These units are exceptional in their performance and their dedication and bravery deserve recognition. I would also like to acknowledge the Sri Lankan Special Forces Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) teams and Commandos for their exceptional efforts. While it is true that they may not have access to the same technological luxuries as other countries, the LRRP and Commandos successfully eliminated the greatest guerilla group, the LTTE, which the world had ever seen. The LTTE was notorious for introducing suicide bombers to the modern world, and had a navy and air force. Their tactics were ruthless. Despite operating in LTTE-controlled jungles, the Sri Lankan Special Forces and Commandos worked tirelessly in small groups of 4 or 8 men for months at a time. Therefore, I strongly believe that the LRRP of the Sri Lankan Army Special Forces and the Sri Lankan Army Commandos should be given special recognition.

Marine Raiders is a hybrid between Green Berets, Rangers, SEALs, and Marine Force Reconnaissance. Their primary missions are Foreign Internal Defense, Counter-Insurgency Warfare (Green Berets), Direct Action (Rangers), Maritime Interdiction (SEALs), and Long Range Strategic Reconnaissance (Force Reconnaissance). We can do all there jobs but none of them can do all off the jobs. When the Seals need help, they call the PJs and when any tier 1 unit needs air support they have a combat controller with them. Sure Isn't Delta Force supposed to be the US's top SpecOp unit? That would put them above SEALs without even looking outside the US. I agree with you SEALs should be well down the list, it looks like the list is based on Overall military size, defence budget and SpecOps game's rankings. If that's the case, where is the Irish Army Ranger Wing SpecOps of the Irish Defence Forces, their overall military size is much smaller than any on this list yet are the only group to beat the SEALs in the SpecOps game's in the last 15 years? Sticking with the SpecOp games, where is the British SBS, they actually routinely outperform SAS in the games? How Spetznaz or any Russian military group can make any top 15 list is joke of the decade, Also GiGN and GSG 9 are Police units trained to a military level not actual military units.
Pakistan SSG (Black Storks), Danish Frogmen, Finnish and Ukrainian SpecOps are also worth mentions.

Delta was created to emulate the British army's special forces unit, the Special Air Service - which was formed in 1941 by Scots Guards Officer David Stirling. US Colonel Charles Beckwith was seconded to the SAS in the early 60s. He was so impressed, when he returned to the US he lobbied the military top brass to create a similar unit. Delta Force was the eventual result, created in 1977. The forerunner of the Royal Navy's special forces unit, The Special Boat Service (SBS), was former even earlier than the SAS, in 1940. Both the SAS and the SBS, as well as Delta, are Tier 1 military units. The SEALS are a Tier 2 unit.

Last time I checked, Finland i’ve joined NATO!; and they are extraordinary capable country and proved against the Russians before even the British developed special forces. And they do regular operations alongside NATO and have aligned the hardware as have Sweden.

Seals should not be #1 in all honesty. They’re tier 2 whereas many of the other special forces on this list are tier 1. JTF2 should be first. Although a publicly known classified unit we know these things: 1) longest sniper shot (3540m) performed was by a jtf2 combatant and they hold 3 out of the top 5 longest sniper shots 2) they have had 1 fatalitiy and that was because someone fell off a coms tower. 3) bob harward said jtf2 is his first pick for any direct action missions 4) you need to be trained to olympic level fitness and highly skilled and oftentimes that still isnt enough. 5) they captured more Taliban leaders than the other countries COMBINED in Afghanistan

Of course he picks America for number 1 as the best. Everyone knows that the British SAS is the best. Not only is it the very first Special forces, it is also the mother of other special forces in the world. It is the hardest to get into and they are practically ghosts. Only a small team around 6 soldiers took out an entire enemy base to save one of their own. Plus let's not forget that they also train in every single weapons that the world has. They mostly are off from the news as no one can capture the picture of them in action.

Delta and Marine Raiders are the true Elite #1 Forces. Only difference is they do not need constant pats on there backs like Seals do.
