1981 Ferrari 512 BB LM "Le Mans" | Startup, Sound, Revs, Idling, Flat-12 Engine | Villa d'Este 2023

This highly original, purpose-built 1981 Ferrari 512 BB LM "Le Mans" was guest to the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2023 in Cernobbio (Italy) which also allowed to experience the sound of this awesome race car - start up, revs, idling - and to admire the Flat-12 engine which produced ca. 350kW out of 5-Liters displacement with a top-speed of ca. 320 km/h.
Sold in 2021 for almost 2 million Euros at an auction, this Ferrari 512 BB LM has the reputation of being one of the best-preserved automobiles of this type and it also possesses a unique, flat, tapering front-end. In 1981 and 1984, the race car started in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Italian racing team Scuderia Bellancauto, and also campaigned in races at Monza and Imola.

That Berlinetta Boxer looks and sounds the part !
I admire the pre 70s Ferrari's the most , but for this beauty I make an exception , it looks verry classic with those curves in stead of sharp edges , and that rearwing suits it verry well ! ❤

@Gaby-uk1js - the Ferrari 512 BB/LM was equipped with a 5.0-litre, DOHC, flat-12 engine, capable of generating 550 horsepower. These engines had twin overhead camshafts per bank which allegedly led to the creation of the “BB” acronym. Often associated with “Berlinetta Boxer”, in this context “BB” stands for “Berlinetta Bialbero”, Italian for dual camshaft. :-)

It is a flat 12 which is 180 degree V12 in this case. Often people call those engines Boxer which it is not. On V-engines opposing pistons share the same crank pin while Boxer engine´s each piston has its own crank pin.
