It’s so cute how the youngest refers to you as 叔叔 uncle because that’s how the parents introduced you, and the middle child called you 哥哥 older brother after asking your age and finding out you’re 25! So cute, knowing the language and being so friendly automatically included you in their everyday casual familial language

What a lovely interaction with the family from Shanxi. Lovely parents who raised their children to be open-minded and friendly with all people. Look how relaxed and comfortable the 12 year old girl was walking and talking with you. And another thing to note, this family is not from any big city with foreigners around, they are from Shanxi province, which makes the way they raised their children to be even more praiseworthy. Beautiful family.

China has the tradition of family education of courtesy since ancient days.
It's so funny that this family is from Shaanxi province, there's a channel that features a girl from Tanzania who married a local boy from that province, the hubby works away from home and she lives with her father-in-law and 2 young kids, the dad comes home to see family when he can get away, but it's very rural living and she's been accepted and adapted really well into the community.

Iv constantly seen american english speakers mock and criticize the way foreigners speak english. In asian countries the people are usually flattered and very encouraging even if you are butchering their language.
He attracts the nicest people. They are so sweet. It's always a pleasure to see him interact with the locals.
The whole continent of Asia is like that to be honest. Asians are all pretty friendly.
It's easier for Africans to speak Chinese and SOUND Chinese, without a 'foreign' accent, than it is for Europeans or Americans.
This is because the Chinese languages are tonal languages just like most African languages.
Tonal languages are languages where a word can mean a different thing depending on the tone used.
Africans are good using their voice, this is one of the reasons they're good singers.
I am Chinese, I think Africans are very gifted in languages, most Europeans and Americans can hear accents when they speak Mandarin, but most Africans can speak Mandarin very well

Guarantee you this type of interaction won't happen in Europe or America with the parents referring to Fel as "uncle" to their kids, taking pics, chatting with him and asking him questions. Whereas it is the norm anywhere in Asia and happens to Fel everyday in all his videos. I wanted to share some ideas on things you could try to get more views:
- make the video itself more of a story e.g. today you’re on a mission to visit chinas tallest tower and see it from both sides of the river - this way, the viewers have a plot line to follow (and therefore are more likely to stick around) but your interactions remain the highlight and come off more spontaneous
- Don’t do all CAPS for your titles
- Shorten your titles - on mobile you can only see a partial title
- title the video by teasing the story you’re telling e.g. “Meeting Chinese family on trek to China’s tallest tower”
That was such a nice interaction with that family, so uplifting.

When I was a kid, the first time I ever saw an Indian woman wearing a sari, I was utterly transfixed. I was 5 and waiting in a line for the restroom. I asked my mom, why does she have a dot on her forehead? And my mom said, why don’t you ask her? This auntie smiled and said, it’s a sticker! She showed me her sheet of stickers, and said, there’s only 3 left, you can have them! She helped me put it on in the mirror, and I was the happiest girl all day. I’ll never forget her, bless her!
My point is, you are giving these kids these kinds of happy memories they will carry with them their whole life 💕
When I was a kid I put a sticker on my forehead as well because I saw Indians do it, kids are so innocent
