    Honestly I think I’m going to trade in my Silverado 1500 ccsb for this truck. The appeal to me is that, it’s a Cummins, it’s a long bed, and Its just my dog and I, so 2-3 seats is fine. Also the shorter wheelbase makes parking in city’s/tight spots a bit easier. I’m gonna throw some steel bumpers on ‘em and a diamondback cover and I’m set. Everything I need. I’m going to check it out tomorrow and see how I feel about it. A lot of people tend to forget the regular cab long bed is the ORIGINAL truck.

    That single cab 3500 is beautiful. I prefer the single cab it’s clean and functional. But the crew cab is nice because I use the food flat for all my tools so they don’t get stolen from the bed lol

    Came back to this video to update- I checked out a 2018 version of this truck, and I was honestly impressed. My first truck ever was a regular cab 2004 ranger. Those seats were at a 90 degree angle, and pretty much stayed there. There’s newer versions, you can actually recline the seat (at least as much as I’d ever need to) I imagine the 2022’s are even better. I’m sold.

    I special ordered my 2019 Ram 3500 Regular Cab Big Horn fully optioned with the high output Diesel and auto level rear air suspension fifth wheel prep. It stickered out over $80,000 here in Canada. Best truck I ever owned. Snow clearing in winter, pulling trailers in summer.

      @dantimber Před 2 lety +1

      I've been looking for a single cab 2500 Bighorn with the full length console! That and the storage tray behind the seats might really make a difference. Do you know the dimensions of that tray? Did you order the Cummins or gas? Also wondering if the rear coil suspension has a noticeably better ride unloaded than the 3500's leafs?

    • @coffeebert6644
      @coffeebert6644 Před 2 lety

      @@dantimber Hello friend the back tray is roughly the length of the inside of the cab x 4” high # 8 -9 wide I laid towels on the bottom so you couldn’t hear the stuff vibrating back there - I keep a lot of stuff back there that I want easy access to just reach around and grab it. I ordered the 6.4 hemi because I did the math on the price difference for the mileage I do a year it would take 26 years for me to break even with purchasing the Cummins - I have heard the coil springs are a much better ride than the leafs. I have a 16’ utility trailer that I occasionally pull so I went with the coil springs with no air suspension because I heard the air suspension is expensive to repair. I thought about doing a video on it when I get it but we Will wait and see about that

    • @dantimber
      @dantimber Před 2 lety

      @@coffeebert6644 Thank's for that information on the storage tray. I can't find it on the Ram website and can't find a Regular Cab 2500/3500 to look at in person. That storage tray is significant when Ford and GM have none in their Regular Cabs.
      That makes perfect sense about the Cummins break even. What is your opinion of the MDS on the gas engine? Do you notice it?
      I wish I could test drive one but will have to order. I won't need the air suspension either. I think the coil rear suspension alone will be softer than leafs - that's what I understand anyway. I spend a lot of time on rough logging roads.

    • @coffeebert6644
      @coffeebert6644 Před 2 lety

      @@dantimber Good evening , I have no experience with the MDS yet (I haven’t received the truck yet, ships on Monday) what I have read about it people either hate it or love it, I am told you can put a tuner on it to shut it off if you want, I will probably leave it alone as I would like to get the best mileage as possible and the Ram engineers are more knowledgeable than me on their vehicles. My previous truck was a Ram 1500 single cab with an eco diesel in it and a tree decided it wanted to take my truck out with me in it that I barely lived through. Now dodge doesn’t make the 1500 with the options I had in my ram so I had to move up to the 2500 too get the cab set up I wanted.

    • @dantimber
      @dantimber Před 2 lety

      @@coffeebert6644 Wow glad you're okay! I'm sure you're familiar with the issues GM trucks have had with cylinder deactivation. I haven't seen those complaints regarding Ram's MDS but haven't researched it. BTW, Ford's 5L got cylinder deactivation for 2022.
      I think the Regular Cab Ram 2500 is the best of the HD Regular Cab's. None of them will ride as well as 1/2 tons but the 2500 has rear coil suspension and is supposedly the best riding of the HD's.
      I was watching a Canadian CZcams channel advertising a Ram Regular Cab 1/2 ton. I don't think I can post a link but you can find it with a Google search. It looks like Canada has much more options for Ram's 1500's as well as different trims. They are able to get power seats in their Regular Cab's. I need them because I'm only 5'10".
      Edit: You might want to research Canada Ram to see their full options. I realize it's a moot point for you now but it's interesting.
      Hope you do a video with your new truck!

    Come on up to the Northeast of the States....you can't cross the street without getting flamed by a regular cab truck ( by all manufactures that offer it). Working truck, snowplow driveway friendly. I thank you for the review. Please stop with the weird weird weird stuff. You make it sound like this fell from outer space and we should approach it with cautious enthusiasm. And to help you out...an 8' bed on on a regular cab is not longer than an 8' bed on any other cab configuration. That highlight starts at 10:59 Keep up the good work.
