    Why did you start the displacement from equilibrium then up to the max displacement rather than Start from Max displacement since the object is moving from rest

    • @ScienceShorts
      @ScienceShorts  Před rokem

      Because we can start timing at any point after we've let it go.

  • @oskarwitha_k8258
    @oskarwitha_k8258 Před 2 lety +5

    6:14 why is it a sine wave? Surely it’s a cosine wave because cosine wave starts at 1 whereas sine wave starts at 0..??

    • @namename3130
      @namename3130 Před 2 lety +6

      A sin wave in maths does technically start at 0 but cos is just sin + 90 so people call that family of oscilation graphs, sin waves, as they are always a translation of a sin graph.

    at 11:59 , when you create a formula for the tension, isnt the tension the centripetal force in this situation, so shouldnt the equation be T = mv^2/r => mg = mv^2/r ?

    • @lexanris
      @lexanris Před rokem +2

      Centripetal force is actually known as the net force of all the forces acting that causes the object to move in circular motion. So Fc=Tension-mg And tension=Fc+mg
