jumboo Savari elephants enter the lorry without much fuss or fear. But, young 18 year old Lakshmi decided it was not yet time to return to the forest, Lakshmi put up a strong resistance, unwilling to enter into the lorry, Jumbo Savari elephants Gopi was assisting the Mahouts n Forrest officials in coaxing the elephants enter the transport lorry, but, Lakshmi dodged all their efforts, time was passing on,later Vikram joined Gopi but to no avail, now, it was the turn of the Ambari Elephant Arjuna to get Lakshmi Into the lorry, Gaja Raja Arjuna was very powerful, he lifted Lakshmi Into the air, but, still Lakshmi moved away from. Lorry entrance, after few unsuccessful attempts, Arjuna returned to his resting place angry and tired making roaring sound! Now, plan B, they brought in extra lorry to close the gaps through which Lakshmi ran away, again, the ordeal began, it was up to Gopi n other elephants, after more than 3 hours it was exhaustive and great relief as the all of them started clapping n laughing at the pleasing sight of Lakshmi being pushed into the lorry, 2 powerful push is what all it took to finally get Lakshmi Into lorry!

Just noticed that they keep hit the elephant with sticks that have metal hooks on it. Poor animals. No wonder sometime one breaks lose and making a killing spree. There incredible animals, very loyal to family and feelings....Just sad. People should let them be elephants in the wild. The elephants are in elephant camps in forest areas of Karnataka n they are left free to move around n taken good care by the Mahots! This was during Dasara n the elephants had to be transported to their forest camps! This elephant it was the first time transport in a lorry hence it was unwilling to enter the lorry! But if you see experienced elephants like Arjuna the ambari elephant they enter the lorry without any fuss! You can have a look at the videos thanks 😀

Hi John, Hope you are a veggie. FYI.. be it elephant or rabbit all have the space to live on this earth. Eating animals is the biggest crime on earth. FYI.. India is the largest veggie land. If ppl are concernd about other life; first stop eating animals. And these elephants are treated really good. They are not in circus. They carry to lord in world famous mysore jamboo savari. Rest of the year they are in forest, loved and taken care by care takers.

You know a year back in Mysore Zoo ; an elephant care taker was attacked by elephant and later died in the hospital; he had taken care of the elephant from its childhood days ... nearly 20 years!

They should altogether get rid of using animals for human pleasure of any kind. They belong in the jungle which is their natural habitat. Humans are taking over their land by cutting firrwat and also forcing them to come out in many instances. I hope there will be changes in the future for their and our own sake.

they have used bullhooks while trying to make the elephant forcibly enter the truck, bullhooks are extremely painful when hit on the elephant yet not one of them thrashed the mahouts. Humans will never ever come close to the greatness of what elephants are!

They stay here for 1 month -40 days they get Royal treatment here double food , massage , tasty food butter ( if they eat) they get everything bks they r centre of attraction of the event it's the state festival it's quite Royal here
After the event they r being shifted back to forest , now they have to go back to the forest don't u want them to go back to forest camp ?
At camp they stay there only at night morning they r given Breakfast and are left to forest and at night they r brought back
