Which Cancers Can Be Treated With Immunotherapy? Ask a Scientist

  • Jeffrey Weber, M.D., Ph.D., discusses immunotherapy as a treatment option for all cancer types. For more, www.cancerresearch.org/patien... #AskAScientist #Immunotherapy
There is no reason why you can't treat any cancer with immunotherapy. All cancers have mutations. If the mutation can be seen, an immune response can activate. In the early days, melanoma showed the most potential as an immunogenic tumor, but today, we have evidence that a whole variety of cancers can be treated with immunotherapy. Now immunotherapy is in the mainstream of cancer treatment; it will only get better as time goes on and more patients will benefit.
Jeffrey S. Weber, M.D., Ph.D., is the deputy director of the Perlmutter Cancer Center, NYU Langone Health, and in that capacity, he works with a multidisciplinary team of medical and surgical oncologists, dermatologists, and pathologists to treat patients with melanomas ranging from the most common to the most complex. He serves as co-director of the Melanoma Research Program, overseeing work in experimental therapeutics. An immunotherapy expert, Dr. Weber’s investigations and research findings have brought innovative advances in melanoma treatment from the laboratory to clinical practice. He is a recognized leader in forging collaborative partnerships between basic scientists and clinical and translational investigators to advance cancer care.
Each week in June 2016, as part of Cancer Immunotherapy Month (#CIM16), we published a response to patient questions about cancer immunotherapy clinical trials. This video series is made possible with generous support from Regeneron.
Help us raise awareness of the lifesaving potential of immunotherapy for all types of cancer. Let's fuel the next scientific discoveries and breakthrough treatments through learning, engagement, and storytelling during Cancer Immunotherapy Month. www.cancerresearch.org/join-t...
Established in 1953, the Cancer Research Institute (CRI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that is dedicated to harnessing our immune system's power to control and potentially cure all cancers. To accomplish this, we rely on donor support and collaborative partnerships to fund and carry out the most innovative clinical and laboratory research around the world, support the next generation of the field's leaders, and serve as the trusted source of information on immunotherapy for cancer patients and their caregivers. Our Mission: Save more lives by fueling the discovery and development of powerful immunotherapies for all types of cancer. www.cancerresearch.org

I use Ivermectin at 1.5 mg every other day and Fenbendazole 222mg every day in addition to my chemotherapy treatment.
According to my blood work my CEA tumor markers were not going down with just Chemotherapy treatment, so after 3 weeks, I started on my own using the Ivermectin and Fenbendazole. My CEA dropped for 136 ng/ml to 4.3 ng/ml and I gained 15 pounds. Normal CEA counts range from 0.0 to 3.0 ng/ml.
I am doing 12 Chemotherapy Cycles and only have 3 more to go.
Take what you want from how I'm treating my stage 4 colon cancer. So far I'm winning and most don't survive 6 to 12 months after being diagnosed. I hope this helps someone or someone that you love.😊

Costs arms and legs to get it if you dont have insurance.
It is *not* without life-long side effects. It does not work for all cases. Note that the body has its own way of preventing an overdrive so that twinkling with the immune system, to tone down tolerance, such a switch may or may not help the cancer patients.
For H&N cancers, especially those with HPV+ tumours, it is better off with vaccine. Biontech (BNT113) and Oxford groups (5GHPV3) are working on this.
Unfortunately Big Pharma often combined the trial vaccines with their drugs, so I wonder if that is meant to be beneficial to the patients or the drug companies in terms of cost.
