All the bags on the market tell me a few things.
1. We need an eyelet spacing standard for frame bags like we have for water bottles.
2. We need a lot less velcro and webbing and tiny pockets and zippers.
3. We need a lot more light colored gear -- when everything is black, it's hard to distinguish, and it cooks the contents.
4. We need more French Porteur designs for front loads. If we can put up with 4lb forks, we can put up with 4lb loads.
i got the framepack and the frontloader, and am really happy with them. well made and great price compared to other bags on the market.
Got the midloader, it last me less than 3 months, the Velcro bands are not properly closing anymore. Replaced it with the Apidura one, a bit more expensive but it feels way more solid
I have the Midloader for 6 months now, after a month of riding I had two broken zippers already so sent it back and got a new one. Backloader works well and is sturdy.
I started cycling pretty recently and have really wanted to start getting into multi-day treks!!! This would be perfect to get started!
I am already loving the Frontloader, Toploader and Backloader, to be honest.
I've gotten way more interested in trying bikepacking lately. Got a 2004 Giant TCX last fall for a winter commuter, but have been having fun experimenting with adding things to increase its functionality (diy pizza rack has been great!). Think it would be so fun to do a 3-4 day trip with the bike đ
Iâm a huge fan of Topeak gear. I am currently using the MTX Trunkbag EX. The quick track system is amazing. My buddy and I are going to bike pack The 4 Rivers trail in South Korea this fall.
Traveled with a complete similar set last year. Great stuff.
Thanks for the look at these. Iâve had my eye on them but theyâre a little hard to find in Canada.
Big fan of GCN and Topeak. I will use this for my bike to work setup and also for traveling across the country in the mountains and country sides where the scenery is absolutely amazing! I hope to win this set from Topeak. It will be a dream come true. Great content as always! Thank you GCN.
Iâm planning a big bikepacking adventure around all of Scotland, some topeak bags would be a huge help!
Just started cycling and would really really want to do a Tour of the U.K in a months time, these would be so perfect!
Nice job as usual Conor, looks like some amazing kit!
I just got my first endurance bike, a Cannondale Synapse. This would be an awesome addition
Amazing bags. Exactly what Iâm looking for.
I've been wanting to do some long distance bikepacking trips for a long time now but I've never really had the budget for the equipment, as college isn't exactly the best time financially. This is the perfect time for this to pop up, though let's be real, my chances of winning are like 1 in a million. Still, that's better than none!
Doing the welsh coastal path in August and would loves these!!đ
Great review. I went with the 15L backloader and it worked great for my multi day bike trek on the Katy Trail. Highly recommend. - Itâs interesting that there are 3 sizes yet they hold the same weight. Hmm....
Nice promo, can't wait to see the field trip. One know about equipment and set-up after riding a minimum of 500 miles.
These look super nice. Would be great for my new gravel bike. Hoping bikepacking adventures are on the horizon.
Conor gets me to watch advertisements
Topeak I have some amazing gear! I've used Topeak a fair bit over the last few years while touring (in Scotland). I might have to get some of these new bags.
Great video! Love the way Connor added to the bike packing experience by filming it after just getting out of bed #bedhairđ
Major upgrade on the framebag mounts. The previous version is rather annoyingly incompatible with Topeak toploader.
Point: the spaces of handlebar are to avoid destroying the cables! The cables! Proven experience. Use ALL the spacers.
I used the front- and backloader last year for a two-day 500 km trip with my Orbea Orca Aero.
Great value and design but the dry bag upfront is quite vulnerable if you pack more than a towel.
You need to rethighten the straps of the saddlebag after a few kilometers to prevent it to swing and put you out of balance on a climb.
I hope a more informative review will follow because for the moment it's another commercial video.
to be fair to GCN here, it was labeled as an Ad. Every "unboxing" with a giveaway has always been an ad spot and not an actual review. In fact i'm not sure i've ever seen an actual review on GCN.
Conor, if you ever go ancient site-seeing in Peru, I would like to sign up for that trip.
A.useful follow up video would be a demonstration of how to pack those bags for weekend, week, and month long trips. Tent/bivy sack, sleeping bag, clothes, food, personal items.
i think si richardson did one a while back
Have a few tours lined up that these would be awesome for đ
Ooh a giveaway... idk what it even is and Iâm commenting
I have a backloader already, great for stuffing all my work gear in to commute. Been looking at picking up the rest of the kit, just entered fingers crossed!
how do you enter?
@@waltjohnszczepaniak9664 this was a while ago now think you miss the prize draw
Just got my new bike and those would fit perfectly on it!
I have their backloader bag its pretty amazing.
got midloader recently - pretty cool, practical.
do you catchbyour knees on it ?
Feel so sorry about the plant stashed in the corner. give it some light man! :(
đđđ itâs about to die
This would be amazing, would love to start bike packing with the family!
Then take the classic pannier setup. You will have no advantage between the metrik speed and transport volume for the family.
this would be so handy during my travels!
Question
Do you knows on the setting how much was the total weight in the bike ??just to have briefly idea thanks guys
awesome setup and giveaway!
a very cool set for long ride !
After long comparsion i decide to buy topeak too. Best value for money.
It's an amazing array of bags
Heading out on a new bike, a gravel bike, and popping my spares bottle into the cage. Got a nasty puncture, the 25c tube barely made a dent in filling the 45c Tyre and then it rained, I punctured again and walked 5kms home đ€Ł have since gone tubeless on both sets of wheels (one set for road and one for off road) and not had a puncture since
Im doing a tour around the whole Welsh perimeter in Aug/Sep, this would be amazing!
Sounds a great adventure !
Good luck đ
@@Foxtrottangoabc really can't wait, first Holiday all year! Mixture of camping and Premier Inn (they're bike friendly)
@@santiandres5177 thats a great combo , exactly what I plan on doing on the South down way in couple of weeks , camp first night or two, then premier Inn final night ! , figure I will need a decent bed by then đ€Ł , been wondering if i can take my bike into the room đ have a great adventure ! đ
Also great in regular use when taking my kids out and need extra kit
I got most of the bags but sadly the midloader will not fit my MTB frame but I love the other bags and then I got the Versacage mounts for extra storage space on the bike
Planning the north coast 500 so this would be perfect
Just what I need for my commute right now
People with experience of the back loader (or similar), are they generally big enough to get a laptop in?
Iâm currently training to to the Lejog and I need bags shame I was late to the party maybe next time
I am hoping to do lands end to John o'groats for charity next year so this would be amazing!
Really could use some of them. Fingers crossed.
Are the winners of the giveaway been announced?
I never realised Fondos were a race. I learnt something new today. Whant race licence so you need?
Although this setup looks nice and streamlined I think I'd prefer to have everything contained in a fewer number of bags. Good old fashioned pannier bags on a rear rack, much quicker to remove from the bike.
There are systems, where you can remove only the bags and the rest of the holders stay on tge bike. If you want to go fast and off road, these bike packing systems are really nice. But ofc, for normal touring, the classic panniers are awesome. Did 110km in the Netherlands this weekend with them:)
Need the green set to match my Brompton please!! x
It's always a good idea to bring along a towel.
Who can suggest a decent size camera bike bag you don't have to carry as a sling nor backpack? I'm a rider am trying to find a frame bag that'll fit a mirrorless camera and a 16-50mm lens on it.
I ordered my first road bike. Unfortunately, I don't have any possibility to mount my rack with panniers. So it would be a godsend to have these lovely backs. I would take them with me around Germany.
i have topeak beam rack and panniers ive had it for over a decade and its still good.
wow, iâd love to have one
it seems that the competition link doesn't work.
Great đđ
Would love to try bikepackung
To enter the contest the question asks for the number of "backpacking bags" do you mean "bike packing bags"?
Products are awesome but cant avail it in india very few market is over here
If I get them giveaways, Iâll film my way from Montreal to Vancouver for u :)
could you please share the bike stand you are using at the 0.33 mark thanks a million
Amazing, I was planning a tour of Norway and Northern Europe, this would certainly help my wallet somewhat!
Awesome
Nice Douglas Adams reference
where's the TopLoader?
BTW, guys there are two correct answers to your giveaway question depending on whether you count each of the sizes as a new bag. Just an FYI. Cheers.
Hey this looks cool
bags are nice, the price though
You should always know where your towel is.
This would make go bikepacking
Those handlebar wraps are gorgeous, can you share the brand and style please?
Is there a boritto holder is the question?
Ya always comment and like on unboxing
I don't see any form on the page to be filled. :/
Sorry about that, this is because the competition is now closed
Me: Toe-peak
British people: Top-eak
YES I WANTT
Fancy shit.
I made a panâąyer out of scotch tape, and a gallon Ziploc bag. And Velcro strap. And a binder clip.
Is Connorâs hair a new climbing challenge? it looks so high and well coiffured you could complete an Everesting up it in one go? đ
I want this
The comp question talks about Topeak's "backpacking range". I think someone let the autocorrect get away from them there! Sort of hard to know what to answer with a dodgy question like that!
yay giveaway pls
Where would you pack a tent?
i thinks more of a bivvy bag setup for bike packing
Thatâs enough storage for a week đđđ
Want to get into bike packing. Hopefully I get selected. Thanks for the opportunity.
I WANNA WINNN
I don't even bikepack so
I wish i get the give away
It is to peak or top peak?? I'm confused.. Haha
Let me win
Great video but the bags seem so so
RiP plant
Conor hasn't got those clip on sandals has he...
That spinergy wheel :(
Yeah if i am carrying that much for an adventure i would take the motorbike....
