First trip down the 1/4 in my custom '72 Corvette

- This is my first time racing a stick shift, so still working on my launch. The car is my '72 Corvette with a Magnuson supercharged LS6. I had four runs that night with a best of 12.07 at 118 and a worst of 12.94. Getting off the line was difficult with street tires, and I spun badly on two of the runs (no video of my worst run). Can't wait to get some videos on a road course! That's my nephew at the end.
car looks great and she moves too you can tell, Im deciding to finish my 71 pro touring build or sell it, videos like this make me want to stick with it..

Hell yeah. You're getting the hang of it. I too have not been the strip in my stick. Only my auto C3. Great job my friend!

That last run against the Honda was a nailbiter!
That's an awesome vette. It's hard to launch with street ties and a clutch. I had an 81 camaro with a 383, 4 speed super t10, and 3.42 gears. With a 275 radial I bested 12.33 @117. Getting off the line takes a lot of practice, my 60s were like 1.8.. Anyways, beautiful vette!

That CRX almost had you. Two or three more stickers and a fresh coat of black spray paint on the hood and the Vette is toast!

Nice car. I'm starting to plan a LS3 swap into my '72. I'd like to run a TVS2300 on it. Wondering how much clearance under the hood.

I have your car as my screen saver!!! I just posted a video of my 76. Hope you check it out. I'm going to redo mine again soon. I have a customer with a SS Trailblazer. That's the 6.0L that's probably going in. I just need him to blow it up or someone run into it just enough to total it. Wouldn't be hard it has 250k miles on it. Keep Rocking it out Dude!!!
@phammond87 I'm making 474 at the wheels. I have a dyno video on CZcams also. I'm not using slicks and this was my first time driving a manual at the track. Was either smoking the tires or the clutch on takeoff.
You know, irregardless of the shifting and reaction time, the most important thing is, "DID YOU HAVE FUN"?? I will bet the answer is HELL YES!!!! That is a very sharp corvette. Did you do the work yourself?? How about those fender flares? I really like those and will eventually sell my 69 GTO and 76 Trans am so I can build one similar to yours!!! More videos please!!

I built a fairly mild 540 for my '70, motor is done just restoring the rest of the car. I hope to post a video soon on the rolling chassis. I expect the car to run 10's but without a cage I don't know if they will let me do even 1 run.

a better launch on some MT Drag Radials would put that car around 11.70 ets' & possibly pick up a MPH or two. good job on the 12.07 et.

lol that was just unfair to pit that little honda hatch at the end up against american muscle. MAYBE if it was really tuned that would make it a better match but...yeah... I kinda felt bad for that honda, it never stood a chance.
