      You are right, not overrated. Personally, I think Christiania is overrated and the little Mermaid, if you don't know the history about her and the story by H.C. Andersen.
      They missed so much of Copenhagen. There are way more than this video shows. You can easily spend a week in Copenhagen.

    In all fairness, Tivoli Garden is the third oldest amusement park in the world from 1843 while the second oldest is Wurstelprater in Austria from 1766 and the oldest is Bakken Amusement Park north of Copenhagen, Denmark from 1583.
    What most tourists consider Copenhagen is actually what Copenhageners consider the medieval part or original Copenhagen. This part of Copenhagen was a fortified city up to the mid 1850s and was surrounded by bastions and a moat. This fortification started at Kastellet and remnants of the moat may be found in the lakes of Østre Anlæg, Botanic Garden, H.C. Ørsted Park and Tivoli Garden.
    Copenhagen is full of history for people with that type of interest. There are actually only a rather small selection of buildings in Copenhagen older than 1728. The reason for this is that Copenhagen suffered some pretty big and widespread fires in 1728, 1795 and 1807.

    The waters in the harbour not just in Copenhagen but in other major cities in Denmark are very clean to swim in due to the way water is treated in sewage plants.
    Now the apartment's you said was 1 million euro, is more likely between 300.000 to 500.000 depending on the size.
    You can get those at a million euro but they will be more like penthouse apartments

    I could never understand why Danes are called the happiest people! They don’t seem to be all that happy or outgoing

    • @stefanocastiello.
      @stefanocastiello.  Před 14 dny +1

      Hi Alex, In my opinion the reason Danes are called the happiest people is based on general stuff like salary, good work conditions, and quality of life. These things make life easier and more comfortable, which usually means people are happier overall. So, even if they don’t seem super happy all the time, their lives are generally pretty good.

    • @alexvlasny9755
      @alexvlasny9755 Před 13 dny +1

      @@stefanocastiello. Hey Stefano, your answer makes perfect sense. But I was hoping that being content with their lives would transfer to being genuinely friendly and warm, like Portugal, Brazil or Spain, but it didn’t work like that. They were very polite and helpful, just not warm and fuzzy! Also, Denmark was super expensive.

    • @skodass1
      @skodass1 Před 7 dny +1

      It's a general misconception that Danes are happy... it's more of a fact that we are content. We have better job security, higher quality of life etc. Also there is a HUGE difference on how Danes treat tourists and strangers compared to how we treat friends, Danes are VERY reserved towards strangers and treat friends almost like family members, it can be hard to gain the friendship of a Dane but once you have it you really have to work hard to lose said friendship. Of cause this is speaking in general terms... there will always be outliers.
