I think at some point she became complicit with her mother and they new their gig was coming to an end because you cannot conceal age forever, and Drs were onto them and I think Gypsy decided to off her momma and play victim to avoid the criminal charges that her and her momma would have had coming, so she found a weak and autistic person to do her dirty work, and tried to blame him, still does, then she literally gets off with a slap on the wrist and somehow is able to profit from her crime which I thought was against the law..she is a scary human being and I wouldn’t trust her anywhere near me or someone I love

Fear of retaliation from the abuser if a victim of abuse isn't believed by alerting the authorities is insanely common, especially when victims are younger. And even if they believe the victim, the police often can't (or won't) do anything unless they have hard evidence. It's easy to say she should have called the police, but in practice, that can terrifying for victims. I mean, if that many medical professionals believed her mother, why wouldn't she expect law enforcement to do the same? What's to stop her mother from becoming more unhinged after being interrogated by law enforcement?

It was Gypsy's idea to have a similar childhood so she could get attention and go on a bunch of vacations. Dede was too sick to keep up with the act by the time Gypsy became an adult, and Gypsy began rewriting history in spite of her mother being too sick to help her con people anymore.
