  • "My ensuing demise has enslaved me."
    After many delays and changes in the story, it's finally ready to be released! Episode 5 IS HERE!
    I'm nervous for you all to see this part of the story because up until now I've been playing it safe with the story, but now we're approaching the grey area between Majoras mask and Twilight Princess, and the area we all have very little information on what went down then.
    So our mission was to make something that could exist in the world of Zelda but also wanted to make something that was interesting and entertaining, reaching that I would have to make some tough decisions. I'm very happy with the ideas we have poured into this episode, I hope you enjoy it!
    Ganondorf is a character I always wanted more from, but we never got to hear much from him. So we hope you like the Ganondorf we have created and that it is something believable!
    From the bottom of my heart, I have to thank my Patrons for their unwavering support through all my delays! you are all the reason this series will go through to the end!

    The story will continue!

      I mean it largely seemed on par with the others to me
      I honestly read it as a retelling of OoT coup attempt,
      Spoliers;
      him showing false fealty to get close, striking Sonia to steal her stone for power, and using said power to ascend
      And slight tangent; why not steal Zeldas gem as well? She was right there and seemed less prepared than Sonia.
      And then theres his last ditch dragon plan, which at best was just one last spiteful act. At worse looked like a gamble on his part.

      @@KingZorLink21 It seemed more like he was the *perfect* reincarnation of Demise. Ganondorf in name, Demise in spirit. Evil incarnate without the human sympathy seen in WW Ganondorf. Honestly, I just wish we would've seen why the Gerudo ultimately turned against him. That would've made for a good addition to the story. The whole past storyline in Tears of the Kingdom is ripe for fleshing out (Hyrule Warriors: Imprisoning War, anyone?).

    • @rocknatex5013
      @rocknatex5013 Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@Firestar4041 Maybe not a retelling per se. TotK does complicate the timeline quite a bit, but if we accept the concept that the story of Zelda is that of a never-ending cycle, then it was more likely an echo. Events playing out similarly throughout history, yet in different eras. In a cycle that repeats over and over, it's a given that some events would repeat themselves eventually.
      Take Attack on Titan for example. It was believed that Titans eliminated humanity beyond the walls of Paradis. We later discovered that wasn't true, but the Titans *did* terrorize humanity for centuries under the rule of a wicked king. The Rumbling was an event that echoed those beliefs--a "wicked man" appeared and used Titans to eradicate humanity beyond the boarders of Paradis.
      Different era. Different circumstance. Similar event. Thus, a cycle.

    Link, the one desperate to maintain his purpose in a world that needs him less and less.
    Ganondorf, the one seeking to renounce his purpose in a world that's hated him all his life.
    Zelda, the one determined to transcend her purpose in a world that's played her like a puppet.
    When you struggle to find a reason to keep fighting, courage becomes meaningless.
    When you cannot even control your own life, power becomes weakness.
    When you're prevented from acting upon what you aspire to do, wisdom becomes useless.
    Hero's Purpose is a story that explores the things that truly define who we are. Majorlink has done a magnificent job creating this series.

    • @Nimi450
      @Nimi450 Před rokem +90

      @@DarrianYates It's long and complicated but... Let's say it this way. Skyward sword, along with the multiple mangas around The Legend of Zelda have slowly made that story so simply epic into and absolute tragedy.
      Skyward Sword introduced three notions, the Soul of the Goddess, the Soul of the Hero and Demise's curse, each of them linked to our three main players in Zelda, the Princess herself bears the Sould of the Goddess, blessed to guide the world to it's future, Link bears that of the Hero, blessed to protect the world from evils of all form and Demise's Curse is... The last wish of god defeated by the First Link in Skyward sword, with his dying breath he cursed the land of Hyrule and souls of the Goddess and the Hero to forever face evil and hardship, creating a powerful Malevolence that we see incarnated in Ganon, for which Ganaondorf is the vessel most of the time.
      The Mangas that happened since have made use of this concept to deepen the relationship in the characters, making Ganondorf sometimes nothing more than a puppet of the curse, sometimes more a tragic hero wanting to save his people from the desert but choosing the worst of solutions, the games also support this very idea in several of their hidden lore, the mangas merely get more time to expose it, while also giving Link a much stronger agency by making him a character rather than a silent force like in the games.
      The idea that Ganondorf is aware of the curse can be seen alluded to in many mangas, or even in an indirect way in how he acts in Wind Waker, not seeking conflict or dominion, simply to raise back a lost land from the depth of the sea.
      And of course the most recent entry of Zelda games, Breath of the Wild, and the soon coming Tears of the Kingdom, show us the Malevolence of the Curse in it's full force, where Ganondorf himself doesn't even exist, Ganon is now a pure force of nature.
      All in all, the cimplicity of The LEgend of Zelda hides a tragically underrated story and concepts that I hope the mangakas working on the serie will keep on putting front and center.

    I feel that as Shiek, Zelda expresses thoughts that she would normally keep to herself. As Zelda she is kind, wise, and patient as she’s expected to be, seldom getting assertive. That’s part of why she became Sheik. As a Sheikah warrior, she feels more comfortable with being assertive and saying things she wouldn’t as princess of Hyrule. She has a lot of negative thoughts over being on the sidelines while others fight and die for her. So as Sheik she is more than willing to get them off her chest and be stern with others, because as Princess Zelda she is expected not to.

    Absolutely masterful direction for Ganondorf.
    I always loved the more human side of Wind Waker Ganondorf, and was crushed when i found out that a lot of that humanity was just localization. And that he never had any goodness in him.
    The direction taken for this Ganondorf acknoweldges that he cannot break free of the curse. It acknowledges that nothing he did was for the betterment of his people.
    It's tragic. The confrontation had so much emotion. We want to believe him. He's right in many ways. It makes us doubt Hylia.
    But by the end, we realize...
    There's no way Demise would've let him get that close to the Triforce without taking over. As much as we want Ganondorf to end this curse... Hylia knows. The Spirit of the Hero knows. Demise is manipulating Ganondorf to believe that he can have that freedom. And when Ganondorf reaches that point of humanity... When he stoops so low to connect with Link, and hears that name... He realizes Ganondorf is no longer useful, and kills what's left of his humanity.
    It works so well with Wind Waker Ganondorf. WW Ganondorf was a man who had lived so long, without a way to rule, that he forgot his purpose. He sought the triforce and Hyrule, and he couldn't even remember why he casued so much bloodshed. Demise had essentially went dormant. But you know a lot of his desires were being manipulated by Demise. He lies about wanting to help his people, thinking maybe it's true. HOPING that it's true. The second he touched that triforce, it would come back to him. Demise would fill him with that lust for power and blood. The King of Red Lions honestly did him a favor, taking away the only goal of thr curse. At that moment, Ganondorf lost his only purpose. But with Hyrule washed away under the sea, the curse was washed away as well.

      We can still interpret Wind Waker's ending as Ganondorf's humanity rearing its head, but one part of the sympathy was merely localization.

Holding back his rage and malice as best as he can, no matter how many times Link, driven by the Spirit of the Hero, keeps attacking him. Ganondorf stays calm and patient, continuing to reason with the one trapped in a similar cycle as him. Even when struck with blow after blow, he doesn't give in until the very end. Awakes from a hundred years long coma and despite not remembering anything about other Guardians or current Zelda just goes straight to Hyrule Castle, right through all Blights, crushes Calamity Ganon and just stands there as Zelda, his friend, with a shaking voice asks him If Link even remembers her, afraid that there is nothing left of Link and this is just Spirit of a Hero pushing what is basically an almost empty shell to fulfill his DUTY to his liege.

      Which is why Zelda in True Ending is so relieved because completing her OWN DUTY as Royal Heir was important... But seeing that her dear friend Link still remembers her and of sound mind in spite of injuries he sustained - makes her happy as a person, not some divine reincarnation.
      Kinda ironic that when she was focused so much to be able to fulfill her Destiny... But after all this the only thing that mattered If at least one of the people who stood by her side and sacrificed their everything "came back".

      The truth is that all the heroes chosen by Hylia are obliged to put their duty above their duty to protect Hyrule and the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia (Princess Zelda). This to me is sad because this emphasizes that it does not matter if Link dies or the suffering he had to endure. pass if only he guarantees that he fulfilled his duty. Metaphorically it feels like he is a puppet at the hands of the goddesses. Well, the comments that Ganondorf said are so assertive that Link is, for some deities, a puppet to carry out his designs. “The Spirit of the Hero”, “Bearer of the Triforce of Courage”, “He Who Fights the Battles of Hylia”, “An Imposed Fate Without Choice”. 😔

Thats his whole point. at first to try to force like he did,but realizing he cannot just take it for granted, the scene of him facing lost woods curse made it clear he thought on the woods realizing it is not good to force or why have this at all?
      But the curse is a good thing to notice, and something the royal family will hide away, and never admit to it publicly or even to the affected parties.
      After all he at least admits his wrong doings, by saying "no one is above a sin"

Also, humanizing Ganondorf was such a brilliant approach, with him finally realizing the never-ending cycle that the three of them are cursed into for eternity. It made you want, for the first time in LoZ storytelling, for the "bad guy" to win. Imagine if Zelda games started to take this approach to Ganondorf's character instead of how he normally is portrayed as. The closest we had to this was Wind Waker Ganondorf and it would do so much for the series if they showcased more nuanced perspectives - but at the same time I feel as if they are keeping it black and white on purpose to leave it up to the interpretation of the fans.

      I know this is a fan fiction, and I know some things aren't explicitly explained in Zelda, and different people have different interpretations of certain things in the game, but this is one of the things I don't think really makes sense in this video. The Death Sword isn't even Ganondorf's sword. It was an execution blade used in the Arbiter's Grounds, which was a place where people were executed. You can tell it's not a Gerudo weapon because it doesn't match the Gerudo aesthetic. The Death Sword lacks the signature curves of Gerudo weaponry, and the style of the inscriptions are not found on any Gerudo weapon.
      The Death Sword more closely resembles a mixture between a medieval European and Asian executioner blade, which makes sense because Hyrule takes inspiration from both of those cultures and the Arbiter's Grounds was built by Hylians.

    • @uncle167
      @uncle167 Před rokem +1

      @@corvus9359 Well, yeah. I suppose there are some consistency issues and ambiguity involving Gerudo culture and the blade's purpose. I don't think the blade was specifically designed for execution, since next to nothing is given about it in the game, but I can see your point. I still love the nod though, and I hope Ganondorf's connection to the sword's spirit is elaborated on in a future episode.

    • @corvus9359
      @corvus9359 Před rokem

      @@uncle167 While nothing is directly said about the Death Sword explicitly, you can still piece the puzzle together with visual clues. To really get into it, the combination of the design of the blade itself, and the location it is found implies it was used for execution. It's a single edge with most of its weight concentrated on the end, which has no point on its tip. The sword itself is also very thick. This design means it is meant for cleaving, which is not practical for a sword. The role of a sword is for slashing and stabbing, and the design of the Death Sword is not suited for either of those. In combat, the role of cleaving is filled by the axe. Now as for what the Death Sword was cleaving, well given that it was found in the Arbiter's Grounds, a place where people were executed, that would mean its purpose was for cleaving heads.
      The Death Sword, and the Arbiter's Grounds as a whole are part of Hyrule's dark period of history, which has since been covered up by the Sheikah clan, and we see remnants of that in Ocarina of Time with the Shadow Temple, as well as the Arbiter's Grounds in Twilight Princess. This would explain why the Death Sword is tied down with what appear to be ofuda seals from Japanese culture, which the Sheikah are based on. It should also be noted that the Arbiter's Grounds are a Hylian structure, which should rule out the Death Sword as a Gerudo weapon straight away.
      As for its connection to Ganondorf, throughout the series, Ganon's power (or rather, Demise's power) has been shown to have the ability to corrupt creatures and objects into violent monsters. The ofuda seals that bind the sword are meant to contain evil spirits, implying that the sword is cursed with the spirits of those who were executed with it, or that someone decided to seal those spirits within the sword. Ganon's power likely strengthened those spirits, which took form when the seals were removed.

    I'll be honest, stellar as this whole episode was, Ganondorf and Link's scenes captivated me the most.
    First, there's how human Ganondorf is now. He admitted to his crimes to the Deku Sprout and Link, didn't try to weasel his way out of them or delude himself. Heck, he doesn't even get mad at Link, the guy trying to kill him! The 2 times he gets angry is at the illusion of his past self and his questioning of why fate had dealt them both a cruel hand. Even when he kills the soldiers at the bridge, theres no revelling in the bloodshed. He numbly walks on, jaded by the wisdom in knowing how meaningless it all is. He admitted that everything he did was his own choice, even if it was at the call of destiny. The scene where he extrapolates on his origins really sells the fact that he's only a man in an impossible situation, just like Link.
    And Link realizes that and it just breaks him more and more. All his life, Ganondorf has been the demon king of evil to him (a deserved title in the Adult Timeline) but the longer they talk/fight, the more Link realizes that they're far more alike then he ever imagined. And you can see that he wants to believe that, but he struggles to reconcile the Ganondorf of today with the one he fought as a child, the one who took everything from him.
    What helps him realize Ganondorf's sincerity from the looks of it is twofold; First, no matter how many times Link takes a swing at him with lethal force, Ganondorf doesn't return it. Even when there's multiple openings, he doesn't take them so he can try and reason with Link. And secondly, the two are the perfect reflections of each other; a boy chosen by destiny who broke from carrying it.
    A particularly powerful moment for me was when Ganondorf asked "What would you do if our positions were reversed?" And Link realizes that a part of him would "do whatever he had to do" and be willing to go to the same lengths that Ganondorf did
    He realized that ultimately, he could've been as vicious as Ganondorf and I feel that plays into him realizing that of he could be just as wicked, then Ganondorf could be just as possible as wanting to do the right thing
    Absolutely stellar writing that's emphasized by the music! Brock really stepped up his game here and I like how juxtaposed the music is between Castle Town and the Lost Woods. In Castle Town it's intense and swelling with power, framing just how much of a bloodbath it is. But with Link and Ganondorf it's much more somber and melodious, emphasizing just how much of a tragedy it really is between these two agents of destiny
    Can hardly wait to see how this continues on!

    "What if Link's role was Reversed? What if he became a hero... only because Destiny said so? What if he Decided to Screw Destiny? What would he do then?"

    This episode is something else, really. The way you portray the curse that Demise put on both Link and Ganondorf is so interesting.
    Link's sudden bursts of energy and need to fight Ganondorf is almost like a tic that he cannot stop, even though he obviously wants to. I mean look at him at 38:46, he looks so lost and scared, his eyes are completely devoid of light, they, along with his brows, are trembling uncontrollably. His whole face, from what we can see of it, just cries out "Help, I can't stop." I cant help but compare it to the Clone Inhibitor Chips from Star Wars, whenever the Spirit of the Hero takes control of Link, he really can't stop, it's like the Spirit is possessing him to just hack at Ganondorf. There were times throughout this scene that I was thinking to myself "Dude, enough, just stop, he wants to help." We have always seen a Link that is bold and heroic, with no fear or hesitation in sight, ready for action, for Hyrule and Princess Zelda, but never before have we seen this side of the hero, and in some way, it kind of makes sense, and it is heartbreaking.
    Ganondorf on the other hand, oh man. Ganondorf has it way worse than Link, every time Demise takes influence on him, it's not just a tic that causes outbursts, it's a whole damn parasite that just takes full control of his mind. Just look at how he just beats up Link at 41:27 he literally looks like a robot, just a mindless machine that has the word 'destroy' looping over and over in his head. While Link looks like he has some awareness to what he is doing, enough to make him want to stop, Ganondorf looks hypnotized, it's like his conscience has been completely erased and is replaced with a malicious, machine moving demon, and the scary part is that he technically is. The Ganondorf that we just saw not even 30 seconds ago, that wanted to break this curse, that wanted both him and Link to choose their own destiny, and follow a free future, just died, leaving behind a vessel for Demise to take hold over, and enact his wicked deeds.
    In the end of the day, it is obvious that both Link and Ganondorf want the same thing in this series, they want to be free, to lift this curse that they have, and start with a clean slate. I wish that both would come together, break their curse and live their lives the way THEY want to, without having to be thrust into any more burdens, but sadly we all know that just isn't happening.
    MajorLink, you are a genius, this series is on a whole other level in terms of fan series, especially Nintendo and Zelda fan series, I cannot wait to see how this series will go from here, and I cant wait to see more projects from you, thank you.

      Imagine if that were a twist in TotK….maybe the reason Ganon became the blight wasn’t because he was defeated, but was because Ganondorf himself rejected Ganon’s power, and maybe the reason the Master Sword was destroyed was due to the energy link absorbed being evil in nature as a result of being placed there by Ganondorf himself. Now that would be a twist!

    I also really love how you tie threads of Ganondorf’s characterization together from not just Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess, but Wind Waker as well. He is, undeniably, still ruthless and fueled by something dark and unsettling, but there’s a strange melancholy to him and motivation to help his people, too. since the only way i can express my thoughts on the amazing combat scenes is a very enthusiastic "that is some dope-ass anime shit and i love it", im gonna shift onto something i can be much more articulate about which is your handling of the Lost Woods, Ganondorf and Skull Kid, because i absolutely ADORE them
    your idea of how the Lost Woods function is great! the unnatural lighting, the visions ranging from wishes to memories to fears to regrets, the voices luring deeper into the forest, the fabricated dialogue repeating endlessly, MAN that's the good stuff!! absolutely terrifying! even the dialogue audio clue being constantly mashed at one point plays a part in making the entire experience invoke a sense of extreme dread! the only thing that can break through its magic is music...
    this Ganondorf might be my favorite version of him for how you dug into him with a silver spade. he's brutal, massive, ruthless, yet also terrifyingly quiet, and cunning, and clearly beloved by and caring for his people. i love his struggle with Demise's hatred and how it's become as much in his best interest as anybody else's to keep his body out of its control. their agendas may overlap, but he's long realized that it is working through him, not WITH him - and he's genuinely afraid of it. you can feel it by just how he looks at his shaking hand after releasing Tael... man. and i love the way he interacts with Skull Kid too - he's intimidating but never outright aggressive, resorting to violence only when forced by an impatient demon. even when he shoves the kid away there's still a certain gentleness about it.
    and finally... oh boy. my darling little imp. i'll admit i'm really picky when it comes to Skull Kid because i've been building on his characterization with my own works for. A While Now. but you've knocked it out of the park with him just like you did for Ganondorf, and i have nothing but compliments. whether he looks for trouble or is on his best behavior, overworldly destroyers seem to flock to him and use him as a means to perpetrate their goals as though he were an omen of bad luck - and both times, it's his friends who deal with the fallout of that, while he ends up as an afterthought, being hurt and rendered useless only before the proper final fight starts. his first response to Ganondorf being freezing up completely in terror both out of simply being scared and being reminded of Majora got me Good, and him being spurred into action only when he can't bear Tael suffering... oh man. oh boy. magnificent. it's interesting how it's him, someone completely outside of the major conflict by virtue of inhabiting a completely neutral terrain like the Lost Woods, who causes this fateful meeting to be possible and kickstarts such a terrible fight.
    there's more things i could go insane about, like the scene of the young soldier's death as he speaks to Impa and her losing faith, but if i tried to articulate on that i'd probably just scream for an hour and add another infinite paragraph so perhaps it's better if i stop myself here, haha!
    i apologize for leaving a whole literary analysis in the comment section, but this series is just!!! so well done!!! i'll be picking this episode apart for twelve more years because it is That Good. i'll leave you with my most earnest of compliments and best wishes!

    Happy to see this story again. So many elements to review. Okay. Here is the list.
    1-I love how you captured the essence of war, showing the despair and horror that soldiers die. The way the Hylian soldiers fight against the Poes is incredible. And I also love the scenes with Impa and Zelda fighting. Impa shows that even she has a limit to what she can tolerate, falling into despair when it comes to seeing her army die. Likewise, Zelda turning into Sheik to fight was incredible. She used Nayru's love and the Smash fighting style to make a good fight scene. The fight with Phantom Ganon and the Iron Knuckle was a good climax.
    2-You made the Lost Woods more scary than the other games. I love how the soldier was met with illusions of Zelda knighting him. Likewise, Ganondorf being met by illusions of Link, Zelda, and himself.
    3- The encounter between Ganondorf and Skull Kid, the N64 antagonists was epic. You can see that Ganondorf's evil is comparable to Majora's Mask, even making Skull Kid remember his scenes. I love how Ganondorf tries to reason with Skull Kid, but Demise's anger nearly makes him kill Tael when he tries to send him away.
    4- The encounter between Ganondorf and the son of the Great Deku Tree was emotive. You can see Ganondorf's guilt at killing the Deku Tree, and you can see the seedling understanding Ganondorf's point of view. He has a great burden hiding the Kokiri Emerald. As such, he considers giving it to Ganondorf to get rid of the burden in his shoulders.
    5 The fight between Link and Ganondorf is epic. You can see that Link is using all of his arsenal to fight Ganondorf. And you can see that Ganondorf is enjoying the fight. The way the mood of the fight changed when Ganondorf discovers Link's identity shows the empathy he feels at Link being cursed.
    6- I love how the curse of Demise is horrible not just to Ganondorf, but also to Link. Ganondorf is the one who empathizes with Link the most because he carries the same burden. You can see that Link wants to stop, but the curse makes him keep fighting. The interrogation with Ganondorf shows that Link is unsure of what to do. He is facing Ganondorf because it's the only option that he has. This also shows at the end, when Ganondorf learns Link's name and Demise possesses him to attack. I also like how the memory of the first Zelda is portrayed negatively because it shows Link's desire to protect Zelda curses him to fight.
    7- The presence of Skyward Link was amazing. He is a mentor and guide to this Link and this Link was a mentor to Twilight Link. And I feel like he will help Link fight back against the curse.
    Overall, this story feels like a movie. It's worth waiting because it looks like you researched the game and filled in the gaps.

      In Links defense after knowing very well what Ganondorf is capable of in the past and even in a future where he got the triforce of power and turned hyrule into a dark wasteland of death and despair. He knows how manipulative Ganondorf is, he’s manipulated the king he’s tricked him into opening the temple of time to get the triforce. So it doesn’t surprise me he is acting more towards personal vendetta than the hero’s spirit( which I believe works the opposite of demises curse and inspires hope and courage to stand up to all forms of evil not just demise), he feels like killing Ganondorf is the only way for hyrule to be at peace and at the same time avenge his friends who have perished because of him. Even when Ganondorf is trying to reason with him it doesn’t help that link knows a future he doesn’t know and probably figured Ganondorf is playing mind games to use him as a tool just like he did before. I hope He gets a resolve and understanding that even Ganondorf needs saving too and maybe they together can break demises curse.

    As always this is a masterpiece. The 'main' story between Link and Ganondorf is one that tears your heart to pieces. We all love Link and are aware of what he has gone through but everyone sees Ganondorf as just evil. However, anyone has the potential to be evil and we see that Ganondorf was no different. Much like Link, his destiny was forced onto him and he had no choice but to go on with it. He is well aware of his sins and though knows they can't be forgiven easily, is wanting to escape from the destiny that forces him to commit these sins. He sees Link as someone who is tired as he is and is suffering much like he is. He wants to end this cycle so they can CHOOSE their own paths, perhaps one of peace for both of them. He wants to free himself of not only his own demon but of the one Link isn't even aware he has. It's a tragically beautiful story.
    There are other stories though like with Impa. She is like any other mentor/teacher/commander, etc. She cares for her soldiers and wants nothing for the best of them hence her hard training. Her soldiers return the favor by unending loyalty towards not only Hyrule but her as well. We see her pain as those same soldiers fall one by one, still looking for her to tell them they did their duty as they breath their last breath. It absolutely destroys her to see this as she feels it is the end...until we see yet another part of the story.
    We see Zelda who has forever regretted not being able to fight. She spent years training so she wouldn't be helpless again. She no longer wants to be the one people fight for and instead, she wants to fight WITH them for what they have ALWAYS been REALLY fighting for...their home. She saw what having Link fight for her has done to him and she has had enough of the sacrifices. In a way she has also had enough of her destiny much like Link and Ganondorf have. It only makes sense that the three bearers of the Triforce are rebelling against their destiny all at the same time. Beautiful and very well done writing.
    Last but not least this is weaved together by a soundtrack that only adds to the wordless emotions we feel. Yet another piece that I will be watching endlessly.

    It’s amazing that you brought Demise’s Curse he placed upon Zelda/Hylia’s bloodiness and the hero’s spirit since Skyward Sword. Thus, Ganondorf becomes aware that it is more than just fate binds the Hero of Time, the Princess of Hyrule, and the Evil King from the West. Let alone add a level of complexity to his character as he wanted to protect his people but is used as a pawn.
    I also Link is slowly come to that realization of that revelation where all the dreams/visions both he and Zelda has are a part of the grand scheme of the endless cycle of death and rebirth (or Eternal Bloodshed as Ganondorf stated) before he was controlled by fate.
