Depending on how long do you plan to stay in Klang Valley (shortform KV; synonym of greater Kuala Lumpur with Klang River as the center location), it will be cheaper in the long run for you to get a Touch n' Go (TNG) card since there's contactless ticket discounts.
If you plan on staying in KV for 1 OR 3 days and will be riding LRT/MRT/BRT (normal buses NOT included), consider purchasing MyCity Pass, an unlimited travel pass, from one of the LRT/MRT/BRT station kiosks.
If you will be riding KLIA Ekspres airport rail, consider getting KL TravelPass which combines the airport rail ticket (single-trip or return depending on which you pick) with a 2-day unlimited travel pass.
For both passes mentioned above, rapidKL bus services (outside BRT) *and* KTM Komuter services are not included in the unlimited ride scheme.
If you, for whatever reasons, has a Malaysian identity card with TNG function (the logo is at the rear) and will be riding rapidKL services very often + staying for more than 3 days, consider getting the My50 unlimited pass (subject to change from government since it's essentially govt-subsidized travel passes for Malaysian citizens). Unlike the passes mentioned above, rapidKL bus services are included in this pass.
I suggest looking up the details of the passes above beforehand.
While there's technically a minimum refundable deposit of RM5, if you end up getting any kinds of TNG cards, do NOT bother getting refunds with it and only top up for the required amount (if you aren't getting the passes). Even for the locals, you can only return the TNG card at their head office in NU Sentral (adjacent & connected to KL Sentral) and the refund process takes exceedingly long since they do not refund in cash; it's been almost half a year since I returned an unused TNG card and I'm still yet to receive my balance refund despite their policy saying it will be refunded within 30 days.

Excuse me, could you please tell me how to buy a classic Touch n Go card? I have searched on the Internet but still don't know how to buy. Thanks a lot.

Thanks for the video. Do you know if i can buy the tokens with credit /debit card at the airport and at the station? Thanks in advance (in your video is only with cash, but maybe there are other machines that allow credit/debit cards.)

Hi, from what we know, there are rapid KL tickets machines that take credit and debit cards. These machines have an extra pin pad but look similar to the machine shown in the video.
