Ignoring the fact that she probably can't breathe, the dress is so creative and beautiful. The look is basically so underrated because the only thing that everyone is focusing on is her waist. But the look is so amazing, she looks exactly like she stepped out of the water. Like the drops, the hair, the way the dress looks like it's wet when it's not. It is so beautiful i wish they hadn't done her waist like that so first of all she could breathe and second people would focus on how amazing the look is
Ya it's such a gorgeous dress and the waist is so distracting. It's totally out of proportion to the rest of her body.

I have to disagree. The theme was camp and a woman leaving the water in a wet look is beautiful but not on theme. When you add the waist and Kim’s body it makes the look camp because her body is the embodiment of camp, it’s over the top and ridiculous and gorgeous, which is totally on theme!

for everyone saying that kim's waist looks way too crazy with the corset.. that's literally the point. the theme of the met gala was camp which basically means over the top, so she did it on purpose to fit in the theme.

Coming back to this look a couple years later, I totally let my feelings get in the way of giving her the proper credit for this look, because she absolutely got the theme exactly, one of the very few people who did, and she looked amazing. A+++ amazing job, Kim.

People who mistook "camp" for an excuse to wear coloured chicken feathers and cup sequins were the actual problem this year. This dress is haute-camp, in my opinion. Anyone who (at the time) said "it's not on theme" only did so to insult Kim; but in doing so they disrespect the name of Theirry Mugler himself, a grave error if you ask me.
Fun fact: Kim took breathing lessons to fit into her dress. Also, she said the day of the Met Gala was one of the most stressful days of her life, along with her wedding.

The only reason she couldn’t sit properly was because she was wearing the corset WAY too tight. And she didn’t do proper corset training so she would not have been wearing it correctly. The look is beautiful but she added tons of stigma onto corsetry and how it should be done.
