    Great video, a lot of content in such a small period of time, very concise. Maybe do a video or two on the magnitude of stars, the Big Bang theory (the evidence) and the detection of binary stars, quasars and exoplanets. Thank you!

      Dude we can't even get to Mars - what's the point in astrophysics?!

    • @cuzeverynameistaken1283
      @cuzeverynameistaken1283 Před 5 lety +3

      @@ScienceShorts Its more about finding out how the universe evolves on a large scale not really about going to mars. Going to mars is more of an engineering and economical problem and also we don't have that dick measuring contest of US and USSR anymore so the technology to get to mars isn't being developed as fast as it should be.

    • @ScienceShorts
      @ScienceShorts  Před 5 lety +1

      We know so much more about the universe than 100 years ago, and...what has it achieved? How has it benefitted mankind?

    • @cuzeverynameistaken1283
      @cuzeverynameistaken1283 Před 5 lety +3

      @@ScienceShorts In a way you're right. But then again how has knowing quarks exist benefited mankind or something. Physics is simply the exploration of the universe from small scale to large scale. Maybe all this knowledge is useless maybe it's gonna be theorectical for a long time then get used in some way. Like non-euclidian geometry was for a long time until einstein finally found a use for it.

    • @charlottesmith891
      @charlottesmith891 Před 3 lety

      @@ScienceShorts it has Indirectly benefitted mankind. The need for better and more precise technology and other feats of engineering that we use for many things is in some cases driven by physicists doing what was seemingly irrelevant at the time.

    A Supernova only happens to a (Red/ Blue) Super Giant Star, not to our Sun, since its much smaller. Also after a Supernova, a Neutron Star OR Black Hole is formed (depending on the solar mass of the Giant Star). Our sun would only become a white dwarf, after expelling its outer layers (in Red Giant phase). Hope that makes sense!

      If you want to do it at A level, make sure the course covers it because its an option. e.g the course may do medical instead of Astro.
